Welcome Tank251, as I noted, your welcome to come out Saturday, see if you like the group and have some fun driving your MINI.

Promise the ride lead will not go blast off like he or she is on the track.

Nice specs on your Cooper, need to see it in person and see some pictures.

I'm Official!

Yes!. I have received my member packet so I am now an official member.

After I wash my car I will either put the sticker on or the magnet. I am guessing that the magnet is for a badge holder. I don't have one and I am not sure I will get one. I don't like stickers usually but this one is cool and small. So it wouldn't bug me much. However, I am wondering if the magnet can be put on the boot without falling off or hurting the paint. Anyone know?

Welcome again, Comet is a sweet looking Cooper. The Grill Badge holders come in various flavors, I got mine from Schomp MINI, both dealers sell them.

An alternative is the badge holder that fits to the license plate holder, it is a nice addition and comes in multiple flavors, try American MINI Mates. I have a link if you want to send me a PM or search the vendor area here on NAM.

Hopefully see you in Feb. on one of the drives.

OhHiThere! :-)

Hello All!

WHEN did you get your MINI? July 29, 2011
WHAT is your MINI name? Gus (Like the little fat mouse from Cinderella)
WHAT color or colors is your MINI? Royal Grey, Silver Roof
What options did you get on your MINI? Sport Package and Premium Package
WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini? Potentially. Small things only though. I can't intimidate my clients. ;-)
WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? Used from a private party who was the 2nd owner and babied the car to say the least.
WHY did you get a MINI? Because it reminds me of my 87 VW GTI that I miss SO much.. and I'm stoked about being in the enthusiast world again with great people!
WHAT part of town will you be seen in? ALL over. Primarily Broomfield/Westminster, however I drive all over the Metro area for my job and LOVE driving anywhere for events.
WHAT types of events would you likely be involved in? Eeeeeevverything! :-)
WHAT can MINI5280 do for you? Be a great barrel of FUN.
and more...

I am so excited to finally come out from under my rock after owning a Passat wagon for just under 2 years (UGH). I used to be very involved in VW/Audi events, some BMW driving events, and a few SCCA autox events with my Mk2 GTI that I owned for my first 7 years of driving. Some may know me as "Zippy" from those days. Also, Bluefox is pretty much my long lost brother, so naturally it's time for me to reunite with him and up the redheadedness of this club environment.

Look forward to meeting everyone and enjoying some motoring!
Christina (/Zippy)

HA! Christina; good to see you! I saw that you picked up a MINI but didn't know if you're still around.
Glad to see you've made the jump over.

Hi folks,

Was directed here by a buddy. Just ordered a 2012 MINI Cooper S Roadster. Test drove the one at Schomp yesterday, and was literally cackling with glee for most of the ride. I don't think I've ever had such an awesome drive. As an ex-pat Brit, it makes me grin to see all the UK stuff everywhere in the dealership. Looking forward to being a part of the community.

WHEN did you get your MINI (or Mini)?

Ordered it yesterday. Looks like it will delivered in May, if all goes well.

WHAT is your MINI or Mini's name?

Not sure yet. I've always thought that you need to drive a car before knowing what her name will be.

WHAT color or colors is your MINI?

British Racing Green / Silver / Chrome

What options did you get on your MINI?

Cold Weather Package (heated seats, heated mirrors/washer jets, power folding mirrors)
Sport Package (17" alloys, Xenon headlights, white turn signals, DTC)
Sport suspension
Chrome-line interior/exterior
Wind deflector
Silver sport stripes
HK premium sound system with bluetooth/USB functionality

WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini?

Absolutely. The stiffening bar may be an immediate addition. I'll consider adding the JCW tuning kit down the road if I want a bit more kick.

WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used?

Schomp. Hadn't dealt with them before, but it has an incredibly pleasant experience thus far. Obviously it was a new buy.

WHY did you get a MINI or Mini?

Have you seen the Roadster? I grew up in the UK with Minis running around. I liked the new ones, but honestly considered them a bit too cutesy (despite hearing how much fun they were to drive). The Roadster has unbelievably pretty lines though, and the combination of convertible, turbo-charged, manual transmission, and super-fun drive made the buy a no-brainer.

WHAT part of town will you be seen in?

Primarily over by the Anschutz Medical Campus area, although I tend to get around throughout the city. I also head down to Colorado Springs occasionally. I'll be leaving the state at the end of May for military service, but I'll be back eventually!

WHAT types of events would you likely be involved in? (choices are things like weeknight events, food rides, mountain rides, autocross, track days, weekend events, food only, tech talks, etc. Feel free to make up your own.)

Probably casual rides/meet-ups would be a lot of fun.

WHAT can MINI5280 do for you?

I've always appreciated a fun, genial community, and I hear this is one. Always nice to be around like-minded folks. Also, am I the only one who reads this question and immediately hears the ghost of JFK saying "Ask not what MINI5280 can do for you, but what you can do for MINI5280"?

WHEN did you get your MINI (or Mini)?
-Feb 21, 2012. The day after President's Day.

WHAT is your MINI or Mini's name?
-No name yet. We're still pondering.

WHAT color or colors is your MINI?
-Chili red, white roof.

What options did you get on your MINI?
-Sunroof, cold weather package, bluetooth.

WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini?
-Yep, probably...that seems like half the fun. Starting small with badges (not sure if that counts), maybe a new antenna, maybe modify the A Panels, and then see what happens.

WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used?
-Ralph Schomp. New.

WHY did you get a MINI or Mini?
-We got one, by accident, as a rental car last April on a trip to France. Before that, I hadn't really thought about cars as fun - they were what took me from point A to point B. But after a few days zipping around, we were pretty much hooked. The handling was amazing, it was as fast as it needed to be on the highways, the interior was exotic...and I just kept smiling the entire time I was driving it. I quenched the craving for nearly a year - didn't think it would be financially smart - but after a friend of mine talked about his new car (which happened to be the 5th Mini he's owned), the urge came back, and we took the plunge.

WHAT part of town will you be seen in?
-We're in SE Denver, but hopefully all over.

WHAT types of events would you likely be involved in? (choices are things like weeknight events, food rides, mountain rides, autocross, track days, weekend events, food only, tech talks, etc. Feel free to make up your own.)
-Weekend rides, mostly. Would like to meet other owners, check out their cars, and get out and enjoy the cars and the camaraderie.

WHAT can MINI5280 do for you?
-I'm looking for knowledge - what works, what doesn't, where to buy this or that, all that sort of stuff. And when I've reached a point where I can contribute back to the community, I certainly will do that.
