Just got my new 2012 Justa with MINI Connected, and it's working better than I thought it would. This thread has been a big help - understand MOG now (just downloading app) and now understand Google Send to Car. Awesome.
Btw, I found a company that has mini connected video while driving! here is my forum if anyone is interested. Im thinking of being a vendor for them, but they need a ginnea pig car!

I still don't get it
Im young enough at heart to enjoy technology, just too old to understand it.
So I got a MINI with connect but I cannot seem to get the google send to car. It doesn't show up on my phone app nor my car menu. Not a big deal, but would like to have all the toys available. Any patient enthusiasts willing to help an old fart?

Now google search works ok, but that is initiated from the car to the device.
You can only send the map location from a computer. I usually find where I am going on google maps online. Then you can choose to send it to car. Choose the make and the enter the name you used to log on to mini connect on your phone. When you get in the car you can then choose the location under google send to car.

I must be doing something wrong. I believe I followed the instructions in google maps correctly using my nickname for my mini connect account. However, I do not see anything about google on either my iphone connect app nor on the vehicle connect. Argh!!!

new dock conector on new iPhone 5, so any guess when we will get a new cable for our MiniConnect?
I use google send to car all the time

Yes, Google Send to Car is a fantastic feature.
> so any guess when we will get a new cable for our MiniConnect?
My guess: just about when the iPhone 6 comes out.
But seriously, not only is the lag time for map updates and cables truly awful but the markup on these things is ridiculous.
My hope is that there will be an adapter that will work with iPhone5 and MINI Connect (assuming the rumors are true and the iPhone5 really does have a new connector).

As a former Bluetooth Audio Test Engineer, I can tell you there is indeed an impact on quality using Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP) profile.
There is a finite amount of bandwidth that Bluetooth can use, and depending on the phone and the pre-set bitrate settings, the quality will not be as good as on the cable. This coupled with your source files likely also compressed creates what you are hearing.
The upside is, its wireless and very convenient to use.

I don't have any hard facts on this. However I feel the sound is lacking over Bluetooth. I have an iPhone 4 and the hi-fi setup in the Mini. Satellite radio is phenomenal quality, plugging the iPhone cable into the USB jack also produces great quality. Over bluetooth.....could use some help. Again, nothing scientific here, just what my ears believe.

IPOD cable and Armrest togeather?
I just ordered an R60 with MINI connected and stumpted my salesman.
Can you leave an IPOD plugged in with the cable for music and then
plug your IPHONE in the armrest for connected and phone use? He didn't have an IPHONE or armrest adaptor to try it out and said he had never had anyone ask about this before.
Thanks.

This may or may not help but I can describe how I have everything connected and use it...
I have an iPod Nano connected to the Y cable that I use to load podcasts onto that I listen to. This stays connected most of the time.
In my armrest I have a iPhone 4 with a cracked screen that I have music loaded onto. This seldom leavesd the armrest. This is also where I have the Mini Connected apps loaded that I sometimes fire up.
I also have an iPhone 4S that I carry with bluetooth enabled.
I can access music and features off all 3 of those devices and they will all show up seperatly under the auxillery sources part of the audio system. I can have mini connected apps running on the armrest while listening to audio off the nano and make a bluetooth call on the phone in my pocket. I honestly haven't fiddled with bluetooth audio so I can't speak to how that works with 3 devices at once.

MINI Connected Bluetooth
There's also a screen where switching primary and secondary phones is possible.
Four phones can be paired to the system and two can be connected simultaniously. I suppose that this will also allow music to be played from one or both devices as well.
There's a software update for the car end of MINI Connected and I tried but it didn't seem to change anything for email. Like you, I'm running iOS6 (Beta 4) on an iPhone 4S. Now I see that there may be a software update to the connected app and I can't wait for the end of the work day so I can try it out.
