Take a close look at Florence, UJ theme (nice), Mini-do-more, roof rack, looks pretty modded to me.

I guess we should ask if they intend to mod for speed, track, twisties.

Nice MINI, I have seen it a couple of times in my area.

We had the opportunity to meet at MITM at the Dillon event and discussed the high speed driving instruction/track opportunity.
I want to say that I approached the MITM event with some caution as a previous car club experience resulted in encounters with shall we say some rather eccentric people. Certainly not the case with MITM. I enjoyed the event and in particular the community of people who attended the event.

My background
Grew up in Denver, lived in Evergreen for a time, left for the San Francisco Bay Area of California and lived there for many years before returning to Colorado in 1999. Have owned a MG Midget, and Triumph GT250 back in the 70's.

Bought my HC/Black Clubman S in May of 2009.
Awesome car that's all I'll say. Mini drivers own their cars for a small variety of reasons that I don't need to elaborate on. I work in sales so I drive all over the metro area.

I am the head cook of a barbecue team known as Pig Floyd that does local competitions. You are a KCBS judge, interesting.

I have been brewing my own beer for many years and share it at barbecue events. The head brewer at the ballpark brewery at Coors field is a barbecue team participant and has sampled my beer with very positive results.

I look forward future events.

We are glad that you found

MITM to be a good experience. Over the last 6 odd years I too have had many great experiences with this (evolving) group of folks. And made some good friends.

Please come out often. The MINI5280 Calendar in NAM is the best place for events, as is the MINI5280 monthly newsletter. Request one from the Prez at President@MINI5280.org....

See you soon.

New to me 2006 Mini Cooper S Convertible Pepper White

Hey Ladies and Gentleman,

I just purchased a 2006 Mini Cooper S Convertible!! It has 31000 miles on the clock, and it looks to be in great condition. I picked it up off Auto Trader from a local private seller in Colorado Springs (which is where I live). Its completely loaded with options including:

Navigation
Cold Weather Pkg (heated seats, windshield wiper fluid etc)
Harmon Karmon Stereo
Automatic Transmission with paddle shifters/tiptronic
Leather Seats with Orange Stitching (which looks incredible!!)
etc.

I have already purchased Mini Cooper S OEM Rubber floor mats, as well as an OEM Sunshade! I'm sure were going to go nuts.

I'm very excited and hope to have a lot of good times with this car. My wife is super excited since it will be her car (for the most part ). I'll be talking to you guys soon I'm sure!! I can't wait to meet you guys!

You can see pictures of my new Mini Cooper S in the Forums Page under 1st Gear!! Look for Just purchased a new 2006 Mini Cooper S Convertible!!

Thanks,

Branden/Erin

Welcome Heinz,

I'm new as well. It seems to be a good group!

As for "Old81" there are some pics of my new Mini in my Gallery. I tried to post photos on this thread but the website won't let me because I already posted the photos on a different Thread "1st Gear" under the main Forums area.

I'm definelty interested in meeting everyone! I know someone who is part of the club already, so I'm excited for the next trip!

Branden, Thanks I browsed your gallery, nice very nice! I saw your on the Estes meeting/pizza drive, calendar entry.

Welcome Heinz, I have seen a gold Cooper in Louisville, but not sure if it was a black top over gold. The Cooper would go round High Plains well, too.

New Member MINI 5280

Hello MINI 5280,

My name is Robert and I'm crazy about MINI Coopers.
I got my 09' MC Hardtop from RALPH SCHOMP MINI on 07/15/09.
It's Sparkling Silver with Black.
I joined 5280 last month and my first club event will be "YALLA,YALLA" in ten days.
I kind of think it would be fun to have a "R53" Cooper S. I've been reading alot about 15% pulleys and CAI's and a little bummed I cant do any of that to my "R56 Cooper". But it gets great gas mileage thuogh.
I live in Longmont and work in Denver on the BNSF Railroad at I-25 and 38th AVE/Park Avenue. I usualy take the "Diagonal" and "Boulder Turnpike".
I like MOTORING all over BOULDER COUNTY so thats where you will see me and my 09' MC S/S I've unofficially named "Khaki MINI" because the Sparkling Silver to me is more of a light gold or khaki color.
Anyway thats all for now, see every one next week.

Happy Motoring!

RLM

Welcome to the club Robert, Yalla Yalla is a great event and a great way to jump into the activities of MINI5280 (it was our first event last year). As it is a blast to be an owner (or be owned) by an R53, I had the opportunity to test drive an R55 (Clubman) S this summer at Mini's in the Mountains and I love the new models as much as the older ones. Glad to have you aboard we'll be sure to introduce ourselvs at Yalla Yalla!

new to the crew

I got my 09' MCS about 2 week's ago, named her money penny. She's dark silver with a black roof and black bonnet stripes. I got it with the cold weather and premium packages. Plan on modding it in the new future, will start with tires and wheels then go under the hood and suspension. I live in the springs and drive around frequently so you might see me around. Plan on attending yalla yalla on the 18th so if your going to be there, i'll see you around. I'm going to try and make it to as many local mini meets as possible. happy motoring!

New to NAM and MINI's

Derek Cloud (rkymtncloud)
Hello all, this is my first post on NAM and I'm excited about the world of MINI's! Saw a sticker for MINI5280 on another MINI so I looked you up and was interested in getting into a MINI club.

WHEN? Got my MINI Cooper S back in May this year.

WHAT NAME? Jenny

WHAT COLOR? Dark Gray

WHAT OPTIONS DID YOU GET? What it came with, its got the computer nav. system, multi function steering wheel, heated seats, dual sunroof, headlamp washers, leather seats

WHAT MODIFICATIONS WILL YOU GET? I'd like to get the cold air intake for it eventually.

WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR MINI? I got my MINI used from Essex South in Longmont.

WHAT PART OF TOWN WILL YOU BE SEEN IN? Thornton/ Northglenn/ Westminster areas mostly.

WHAT TYPE OF EVENTS WOULD YOU LIKELY BE INVOLVED IN? Weekend events, Mountain rides, food rides, track days, anything I can.

WHAT CAN MINI5280 DO FOR ME? Help with information on parts and tech work. But above all, get involved with other MINI maniacs!!

Thanks,
Derek Cloud (rkymtncloud)

Welcome Derek. You picked a great time to join since Yalla Yalla is on Sunday. It would be a great event to kick off your membership.
A navigator is recommended as is a passport and foreign currency. I can't tell you which foreign currency but I can promise there will be no intercontinental travel required. Make it if you can:
9:00 AM RTD Lincoln Station parking structure (top deck).
Free for members and $5 for wannabes.

Chuck

  • WHEN did you get your MINI (or Mini)?
  • WHAT is your MINI or Mini's name?
  • WHAT color or colors is your MINI?
  • What options did you get on your MINI?
  • WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used?
Well, don't own one just yet, however now actively looking for a R55 Clubman S or JCW package.
Looking for a Red, Blue, Brown, or Green exterior with colormatched or dark-colored interior... still reading up on alot!
Want at least the winter package for heated seats, and a 6-speed manual; past that I'm open to whatever is available.
  • WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini?
YES! When the time comes of picking one up, I already have created a heavy list of modifications for the said vehicle.
  • WHY did you get a MINI or Mini?
Always have a secret fettish with them, but was never able to pull the trigger in previous years due to price point and community following.
However after joining and meeting MANY of you all at the Yalla Yalla 2009 event, its a group I think I could totally blend with!
  • WHAT part of town will you be seen in?
All of Westminster, Broomfield, and the active route to Fort Collins.
  • WHAT types of events would you likely be involved in? (choices are things like weeknight events, food rides, mountain rides, autocross, track days, weekend events, food only, tech talks, etc. Feel free to make up your own.)
I love to host weekly / monthly get-togethers and actively participate in track days, mountain drive, tech-sessions, diagnostic assistance and just getting out and getting to know more about the Mini platform and the people behind them.
  • WHAT can MINI5280 do for you?
It's refreshing to see a automotive group that's active and encourages individuality and provides a welcoming atmosphere; with meeting several of you at YY'09, it was very noticable that all of you were very open and humble. Was great to ask beginner questions and not get stared down on.

Look forward to meet many more and hopefully be a Mini owner VERY soon!

- Erik
