Wow , the dual AG stuff is usually THAT expensive ???
lol I doubt these are O.G ones then but so long as fitment and quality is good , I will keep them.
lol I bet manufactures origin will be from Taiwan, home if repops. IF you DO get repops , I found Taiwan v China and Japan ect , Taiwanese products are always made with better detail and attention....I found some good Japanese stuff too but it's usually more expensive because of import and taxes ect though..
aaaaaaanyways . I found the correct lines for the calipers so I'm ordering those today as they're not too much ..
Idk why they sell specialspecial cables for them because after i knocked off a few tabs on the calipers, my cars ebrake cable WILL fit them without any modifications , only difference is they mount with the hard bend towards the top of the calipers instead of below..
kinda sux my car will have drilled and slotted on the rear and solid rotor on the front , I hope wilwood sells a solid rotor so i can have all 4x match , if not , then i will get drilled and slotted for the front then to match the rear..
I also been tossing around the idea if getting an adjustable cam gear for the 469... anybody have any input on that ????
We are direct with them and I have talked to them about the early days/old school MINI R50-R53 parts since thats when they started making parts in Japan. They are not making that stuff anymore. Most of its that is used and real is still on cars in Japan.
MINI is very popular there and its also I higher priced car in Japan. Its made and fits that country very well. Most customers in Japan spend a lot on their MINIs.
Just watch is something says Duell AG style or anything else that's not branded as most for the price are low quality copies. They have a bunch of people knocking off their high end items. Just a heads up.
The R56 JCW side skirts are a nice mod for the old school Gen 1 MINIs.
You should really like the willwods once all fitted.

im.very disappointed in the willwoods.. they require alot of bullshittery to get to fit.. im NOT ok with running washers for spacers and splicing in fitting to make stuff work.. what a terribly made kit.. I highly HIGHLY suggest ANYBODY who's looking at willwood upgrade to say **** THAT and go brembo.. imo my brembo are 10x the quality, fitment isn't even a comparison either.. if your making a product for a car ,finish it and make it correct. Don't half ask it and then make the buy have to hack up and modify their car to fit the product. That's ********.
willwood IS GARBAGE !!!!!!!
I'm glad I covered the logo now..pft , I will never look at willwood the same again.. these brakes just are crap.
if their front kit fits like this , I personally wouldn't feel safe with it considering that's your main brakes..
I'm actually already considering ditching the willwood and just going r56 rear caliper. Lol im sure the gains are the same. Calipers and rots are same size. Only differnce is willwood made a larger diameter rotor though it has NOOOOO extra surface area than even the stock rotor.. lol what a joke.

Derderder . The skirts I ordered are made by duaflex , they're their " dual ag style " lolol.. so we will see the quality once they get here , I got a feeling they'll be getting returned.
my experience with duraflex is either super nice or super jjanky with no in between. Either theyre gonna fit great or theyll require wayy too much work to fit than theyre worth..
I will definitely post..
The skirts arrived and brake lines..
thank MR JOHN COOPER him self ! The brakelines don't need any splicing , they adapters screw rite into the brakelines and then into my hardline..
I unfortunately was in a minor accident in my aero cooper 😢 😞 but thankfully only broke the front bumper and flattened a tire..had the road been plowed the correct width , id have been fine.
Long story short , a big shitbox truck.flew into the roundabout and was on the inside pane and had drifted into my lane and my tire caught the ruts and pulled me rite into the snowbank...
Can you upload an image of the remnants damaged Aero bumper?
It almost appears as if there were clean breaks that may be repairable/salvageable/mended back together if you can't find a new/used replacement.

Sorry to see that happen to you.
unfortunately it was in the negatives that day so when my bumper hit the bank IT EXPLODED. BUT I had a bunch of people interested in buying it so I think crashing it actually made the sale happen and I ended up acquiring a car im FALLING HEAD OVER HEELS for..
I just got done installing a big turbo with billet compressor wheel and it is tuned too by of course adriancl.
Took the Troll for a spin today because it was almost 60' out.. DAAAAAAAAMM I forget HPW FAST and powerful this car is..lol I let it rip while in 2nd doing like 40mph and I had one had one the wheel and other on the shifter waiting to shift because it flys through the gears SO FAST but I had to quickly grab the wheel with both hand because of the torque steer , lol torque steer AT 40MPH LLLOLLL..gowd I LOVE it..
my brakes are still abit squishy and I need to finish flushing the rears , dude who sold me the rear willwood did so BECAUSE THEYRE **** !!! I been fighting to get them to bleed , they won't even start bleeding without me pushing down the brake pedal to start the bleeding process, even with 15psi at the reservoir it still won't push out.. but then I began getting BIG chunks out and I mean big chunks.. like wtf ???? Were these calipers buried in dirt or gravel ??? Wtf !?! I'm NOT happy about these , if seller would have been honest I'd still bought them but atleast I woulda have known to completely disassemble and clean them but he gave Me the b.s " they work perfectly, no issues what so ever " and that obviously wasn't true . I even put in fluid at like 170'F temp in hopes it would break anything up in the calipers. I banged on the calipers and wiggled the lines too while bleeding.
But atleast I got it good enough to drive around and run and get the last gaskets I needed to finish my turbo upgrade on my r59 jcw...lol YUP , I have a jcw and the jcw turbo STILL wasn't good enough for me..
This is the chunks from the 3rd flushing even , I wished I'd taken a pic of what came out the 1st time.
^^Wonder if your rubber lines are deteriorated from the inside. I say this because I had an issue some time ago with my truck. I was driving along and smelled burning. Thought it was someone else. Turned out it was me. Took it home and checked the brakes and tried to bleed the fronts as the rear were ok. One of them simply would not bleed. Someone on a forum mentioned that sometimes the lines break down and swell up on the inside (but look perfectly fine on the outside) and cause all sorts of issues. I removed the line and it was deteriorated and swollen. I replaced it and issue solved.
Might be worth a look. If you have the lines off might open up the calipers to inspect for debris lodged in there as well...

Good Luck!
I have no rubber lined on my car nor have I for awhile ,they are all stainless steel rmw lines. most my hardlines are new/newer also this issue happened after installing these calipers. I NEVER got chunks out of any if my lines.. matter fact, the rear lines too were brand new...
I wonder guess im gonna have to just spend awhile flushing them soon as i can get to it again and weather is decent enough again..
buuuuuut since you mentioned it , I will try and get one of the chunks out again and get it out of the fluid and try and see what it is..though it seems to breakup into littler pieces pretty easily like it would be dirt or or something.
Was a very sad day for me.... due to life changes I HAD to sell project Rice and I took much much less than I wanted and the cars worth..I know I coulda made much more just parting it out but the car is special as it sits and I wanted someone else to be able to enjoy all the hard work I've put into this car..
it wasn't even a car to me as much as it was like another child. Just is what it is....
I'm not out the mini game though guys , i do have a 2011 mini coupe jcw and ive already begun modding that car too. Feel free to check out that cars build thread..
if you have any questions about anything ive used on this build or howto , feel free to drop me a pm. I dont mind one bit helping another miniac..
stay safe guys AND MOTOR ON !!!!!!
Always sad to put so much work , money and sweat into a project and then have to let it go . It is a sweet mini and hopefully whom.ever you sold it to will recognize it as so . I am.sure the new owner got a deal with all the upgrades and work on it .
At least now u have other new projects to keep your mind busy and hopefully u will turn another mini into a great ride .
Aw man, gonna miss The Ricer, but you made a good swap with the Paceman! If I had to get another one it would be a Countryman or one of those 2-seaters, glad to see you're already digging into it, I'll catch ya on the new thread
Sad to hear this is the end of the project Rice! Best of luck with the new project!
thx bud..
New buyer isn't too happy about it though I fully disclosed everything and even took much less than agreed upon because the dsc light came on ( car hsdnt been driven In about 4weeks and was in mid 20s) then my driver seat wasn't catching the upper most spot so it wouldn't sit directly up and had some bounce to it..he also said " no wayy it's 300hp) but yet never took it near its redline so came into every gear WAY to low. Lol I said " a aub 300hp engine ain't pulling no 4.4 0-60 , want me to show you what it can do ? " but he declined. Because he wanted to use it as a bargaining tool.
lol you guys seen my last video I posted , you think the engine is atleast 300hp ?? It gotta be atleast 260whp with that speed, no ? Then NOTHING has changed on the car since then nor has it been driven other than 1x time I had it out on a nice day ( and it pulled like a monster for me and no dsc , no cel no nothing)
so for those 3x things I said ille knock off 500$ from the 11k. Then he hits me at 9800$ , i thought he really liked it and understood the car but i was wrong.
even though I fully disclosdd the aftermarket wheel situation, hes mad he cant get it past his states inspection, all I can speak for is me and my stare and I said truthfully the car DID pass milwaukee emissions or I wouldn't have been able to register and insure it..
I feel bad he's upset but i was nothing bit truthful with him and worked with him on HIS terms. I get he had a hella travel to get here but I couldn't have been more forward about the car , I even took cold start vids ect ( lol of course the dsc wouldn't have come on THEN )
THING IS I had another buyer who'd wanted the car STRICTLY for track purposes and was fine with 11k AS IS.. but o well , live and learn..
geez , i even gave him everything extra i could find i had for the car too ( minus few suspensio things id foubd today i offered to give him all he has to do is cover shipping is all )
it's unfortunate the buyer doesn't seem to do the work him self and as modified as this car is , it's not for the rite car for that.. it just what comes with a highly modified car.. thats why theres oem , am i rite ??
so now I'm all stressed the F out when I should have been happy to get cash in hand for my house down-payment but instead I'm stressing over this..
and me being me , even after he talked brazenly over text , I STILL offer to try and help and do what I can.
lol I don't learn my lesson do i ?
what are your guys opinions, you've followed this build , id like your thoughts...

loving my Lil 2x seater coupe.. stay posted in its build thread bud !
Man I'd hate to see that car go after all the work you've put in it! I'm in the same boat though. I upgraded too. Got me a 2005 R53 now, sold the R50.
saweeeeeeeet !
Pm a link if you got a build thread or text me if you got my # ( I forgot everyone who does now , lol ).
i look forward to checking it out...

unfortunately, quite the opposite.. see my post a few above..
As far as the buyer not being happy, he sounds clueless. You can't buy a built car and not have either deep pockets to farm out the work, or the knowledge to do it yourself. Thats the nature of the game. You gotta pay to play.
I'd say put him in touch with the racer that was willing to pay asking price for it. Yeah its hard to see something you put all that work into turn into a track car but at least it'll be owned and worked on by someone that understands what they have.
And yeah I started a thread on my new ride. Not much on it yet but I'll text you a link 👍
