I'm new! Bought an 04MCS on 10/5/07. She's Indy blue with black bonnet stripes. So fun!!! I had a beater Mini 20 years ago when I lived in England and have been wanting one since.

I tried to make it to Yalla Yalla too, but I got trapped by sleeping in. Seriously, I wanted to go, but I didn't have a navigator, and last time (different event, treasure hunt in Denver) was too much stress for me without one. Fun, but too much stress. I will try and get a navigator for next time.

• WHAT color or colors is your MINI? Pepper White/Black. Although I consider it more like "french vanilla" and black.
• What options did you get on your MINI? cold weather package, sports package, exterior chrome, anthracite interior and leather seats.
• WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini? perhaps
• WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used? bought my MINI new from Patrick MINI in Schaumburg, IL.
• WHY did you get a MINI or Mini? Style, gas mileage, handling, wasn't many of them around then, ease of street parking and lease was ended on old car- thank goodness.
• WHAT part of town will you be seen in? Cherry Creek, Glendale, Aurora
• WHAT types of events would you likely be involved in? (choices are things like weeknight events, food rides, mountain rides, autocross, track days, weekend events, food only, tech talks, etc. Feel free to make up your own.) food rides, mtn rides, weekend events, scavenger hunts-if any, picnics/barbecues, ski events.
• WHAT can MINI5280 do for you? introduce me to other fellow MINI motorers who are friendly around Denver since I am a new transplant from Ann Arbor, MI (home of the wolverines) and have not been able to meet other "friendly" MINI motorers.

Casper, did I see you last night at University and Cherry Creek Drive South? I was turning left on CCD and someone (male) in a white Mini was crossing the intersection in the left hand lane on University heading north. Mine is blue with black stripes on the bonnet. It was about 6:15 p.m.

It might be me... well my boyfriend was probably driving Casper and I was the passenger. I do live around the area... only thing that you might recognize is that Casper doesn't have a front CO license plate and a small Michigan sticket decal in the rear passenger window. I have seen a blue MINI w/ black roof around... maybe I'll see you around and I'll wave. Dark tint windows of other MINIs and me driving a tad bit over the speed limit makes it hard to wave. Will keep eyes out for you next time.

Hi Everyone!! New to the club and new to posting but figure I'd answer the questions so you can all learn a little about me & my MINI!

WHEN did you get your MINI (or Mini)? October 17, 2007 - had to wait 6 weeks while she got shipped in from a dealer in Utah. (I was picky about what I wanted)
WHAT is your MINI or Mini's name? I named her Jezebel.
WHAT color or colors is your MINI? Pepper white. black bonnet stripes. black roof and mirrors
What options did you get on your MINI? Just about everything. She's an S with heated leather, moonroof, upgraded stereo, DSC, sport, 17" bridge spokes, blah, blah, blah. She's awfully cute and fun!
WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini? I got the windows tinted to match the roof. Very cool. Other than that - Not much else I want to do.
WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used? Brand new 2007 from Murray, UT
WHY did you get a MINI or Mini? My Mom raced british sports cars for years and I've always loved the MINI. Actually, a MINI was her first car. So, it's in the genes I guess.
WHAT part of town will you be seen in? Littleton & Lakewood. I'll be that flash of black and white zooming past.

I finally spoke to the guy who has a matching Mini to mine (indy blue, black bonnet stripes, sunroof). That hasn't stopped me from wanting to park near it whenever it visits Capitol Hill. Do you think there's something odd about that?

Actually from what I can tell that's not odd at all. Whenever I park somewhere I always come back to find that my MINI has made new MINI "friends" in my absence. It's never alone in the parking lot for long. Other MINI's find it and park right next to her.

Must be a MINI thing. It always makes me chuckle.

 

I always try to park next to another MINI if there is one around.

 

Yeah me too. Two reasons: 1) I'm hoping that the other MINI owner will be as OCD as I am and not bang the side of my MINI with their door. 2) Gives Matilda someone to talk too while I'm away.
Plus it looks cool to have multiple MINIs next to one another (makes other non-MINI drivers envious).

Hopefully we'll be seeing you at some events soon; though with winter closing in drives are becoming more scarce. There are still meetings and general fun though, so hopefully something grabs your attention.
