Hi All!

I thought I'd introduce myself after joining MINI5280 and NAM and just lurking for too long. My name is Tom Cowden and I purchased my new (to me) MCS in May. I've been a BMW club member for years and have participated in driving events, including Driving Schools, autocross, and tours, so I look forward to doing the same with the MINI.

So here's some info for you:

Model: 2007 MCS with JCW Aero Kit
Color: Pepper white/Pepper white
Stripes: Aesthetic Creations black pinstripe full front and rear
Name: No name as of yet.
Factory Options: Just about all of them.
Mods: Just a few so far, but more to come (I can't seem to leave anything well enough alone!) I plan to post some of the details on the main board when I get the chance.

Source: I found the car at a dealer in NJ through eBay. Checked it out as well as I could, crossed my fingers and bought it. I couldn't be happier with the condition. It had 20k miles but was in essentially new condition.

New Home: It now lives in Lone Tree (south metro area).

Events: I hope to join you all whenever possible. With three kids all in school with lots of weekend activities, it's often difficult to coordinate all of the competing schedules.

I just got my own Indi Blue 2004 MINI Cooper S w/ an Aero Kit.

• WHEN did you get your MINI (or Mini)? I got my MINI today at 3:48 pm 7/9/2009
• WHAT is your MINI or Mini's name? His name is BLU BY U
• WHAT color or colors is your MINI? Indi Blue with the matching body color roof
• What options did you get on your MINI? Aero Kit, Harmon Kardon sound system with the iPod adapter and two tone blue/gray leather heated seats.
• WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini? Already done!, They include an Alta 15% pulley, an Alta Cold air intake with an Alta blue silicone pipe, it has had the chip programmed, JCW front struts, after market webspoke 17" wheels and has a custom auto up program for the drive/passenger windows.
• WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used? I got it used from a private seller out of Vail, that bought it from a performance tuner shop in TX.
• WHY did you get a MINI or Mini? We bought our 1st MINI in 2007 after we sold our 1998 Eclipse Spyder, and test drove the new Eclipse Spyder and a MINI, from there we were hooked, and I wanted one to add to our 1st for myself. Now we have two.
• WHAT part of town will you be seen in? You can see me and BLU BY U in Northern Colorado, mostly between Loveland and Longmont, and MINI5280 club events.
• WHAT types of events would you likely be involved in? (choices are things like weeknight events, food rides, mountain rides, autocross, track days, weekend events, food only, tech talks, etc. Feel free to make up your own.) I will be driving mine now to all the events we go to already. Definatly HPR
• WHAT can MINI5280 do for you? Keep up the great work!

What options did you get on your MINI? Ha! well you would think I would have this memorized since I've been on the MINI site building all types of possiblities. I was lucky enough to find one that matched me. Dual sunroof, heated seats, ipod capable, bluetooth, moodlighting..oh wait..I was told that was a standard feature..but still cool!!
WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini? Possibly, I'm new to the world of MINI.
WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used? Ralph Schomp. Slightly used.
WHY did you get a MINI or Mini? My friends Rudebox and Blu By U said they would buy me a six pack of beer if I did... Actually, I was lucky enough to motor with them and enjoyed listening to their experiences on MINI runs. I like the sporty build, the quick turns, the zoom factor and how it can put a smile on a face.
WHAT part of town will you be seen in? I will be around Denver, CO and Northern, Co with my friends RudeBox and Blu By U.

• WHEN did you get your MINI (or Mini)? Ralph Schomps annual sale, on July 14th, 2009. Rather than being jealous, the wife and I traded both of our trucks in on a 2009 MINI Cooper S and 2008 MINI Cooper Clubman S.
• WHAT is your MINI or Mini's name? Our Cooper is named Noir, and I don't think the Clubman has a name just yet.
• WHAT color or colors is your MINI? The Cooper is Midnight Black metallic with Tuscan Beige Interior. The Clubman is Dark Silver with the Rooster Red Interior and Black Bonnet Stripes.
• What options did you get on your MINI? On our Cooper, I got the Convenience, Cold Weather, and Sports Packages, LSD, Tuscan beige seats and interior, MINI Hifi, and 17" web spokes. The wife's clubman has the Premium, Sports, and Convenience packages and the Navi system.
• WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini? Absolutely.
• WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used? Our 2009 Cooper S was brand new, and our 2008 Clubman S had 11k miles, both from Ralph Schomp up in Littleton.
• WHY did you get a MINI or Mini? These are our second and third MINI Coopers. My first was Mathilda, my old 2005 Pepper White MINI Cooper S. Originally we sold Mathilda because we had our daughter and couldn't fit her stroller in the boot. (still regret selling her)
• WHAT part of town will you be seen in? Fort Carson, CO. Now that we have three MINI Coopers (03 Cooper S, 09 Cooper S, 08 Clubman S) here at 10th SFG(A), we might start up a small 10th SFG(A) MINI Cooper Club!

New to the MINI world. Recently purchased an '05 Cabrio for my lovely wife. I think the influence from a trip to England was the deciding factor. Started looking at classic Mini's but decided that might be abit small. The moderm MINI was more to our liking. Next decision---a convertable. My request, a six speed S. As it turns out we are very pleased with our purchase from Southeast Motors. The cab has 35k miles, and I would like to thank the previous owner for installing the Alta pulley, intercooler and CAI. It is my wifes car to drive and mine to take care of. She is quite happy with the tone of the supercharger when she is riding around topless. She claims a topless ride percentage of 80%. No mods planned for the future, but maybe some restripe work, probably leaning towards checkered stripes. We are from the Longmont area and can be seen between there and Estes Park and up into Wyoming.

Abolutely a car that will put a smile on your face, everytime you get in it.

 

We'd love to see the car. Will you be bringing it up to MITM4 www.MINIsintheMountains.com next week?

Unfortunately not. Overbooked through the summer, family, garden season and work.
