Thanks Don, I have my calender marked for some upcoming events. Unfortunately the way I came across the MC40 is also what keeps me chained to the office, I am in the car biz. Short version is we bought an 03 MINI to put on the lot, the cars are now in our market niche price range, and I drove it for a weekend. I liked it enough that I put the word out for our buyers to keep an eye out for an MCS at the local wholesale auctions and dealer bid sales. Coincidently that same week was the "toy sale" at one of the auctions and I told the buyer to look around. He said there was a weird red MINI there with stickers on it. He described it, I Googled it, told him I wanted it and what I was willing to pay and was high bidder.

Nice, don't forget Sundays for MINI drives, with 5280 or just for fun for yourself.

Sunday is my day so far. Are there regular Sun. 5280 drives or random drives arranged between members that frequent this forum? I've been out the past two Sundays and haven't seen a MINI yet. When the weather becomes a little more predictable I'll want to be out more for sure.

 

Really? I see MINIs EVERYWHERE around here, especially in the Brighton area--I'm there very weekend. I almost think I might have seen you over the weekend...that car sure looks familiar. Give me a wave if you see me.

 

I'll keep an eye out, though I may have seen you a few weeks ago when I was driving the afore mentioned blue 03 MC that got me interested in buying one for myself. I know a dark colored MINI passed me waving, I was familiar with "the wave" from my days in Jeep's and Vette's. Other than that only MINI I've seen in the Brighton area since I bought mine was during the week, the owner of the car is a local businessman and he stopped by our place to look at the MC we had on the lot. He drives a nice blue MCS bearing the Union Jack on the roof and mirrors.

 

I get up to Brighton fairly often as my GF's works up there, and her parents live there, but i usually just haul thru town, but if you have any suggestions for extra detours, im all for it

other then brighton road, or riverdale, i remain ignorant

 

Hello! My name is Russ and my wife's name is Cassy. We are return members. We joined back in 2008 and owned a 2003 Cooper S. We did the Mini Castle drive that summer but then sold the car. We have just recently bought a 2007 Copper S. Here is a pic from the day we bought it.

We have signed up for MITM and will be at some of the other events as our schedule allows us. I have been at some of the Euro GTG's not in the Mini but in our VW R32.

What options did you get on your MINI? I'm leasing it and it came with a bunch of cool stuff! My favorite is the comfort entry thing - I don't even need to get the key out of my bag to unlock the door or start it! Bluetooth is cool too.
WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini? Since it's a lease, probably not.

Welcome all, everyone's still reeling a bit from MINIs in the Mountains but there will be a few events that you'll see pop up shortly.

 

Like the Pikes Peak Run, if I can get my insurance reinstated for 2 weeks, and get my tags up to date I'm in on that one.

• I'm trying my best to keep her stock as I spent a bucket load of $$$ on my last vehicle.
• Got her from Nick Alexander Mini/BMW in L.A.
• I have always loved Minis, and when BMW brought the MINI back I have been lusting after them. Time was finally right to pick her up.
• Living in S.W. Littleton, but work at I-25 and Evans and drive her all over Denver. Oh, and until October I'll be seen in Boulder quite a bit.
• Week night events, food rides and mountain rides.
• No sure what 5280 can do for me other than answer questions and give advice when I ask for it
