Welcome, I hope your Countryman gets here on time and shinny.

Good color choices, I think we would have 3 on drives off and on similar but unique.

Seems the green/white is pretty popular here in CO. This many I think warrants a support group of some sort.

Ha! I think we just have better taste than the rest of the country. Or we're trend setters!

Welcome to MINI5280. I will refrain from making a comment on green.

I am not sure a support group is what is needed. Funny jacket maybe.

Thanks Tank! I actually ordered the blue at first but changed it to green after seeing the green in person. I do still really like the blue.

Hey everybody, I thought I'd stop by and introduce myself.
I have a 2003 Mini Cooper S

I got my MINI March, 29 2012.

My MINI doesn't have a name!

My MINI is Dark Silver Metallic with the roof and mirror caps in Black.

I believe it has the cold weather package.

I already had the ALTA 15% supercharger pulley and the ALTA lightened crank pulley installed at Peak Eurosport. Along with the MSD coilpack,
Magnecor wires, and Brisk spark plugs. I am looking to do an exhaust and CAI soon.

My father has his auto dealers license so I went to the auction with him and got it.

My friend's dad had 2 MINIs a few years back and I thought they were sick. So I looked into them for awhile and finally ended up getting one of my own!

I'm in Castle Rock.

I'm down for whatever but food rides, tech talks, and weeknight events sound great!

I just want to learn more about MINIs and go on some rides with all you guys.

I look forward to meeting some of you!

Welcome Ritz, Nice to see another new/old MINI getting a new owner.

Come join us on some rides, we had a long one yesterday up into the Mountains.

Watch the Calendar and our FB pages for information on rides and general gatherings, we are on a Sonic kick for a few, but that will change in June I am sure.

Feel free to suggest a ride and gather some folks down your way.

Join MINI5280 if you have not done so or want too.

You can ride with us without being a member of the club.

Don

I was going to join you guys at Sonic last Wednesday but unfortunately my car was in the shop.

I liked the page on Facebook and will definitely attend any upcoming rides I can make it to.

I joined MINI5280 last week!

Nice seeing new folks posting.

If you do the RennTech ECU update, we would all like to know your thoughts afterwords.

Welcome to all of you, remember event in Colorado Springs by SOCOM and the MINI5280 even up on the north side of Denver, both are good choices, fun for all.

Hi, all! Just bought my Chili Red (black roof) 2004 Cooper today, hence I've decided to call her "Jubilee" in honor of Her Majesty's big celebration.

I'll be motoring around the Colorado Springs area - hope to see around town and here on the boards!

Duncan, welcome and remember to find the SOCOM group on FB and our MINI5280 fB group.

Pictures are great, another 2004 MINI finding a new home is always excellent.

Btw, SOCOM is based out of Colorado Springs, a few MINI5280 folks enjoy their events which are informal and fun.

Good to be here! I just joined the 5280 and SOCOM groups on FB, and hope to be able to join you on the Castle Ride so Jubilee can "socialize" appropriately.

New Denver area MINI owner

Hi all,

I bought a 2009 MINI Cooper S hardtop in January and have been really diggin' it. I'm near 136th and Colorado Blvd in the Denver area. Have had both water pumps replaced, and all 4 spark plugs (thank you, Wilson Towing). BimmerHaus in Broomfield did my brake system flush and replaced the micro filter.

Now MINI of Loveland says I need new front brakes at 42K miles. That seems unheard of. I leased an Audi TT for 4 years and never had any brake work done. What do you think?

You're right across the highway from myself; nice!

Were the repairs under warranty or out of pocket?

Not at all; the pad compound is softer and prone to faster wear.
Some JCW owners have done ~20K brake services without flinching.
But you can simply measure both the pad thickness and the rotor thickness and replace immediately or wait accordingly.

Thanks Erik!

The pumps were warranty/recall work. The brakes of course are on me. I think I'll have BimmerHaus take a look - MINI of Loveland wants $600+ to do them.

Wow, that's up there. Check with Peak Eurosport, and SCR Performance for some quotes as well on your MINI.
And remember, 4-wheel disc are easy to replace at home since the rotors / pads would be thrown away and replaced with new (no turndown on rotors).

Thanks again, Erik. I am not enough of a car freak to do any repair/maint. I'm a software guy and brakes just seem like a hardware problem (yuck, yuck). Plus my off-work passion is playing bass guitar. Between those things and being a family guy, I got my hands full! :-)

I'll check w. Peak & SCR though - thanks!
