We need JL to redo this box for the R56!! There lots of space on the passenger side behind the fack panel. EMAIL them, the squeeky wheel get the grease!

Ok, this sub looks like it must have a very shallow depth to it... how deep is this enclosure? How wide/long, how much air space, what driver? I do like the idea of a box at the bottom... seems cleanest... but probably not enough space for a 10" and a big amp....

mounting depth for the boston g1 10" is 4.75". It has been replaced with a rockford fosgate p3sd210 which has a mounting depth of 3.5 inches.

Thanks for the quick reply... ok, I guess the 2nd gen has a much deeper back than my 05 S ... or did you find another place for the battery? I guess if I took out the battery, I would have ALLOT of space !

For those who don't care about boot space...

13.5" JL Audio 13w1v2 (powered by 200W RMS off my 5-channel Alpine amp).

Well, I ended up mounting the amp to the seatback instead of the more complicated under passenger seat location. Sounds good, and I can still put stuff in the hatch. [/

I think I'm going to put an aftermarket head unit into my mini, where can you find a wire harness?

i have a Focal 11" sub myself, the K2 Power 27 KX and i love it... sounds cleaner than the two Sony Xplodes i use to have in my older car. its in a normal sealed box with no fancy install like most of you guys though

Ok, reporting back, so I used to the same box I had the JL in but this time around I decided to Poly-Fil the box before I put in the Focal and well, it hits a lot harder and cleaner than the JL did, well I guess it's also cause the price is A LOT more than the JL

Well if you really don't need to use that boot you can always go this route. This was the install Traffic Jammz did for me on behalf of Diamond Audio when my car was used for their demo car for 02 and 03. The sub system consists of two 10" tdk's and powered a D7104 amp . I have recently removed it to make room for the solenoid box for he paddle shifter system and will have to go with a much more mild set up. I came here to get some ideas and have fond some good ones so thanks for that . I have a bad habit of being a pack rat and not selling anything but I might let this all go at some point. If I do I will post up a message here and in the market place.

I built a "down-firing" enclosure so I can still use the space without worrying about damaging the Sub OR the Amp. The enclosure houses a ported space for the 10" and with what space was left, I installed the amp. Using quick disconnects, I can remove the whole 40 pound thing in under a minute.

old school Kicker S10d in a JL Stealthbox

The enclosure installed. I also cut the boot lid so I could access the battery without having to remove the stealthbox.
