Bought it at Western Slope Subaru in Grand Junction, used. As I said earlier, it was a one-owner car with only 32K miles on it and was really nicely decked out. They said it was a John Cooper Works car, but I don't think it was as it was too early in the build for 2002. It did come with a spare set of rims and snowtires in addition to the JCW wheels with Conti's. It was a sweet deal!

• WHY did you get a MINI or Mini?

It was a reward for losing weight! We'd looked at lots of 2 seater/sports cars and 'Vettes were on the table but after we drove the MINI, we knew that was the ticket!

• WHAT part of town will you be seen in?

We live in Hotchkiss (western slope) so we're not in Denver that often with the MINI, especially in winter months.

• WHAT types of events would you likely be involved in? (choices are things like weeknight events, food rides, mountain rides, autocross, track days, weekend events, food only, tech talks, etc. Feel free to make up your own.)

We've already signed up for the AMVIV8 in Las Vegas. If the weather holds up this week, we'd like to join up at the Icicle Rally too. MITM in August will be on our calendar. I'm noticing more and more MINIs on the western slope so maybe getting them organized to host a western slope rally would be fun.

• WHAT can MINI5280 do for you?

We're just pleased that there's such a great base of MINI owners who get together to enjoy the fun. Haven't had any tech problems but once we meet some others who have "been there, done that" I'm sure it'll help.

I'm Stacy. I got my Mini last February, 2010 from Ralph Schomp. It is a 2006 Cooper S, Space Blue with Grey roof. I call my Mini "Bess" a lot so I guess that's her name. It came with a winter package, rally lights, and a MiniFini attachment. I am a Jeep girl, but needed something with better gas mileage. I have always liked the look of Mini's, but had to have one after seeing them speed around the HPR race track at a SCCA event. I love hugging curves, and look forwared to joining in on the runs planned. I am looking forward to the Leprechaun Run in a couple of weeks.

I've never named a car before... not sure if I'll start now. Will have to think on that.

- WHAT color or colors is your MINI?

Pepper White with a black top, and black sport stripes

- What options did you get on your MINI?

Premium package, Cold weather package, black leatherette, auto trans. I had the dealer add a clear bra, windows tint all around including the sunroof, and stripes.

- WILL you be doing modifications to your MINI or Mini?

I'll probably avoid any mechanical mods on this car (famous last words). I have already ordered some license plate frames, an armrest, multivex mirrors and a Whistler Pro-3600 integrated radar detector (because I'm going to get a ticket in this thing otherwise, lol).

- WHERE did you get your MINI or Mini? New? Used?

Brand new from Schomp Mini -- awesome experience with this dealer

- WHY did you get a MINI or Mini?

I was on my 3rd Mustang GT and wanted something a bit different this time along with good mileage.

- WHAT part of town will you be seen in?

I live in Evergreen, and normally can be found around the foothills.

- WHAT types of events would you likely be involved in?

I'd be interested in group drives / mountain rides, etc.

I'm just glad to see a club in the area, and looking forward to the warmer weather and hopefully some drives.

I have pics of the initial gathering at Sonic covered as long as the WILDEBEAST-3 makes it there. I just retuned the POS carburetor again, so the likelyhood of that happening is good, but not great. (YES I'm bringing tools and a tow strap, S*** DOES HAPPEN.)

 

and you should know that you are welcomed and invited to join our upcoming event, hosted by HPMS High Plains Motoring Society. The event is R4TH II Run for the Hills II, and it is a 3 day trip to Rapid City and the Black Hills of South Dakota area. This includes Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Devils Tower (WY), The Badlands, Custer State Park, Sturgis, and more.

If you are interested in our event that is scheduled for May 12, 13 and 14 then we will grant you access to our site. Just PM me your name and email and that is all we need.

So, just now joining this area. I've been in NAM for a little bit now after I got my R56. I've recently traded that in for an R60, and figure it's time to start seeing whats going on in the community.
