WTF is going on?
The changed the hardware after 03/2011. It onl works from the arm rest, same for minimalism.

Will it work if you have a case on your phone?

He has a switcheasy Reptile case.

I am confused now. Do you need the snap-in module for all functions prior to or after 3/2011?

Iphone4

My mini was delivered in the end of January and, as far as I know, everything works from the iPhone using only the Y cable.

The only things that do not work are the minimalism and the mission control.

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but it sort of deals with everyone with Mini connected.

I would like everyone to check where there fuel gauge is. Do you have a tiny arrow next to your icon of a fuel pump that points to show you the side your fuel cap is on? Does it ever light up? I noticed this the other day and could not find it in any online pictures.

It comes on when the fuel is low, I think around two bars.

Has anyone tried to see if the "Plugin" feature works with the current generation iPod classic?

Mini Connected or Not?

Can anyone provide some advice as to whether Mini Connect is really worth it? I want to be able to use my phone in the car via Bluetooth (I have an iPhone4), and easily control music, see and select what's playing, etc., from either my phone or an iPod. I'm told that you can do this without Mini Connected, so am wondering what the advantage of spending the extra $ would be? I am not into a lot of social networking, so those features would not be worth it for me.

Really appreciate any insights.

I honestly rarely use most of my connected functionality. However the functions that I do use are totally worth it. I love the iPod interface. I also occasionally use pandora. Tue other feature I like is the Google Send to Car feature.

Thank you. If you get a phone call while using one of the apps, does the app automatically resume following the call?

Correct. Music pauses and calls take priority. At the end of the call music resumes. I now use an iPhone 4 but previously had a 3GS. I have had great functionality with both. Despite other reports of call clarity from other users, I have had excellety clarity with this system and zero complaints from people on the other end.

I have connected with Nav. I only keep an iPod touch plugged in. Connected gives you the large easy to read display to choose your music source, from between the iPod, FM or satalitte radio. you also get the album cover art in the display when a song is playing. Skip the Nav if you won't use it very much but get connected for the display.

Without connected, you can have the same choices (except no album art) but they are diplayed in the 2 red lines of text at the bottom of the speedo. They are not as easy to read and navigate and they are especially hard to read if you are wearing polarized sun glasses

On my 2008 without nav the ipod feature sucked. If you wanted to listen to an artist that started with an S you had to go into artists. Then you had to scroll through all of the artists starting with A. I have 412 artist on my phone. You were turning that **** forever. With Connected you can tell it to search all artists that start with S, or actually enter that artists name.

Thanks everyone, for all of the advice. I am going to test drive a new Mini a little later this afternoon, so am trying to be as prepared as possible on various options. Now I just need to decide on Hardtop vs. Clubman! Thanks again.

Have they added "MOG" functionality to MINI Connected?

All the reviews I'm seeing for the new MINI Coupe are stating that they did. In fact, I saw a video on AutoBlog that actually shows it in use. I am curious because I have MINI Connected coming in my Coupe and I will subscribe to it if it exists.

Anyone know?

Thanks!

Hey guys. New poster here.
I just got a 2012 Countryman S w/ connected and there's one thing that's been driving me crazy.

How do I read posts/tweets/news that is longer then the initial 2-3 lines of text that display on the screen?
I noticed that when I let the car read them to me it reads the entire post/article but when viewing it I can only see the first few lines.

Help?

Cheers!

The car must have the parking brake on if stick. I would assume in park if automatic.
