that is an iphone cable.. it fits all iphones

 

We have 2 different Y cables available for the Mini and only one will work with the Connect system so I'm just asking because on that site there are different cables depending on iphone 2/3/3gs or 4/4s. I'd like to order one that's compatible for the 4s but when you try to navigate through the site to ask for assistance it's really difficult.

well that on works for all mini apps.. Never buy mini's cable's. the same cable that is $4 there is $78 through mini and its 4 inches long and it breaks easily... can you say ripoff

 

Did connected just add more gauges? I'm still waiting for my '12 to come in but the app updated and it sounds like the car will have a few more gauges through the connected app hope I'm right.......

 

I put my JCW away for the winter, but I wanted to see this new update. I did not drive the car, but it looks like the new update gives you a digital engine temp gauge. It also gives you the choice of either engine rpm or engine torque in a gauge. It also lets you customize mission control. You can choose to have up to 3 different options of it play. For instance you can have it tell you vital engine things, climate control things and entertainment things. you can mix and match or have all three.

Now the bad part. It seems like you can either have the gauges and mission control or the infotainment like twitter and facebook. You can not do both. You must unplug the iphone and change it in the app, then plug it back in. For example when you are in the gauges you do not have the option for facebook.

 

Yep! "Driving Excitement" seems to be the big change - digital gauges for horsepower and torque (or engine speed). I can see this being the start of a series of digital gauges in the vein of the GT-R's Polyphony Digital type display.

Just plugged it in to see the display. I haven't taken it for a drive to see it in action.

 

Do the new gauges only work with the snap in adapter?

 

The gauges are based upon the accelerometer in your mini.. It's really all for look.. Major delay!!

 

Updated Version 2.2.0 of the app is on the street now...anyone have the chance to exercise it yet?

Nope, works fine with the Y-cable.

 

Issue with the new "Driving Excitement" app in the mini connect. You cannot change radio stations from the steering wheel when this is selected.

 

Ya you can. I do it all the time. You just can't see the stations

 

Have you tried to see if the measurement matches your car? I mean I have a JCW, and max power i get is 184 bhp and 260nm. Strange... Is it the same for those who have a JCW?

I get 211 Hp and 192 torque on my 11 r60 all4

It does not seem terribly accurate as the torque figure seems to plateaue at 192 very early - its is interesting is that is I believe the max stated torque number during over boost an was curious if it was a calculate vs real number just base of rpm.

But more difficult to see what's happening at peak HP as I am busy trying not miss shift at redline but it to seems to

 

yeah the gauges are just for show. today my torque guage went to 280 while my hp was at 25 lol. but they look good.. i just use the oil temp gauge and even that one is really off

 

I have the selection on my "presets" and I cannot move between them.

 

interesting... I read this post last night but it was below freezing and I wasn't willing to go out and check it. This morning, I did and I'm able to change between stations on AM, FM and Satellite radio.

As far as the gauges? They seem to be working okay for me. I'm not sure how accurate the HP and Torque can be since it usually takes a dyno to read them. Perhaps it's showing the demand?

 

i have a 2011 JCW with 211 hp but it only shows 184hp . Why????

 

Please read my last post... People lets not be stupid. This is not a real gauge. It's just for your entertainment. So don't get anything in a bunch cause it says something you don't like.. Sorry I had to be so blunt but really...

 

Still not able to change my stations from my steering wheel when I have the radio selected to "Presets" that have FM and Sat stations in it, WHILE I have the new "Driving Excitement" gadges displayed on the screen. Once I leave this screen, the steering wheel buttons return to normal.
