Hi everyone. My name is Dean and I just picked up my second MINI on 11/11/09. My first was a 2003 MCS JCW I bought new, but sold it in 2004 to buy a house. I moved to CO from CA in 2006 and have wanted another one ever since. I finally broke down and ordered my new MINI in September. My first MINI was named Stewy. My new one I kept calling Stewy-2, but I call him Tüi for two-ey, as in my second Stewy.

Hey y'all. My name is Trace. I have recently decided that I'd like my next car to be a MINI. The only thing I have that is "cooper" are the set of tires on my explorer.
When we were at Copper Mtn a few years ago, we saw all those mini-coopers there. That was so cool!
I have test driven 2 MC's at Heuberger Motors(used) in the Springs and 2MC's at Ralph Schomp(new) in Denver w/in the last few months.
I know I like the manual transmission!
I am leaning towards purchasing used when I have saved up enough.
Just wanted to say hi.

Just moved from Germany, and the speed limits here are killing me, but hopefully the mountains will make it better...

 

We have a lot of members down in the Springs Floogin. See if you can make a ride or two. It's fun and a great way to meet some MINI folks. We even have some members fluent in German if you have a hankering.

Well, guess I'll throw my bit in here since I finally have a new Mini, but have been a NAM member for a year now. Planning on sending in my 5280 app at the end of the month, so please be looking for it. This is my first "new" Mini, though I've owned a total of 4 "classics" back when I was in the military and stationed in England (just outside Oxford) 1987-1991.

• WHEN did you get your MINI? Ordered it July 31st and took delivery Oct 8th...the first 2010 to arrive in Colorado.
• WHAT is your MINI's name? I really haven't named it, though my wife calls it Squirt.
• WHAT color is your MINI? CR/CR, nearly all black interior.
• What options did you get on your MINI? It's a 2010 MCS with Auto/Anthracite HL/Xenons/Alarm/Heated Mirrors/Rear Fogs/White Lenses/Clear Bra/Tinted Windows/Sport Tips/Premium ResistAll. I've installed Euro Armrest/JCW Strut Bar/NM Turbo Heat Shield/16x7 Rota RBs with 215/50-16s.
• WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI? Nothing much else, maybe some different speakers someday.
• WHERE did you get your MINI? Ordered through Schomp
• WHY did you get a MINI? Loved the "new" MINI since it came out and have always wanted one...just never stepped up and did it.

These cars are good for daily driver and my "just a cooper" gets gas mileage darn neer a hybrid, and a blast to drive.

Too bad the snow storm had to blow in, but lots of sunny days ahead to put some miles on that MINI.

I ordered my JVC cd player yesterday KDr-900

I am going to schedule my tint appointment for the 20% tint. I have my focal speakers on my wish list on amazon.com for 6.5" components in the front and the focal 6x9" speakers in the back. The R53 does use 5.25" in front and 6x9" in back right? I have heard you can modify the fronts to fit 6.5" components.
