GK,

Most excellent. I'm not far behind you here. I wanted the Silver wheels which won't be in for another week or so, but I'm in the queue. Thanks for all your research efforts. I might have been more hesitant otherwise.

I've been corresponding with BBS in Brazelton, GA (USA) and the closest wheel they have that might clear the JCW Brembo calipers is the "RF"....but, that wheel needs a 40mm clearance from the mounting surface....I measured about 2"+ or at least 51mm!!! (Distance from disc to outside of the caliper). My JCW has under 500 miles so the pads are most likely about as thick as new....so, I'm wondering what the distance is on other wheels "without spacers"?

I'll have to measure the distance to my Cup Spokes curved vane spokes, but I'd guess about 5mm or so clearance. So that means about 56mm (at a minimum) seems about right for proper wheel clearance from the disc surface? Sound about right?

BBS said they would keep me posted when they develop a JCW compliant wheel. My bet is they will be expensive though (at least $700 each, likely more).

I sent BBS a note asking them to keep me posted. While their forged wheel will be expensive, they are excellent and I'd be thrilled to have a set on my car.

Well my custom RSe12 18x8 I had Jerry do up and NM springs came in tonight, wheels will definitely be going on tomorrow and then I'll get the springs on in the next week or so.

Those wheels look great! If you think about it would you take a measurement for me when your wheels are off? I need the distance from the mounting surface on the disc to the farthest point on the Brembo caliper. I'm guessing about 40mm. Hard to measure with the wheels on! ☺

Good luck with the install!

Thanks,

John

I'm getting a tire place to put them on in the morning, I'll ask them to see if they can measure it for me.

BBS RC 7.5 x 17 ET 43, machined out to suit fatter mini wheel hubs

Not what your looking at but might help a bit if talking to BBS directly as they will have full specs

I would suggest as so much clearance available that ET 48 would be ideal fit if they re-issued this wheel

Well I had the custom 18x8 RSe12 wheels put on this morning, I can feel the difference from the stock ones right off the bat and I really like the look, I can't wait to get my lowering springs on in a few weeks. Also sorry about the picture quality, all I have is my cell phone.

Yep I put 215/40 ZR18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports on them and then got TPMS from ECS Tuning. There definitely quieter then the darn run flats.

and grippier too! i get so much wheel spin from the stock tires. i have the 215/45/17's going on. contemplated new wheels but with Atlanta roads i wanted to stick with the 17's for now.

your setup is right at the edge now, i will get spacers eventually for mine. if i where you i would get a set of the mini mud guards, you do not want rocks hitting the super thin paint!

Great looking wheels!!! Do you have the standard sport suspension? Is there any rubbing with your set up? Just wondering if this would also work with the JCW Pro Coilovers or not??

I have the dynamic damping system and I haven't felt any rubbing at all. In two weeks I get NM lowering springs put on and still should be good to go according to Jerry at NM Engineering.

They might but I'm not the most knowledgeable about tire sizes. I took some pictures of the back for you.

Wow, that's a ton of space left. The tire bead is not even at the outer lip.
225 easy. Maybe even 235.
Thanks Krohm!!!!

Krohm,

Those RSe12 wheels look so good. Those are definitely the ones I am going to go with when I upgrade my wheels. I've got the white silver paint on my F56s and the more I see it with black accents, I fall in love a little more. I've got Black Jack scuttles and mirror caps and my put my black mirror caps back on to add a bit more black as well as blacked out light rings on the head and tail lights.

Good stuff man.

Haha I have a few more mods going in the next few weeks and then that's it for a bit. I really have to do a few things to the house before any more mods, my neighbors are making me look bad, I really need to do some landscaping.

Haha I would but it bugs the crap out of certain things aren't done yet to my new house and I wasn't paying builder prices when I had it built last year.
