My buddy traded me a few parts for doing a bunch of maintenance on his new jcw he brought home. It came with a bag of goodies and coincidentally ONE of them IVE BEEN WANTING.
so it's a 5% larger , lightweight alternator pulley...They're very very effective when running such aggressive sc pullies and larger cranks. I've never had any alternator issue yet but that doesn't mean in the future I won't so I installed the alternator pulley last night.
I also had to redo the waterpump AGAIN because a clamp on a hose that sits behind the pump i needed to replace the clamp because it wasn't clamping tight enough and coolant was dribble past it , running down my trans and onto my floor and I kept thinking it was leaking from the block inlet but I was wrong. So HOOOOOOOOOOPEFULLY now it won't leak. I also finally found a good Oring that fit the waterpump well too so that better help because i dont feel like doing it a 5th time... here's some pics.
Lol not 1x stock pulley on my car.. ac delete , lightweight idler pulley , lightweight alternator pulley , sprintex 60mm pulley and my hpr tensioner ...lolol

R56 calipers are junk
I took the car out today and they're still hanging up. Even after using a power bleeder and activating the abs system while bleeding.. so unfortunately I was sold junk...
Too bad I missed out on getting a willwood setup because paypal screwed up , long story but it never sent my payment to the guy though they charged me and they got sold to someone else by the time I figured out wtf was going on...
oooooooooooo im not happy

Powerstop calipers for a 2010 S model, $36.99 each after core on rockauto.com. Of course you have to go through all the hassle of painting and swapping them again but at least you already have good pads/rotors/lines.

Im looking into if the jcw 4pot calipers will clear my aftermarket 16s , if so , theyre the route im going. If not , i shall use your provided link..The repops which are identical to the old oem ones are very very well priced and IF I can fit them behind my 16in mst time attacks , I'm going to go that route..
though last night I grinded down sone of the brakes pads to see if that helps. I fought getting then on because of the thickness of the breakin material. I also 2x checked and all the slide pins were ok buuuuuut 1x was binding so I wonder if that was playing into the problem..it's pouring out today abd snow due again tomorrow so idk when ille get to road test it again but I will report back if it fixes my issue with my pad grinding and slide bolt fix.

I don't think the JCW 4-pots fit under 16" rims. They are pretty bulky. However, since they bolt up to the knuckle, you could purchase them and try it out...

my rims are aftermarket 16s with an et20 AND spacers so maybe..
people also told me 15s don't clear jcw brakes but they do but that a whole different thing..lol
man , that would be nice if I can run these calipers..

Ok I thought you had a set of R56 S calipers that were pre-owned and not functioning correctly. Those rockauto links are just R56 S calipers from PowerStop. I may be way off as I worked a 20+ hour shift yesterday and my thoughts are about as clear as mud lol, but I was under the impression that R56S calipers are the same as R53 JCW calipers. So you actually want R56 JCW calipers?? I found out this week that the ATSZ Brembos are a direct bolt on upgrade for my C5 brakes and only run $136/per corner.... the aftermarket is fine and all but for multiple thousands of dollars I'd much rather utilize oem options for a fraction the cost and use some of the "leftover" funds elsewhere

Disaster !
we were bleeding the brakes AGAIN and as we got the the last corner even after foxwell being used on the abs MY RESERVOIR split open and pissed fluid EVERYWHERE . So we ran to the salvage yard and I grabbed a whole replacement brake master cylinder and swapped it on. Redid the bleeding procedure and wouldn't ya know it , the pedal felt AMAZING and didn't sink. So I said F it let's powerbleed my clutch slave too since I replaced it only like a year ago AND A BOLT SNAPPED OFF IN THE LOWER MOUNT. Thank GOD it still tightens on with just the 1x so it's gonna be asis UNTIL I get around to ordering and doing the clutch. Then once I drop the trans I will drill n tap it out. But I don't wanna try with it where it sits with the lack of room. I don't wanna F' that trans ear mount.. i plan on using an ebay stage 2x fx clutch and lightweight flywheel, Im using the same setup in my aero mini AND I LOOOOVE IT.
so me n my buddy will finish bleeding the clutch tomorrow and hopefully my brake pedal is back to normal and my clutch engagement will be crisp still.. but ugh. That bolt I know I didn't over tighten and it never even sees rain noneless barely got driven so for that bolt to snap like it did is such b.s..
o yea , I got a new intake thingy that plastic housing that sits behind the intake box. I got another one and cut it up to fit and used that to seal the filter in instead of the strut bar.

Problem not fixed...
I found a vacuum line collapsed from vacuum when the car was running and it was the vacuum line thar connected to the brake booster off the sc. So i removed the supercharger and bent a hard line to fit and reinstalled it and put everything back together aaaaaaand it didnt fix the sinking brake pedal..lolol.ugh.
so I finally thought to smoke test the brake booster and after wresting out the vacuum fitting from it I pumped s one into it AND it DIDNT hold pressure AND it leaked smoke into the cabin by the brake pedal by the plunger from the booster. Sooo I think maybe it's internal diaphragm is shot soooo I took the dang thing off and what a pita that was.. I can't imagine how much of a nightmare it's gonna be installing the new one.. gowd ! I just PRAY the problem is fixed because the stage 2x performance clutch and all corresponding replacement /maintenance parts have been ordered..lol I spend 600$ buying stuff to do my clutch and the brakes arnt even working properly...derderder.. but in all fairness I thought the brake master swap was gonna help things..
haha o well..idk yet if im gonna have a local member do the clutch job for me and pay him or if I wanna do ANOTHER clutch job , since I just got done doing it and though it wasn't hard it's an inconvenience because I can't do it in my own garage as it's too small so it's a huge inconvenience for me actually...
Since i got my new meth nozzle too and have 5x different sizes i decided to swap intercooler from car to car. I put thd grs motorsport ic onto my aero car because it's a steet daily driver car , it did loose 1x lb of boost BUUUT it made the car run smoother than any mini I've ever driven. It's unreal. I can't explain it but it drives so nice. It also didn't loose any power.
I gonna rely on the meth to cool this cars iat's now strictly and it just makes more sense then to get a few psi of boost back then and up my meth nozzle size if i have to to kerp things at at or asclose as possible to ambient tenps. Irs also a 2x stage kit so i can have it activate at wven 1psi if I wanted and not make it go too rich because it wont go to the full 300psi and set nozzle until the 2nd stage kicks in, so it allows me to better dial things in. And at the end of last years season adriancl finally got to working on and perfecting the tune inorder to run ON the meth. So its just time to do so.
im also very very considering a 75hp dry shot of nitrous pre intercooler too and that plus the meth will do wonders. The coling effects of both but woth the added density and ability to fuel nore with the nitrous. It will be a good combo i think.

New booster , New brake master, over 20x bleeding cycles and using the scwaben tool to activate the abs module and absolutely NO ****ing change in the pedal.. I'm soooooo close to saying ****ing it and strip it down, transfer everything I wanna use onto the aero and sell the rest.. I'm soooooooo close.
Idk wtf it could be but this is such ********.

So I left my brake pedal depressed over night , then I bled it 2x more times.. the pedal still sunk to the floor... so I said F it and went to pull my car out so I could paint in my garage and for some reason the brake pedal held. Though it was verrrrry close to the floor , it held.. so I took it around the block romping on the brakes and it seemed to get better gradually.
so after a few blocks I took it back home and bled another 2x times and went for another test drive , I ended up driving like 20miles or so and the brake pedal now feels 100x better.
it still feels like it travels abit too far befor it bites good but it's atleast fully drivable and my calipers no longer hangup either..
what a pita.
I think I HAD to drive my car inorder to push the air down far enough to be bled out..I have a feeling its was just bleeding rite by the air somehow..
felt nice driving this car again, gowd its a world of a difference compared to my aero car , n my aero car is no punk either. Its running 18psi with fullbolt on and gp tune on facelift ecu and as much faster as that one is than stock , that's how much faster my Grey one is than the aero..lol it's hard to keep it strait in 1st n 2nd gear !

Had a HUGE scare !
the car just shut down at a stop light abd I could restart it. So I had my mom pull me via my towhook back home and began digging.. I found my belt wouldn't turn , SOMETHINGS LOCKED UP ,the car wont start and turn over either now.
so I removed the belt and tested the accessories and found MY SPRINTEX WAS LOCKED UP !!!!! OMG !!!!!!!!
so I get it off and find something wedged on the rotor against the casing , I THINK ITS FUUUUUUUCKED !
SO I go to disassemble it because I was going to send it in for a rebuild and new rotor pack but I worked it loose and it began to spin again. So I FULLY took apart the sprintex to inspectinspect damage was very superficial. I couldnt even feel the scratches it made BUT on the rotor blade it didnt chunk it abit BUT i just used my sander and 2000grit and sanded it smooth again and then I sanded the casing inside very lightly and put it all back together and WOW I got lucky. It WORKS AND IT WORKS GREAT STILL ! thaaaaaaaank gooooooood ! What happened was during figuring out the brake issue I put a hardline on from the booster to my sc because I found the line I used was collapsing so I had to shorten it and I cut it while everything was on and installed, I thought I was careful but obviously not enough because the rotor tolerance in this sc is soooooo tight even a piece of dust interferes so anyways a chunk of the hard hose I cut fell into the tube and locked up the rotors and stalled out my engine then..
the sc has lost NO boost and isn't making any odd noises ect.. actually my iats are running much cooler now lolol so I think the sc benefitbenefited from a good cleaning and the craigslist style rebuild I did on it..
the brakes now are fully worked out after i finally replaced the slide pins because old ones were a little iffy.
i also kept getting a p0108 and p1498 codes buuuuut found swapping on my stock ported throttlebody and intake fixed that. I think adriancl musta forgot to tune in the 65mm throttlebody setup last year and i never drove enough for the system monitors to finally detect the error. When we got what i thought was done tuning snow came very soon so i had to put the car away. It doesnt loose much power going back to stock tbody buuuut it DOES allow me to activate my meth at a much much lowrr psi . Stock tbody i can begin injection at 6psi so it stays verrrrry cold but uses lots of meth then and i think thr extra meth is making extra power so it evening out the throttlebody trade off..
I painted the intercooler cover too.
so now all the kinks are worked out it will be going in to get the clutch and flywheel done in like a week..

I had an old mechanic tell me one time "when it comes to building engines, cleanliness is next to Godliness" meaning anytime internal parts are exposed you need surgical room environment. I'm not gonna lie though, I don't always do that lol. I also had about a 50% of anything I worked on actually working when I was done with it for years 😂.

I'm thinking it was probably a good thing the piece of hose was sucked in at idle.

Car has been left with a fellow local member...he's gonna be doing thr clutch job fir me on this car..
it's been a bad 2x weeks.. my r.a levels are through the roof which means my body is having an arthritis flare so doing anything requires 2x effort..
so unfortunately I bit the bullet and to get it done in time it HAD to get the clutch in asap. Im already abit behind schedule with it because its gonna need a 700mile break in period too.
I talked to my tuner and were gonna retune once the clutch is broken in because I wanna get rid of the overboost codes when I use the bmv12 tbody. So for now i put the stock ported setup back on and i drove it to dudes house like 40min out OF COURSE in a terrible downpour but car ran great and 0 codes came up..
lol I swear ,only time this car sees bad weather is qhen i HAVE to drive it somewhere to be worked on the VERY few times i have had to.. lol mother nature takes her opportunity to get it when she can..
o yea befor i took it to my buddies to be worked on i did spray everything with penetrating lube aaand i also found my oil leak FINALLY ..LOL 2x oil pan bolts were finger tight that sat behind the ac compressor. They musts got loose over time, I 2x checked all others and they were ok so hopefully that gets rid of the dampness i was seeing on my oilpan lately.
here Troll sits , under someone else's bridge....just waiting to troll ****'s again soon.

1st off I'd like to thank fellow local member MegaDan for putting in the clutch n other stiff along with it for me.
I just didn't have the space or time unfortunately to do this car my self. But Dan did an AMAZING job , if you know anything about me you know i do things to their fullest and expect alot. He exceeded my expectation !
AWESOME JOB DAN , THANK YOU !
I put back on the 65mm tbody and 3in intake and already drove around 80miles breaking in the clutch. I HAD to try 1x wot and lololol wholly **** , it really REALLY revs up ALOT faster now. Lolol 1st gear was SO SHORT , it just flew through it. I cannot believe how hard it accelerates now. Lolol it pulled a 4.4sec 0-60mph last year with a few less mods so if I can match that and have a better top end too. Fricken SWEEEEEEET !
Once the clutch is broken in adriancl and I are going to finish tuning because I think he forgot a few things in my tune and when I build too much boost it pops a cel , so we need to get that addressed and probably will see if we can add some more timing under boost since according to my afr gauge , I have abit of room ro do so. And IF it goes abit to lean I can just increase the meth injection to compensate and be able to benefit from the even MORE increase of timing under boost.
I attached a pic if the old clutch.. it appears the prior owner was honest with ALL the work and maintenance he did on the car.. no offense to the guy but i bought it off craigslist and not from the best part of the city so I just took it asis for what I could feel and see. And I'm glad I did because this cars been an absolute blast owning.
Ive worked on a few other minis and they wrre a nightmare conpared to mine working on due to lack if maintenance and not living in a garage..
