I got my DLC cable and BMW software from here several years ago. If I remember correctly, it was a very long and confusing setup.
had a look. Thank you, sevin.
i was thinking there might be a thread here where the process is summarized?
But if not, I’ll try and google it and see where that goes. I think the software is available online or with the cables that I bought. Need to verify the version and the “daten”? files specific to r53 mini.
the search continues. Anyone have a bone they can throw me on this...any info is much appreciated
The CLICK HERE is the important part. Get that file, follow the instructions to the letter, and you should be able to connect. The most common failure is to not have a cable that connects pins 7 and 8. I bought one from a company called JahyShow off Amazon and soldered a short jumper wire between the pins.
This one you have to pay for but it includes NCS and INPA plus bonus ones and all datens. There is a sale on at the moment. I use this and it was plug and play with easy instructions. I am not affiliated with this company. Download links are almost instant and saved in the store for a few days/emailed to you.
Good luck. I have tried the GTECKO package and others and they are a nightmare to set up.
Here you are a INPA version, no need special install, just copy and paste all 4 folders in C drive. For Inpa diag sw,just open INPA folder, than BIN folder and execute Inpa .exe file.
Install INPA cable, use driver send by seller ans install instructions. https://mega.nz/#!4B9SlQJA!yCiZPHhhT...DqY0y2WS9LZ31o

Well after alot of reading. I got my INPA to work. Now I have an issue with ncs expert. Says my vin is invalid. Any thoughts?
What Profile you used?Usual need Expertmodus or Factory coding.
Try different profiles, must work. Here a small video how to use NCSExpert and NCS Dummy to recode EMS and BC.

Were you ever able to get the INPA files for the R53? I have INPA installed, but it only has BMW specific cars in the list
Nevermind, I was able to get it working, didn't run the dataload exe. Must run in WIndows Compatibility Mode if you are running in WIndows 10

I installed the GTECKO package and it seems some of the R50 (and R53) files are missing. I copied the LADEN.BAT file from the R56 Datens, edited to R50 and ran that but still no chassis options showed up so I edited the INPA.INI. Then it says it can't find R50.ENG. Any help? Tried several other packages as well.

Hey guys.. what's it called when you turn off the car and for like 20min the front little lights in the bumper and the lights on the fenders and fender trim stay lit ? I've always wanted to deactivate that and my daytime running lights which I see is an obvious option. I know it doesn't draw much current on those lights as they are barely lit, can only see them in almost pitch black and I'm sure it's a safety feature but I live where everywhere is lit by streetlights , even the freeway and I garage my car

I used Windows 7 but not sure that matters.
Last on the cable put the switch all the way to the right (I'll upload a pic)
Sorry to revive this thread but above, adriancl says to use driver sent by seller. Instructions @bimmerforums, linked by ssoliman, say use drivers but not from cd. Looks like the reason is that INPA at bimmerforums is modified to better work with Windows 10. Is this correct? I will be installing on Windows 7 laptop. Want as little fuss as possible...
