If you don't live near a tuner, you will probably like the MTH tuning better than others. The idea is that you buy a special cable, plug a laptop into the OBD diagnostic port of the car with it, and copy the ECU programming to the PC.

You then send this file via email with a list of your mods, and MTH will return a modified version, which you then upload into the car ECU from the laptop. You can also re-load the original code if into the car if you've got a snotty dealer, which no other option I'm aware of can do.

This won't get you the last handful of HP that a true dyno-based custom tune could offer (only if the shop really knows its stuff), but it's maybe 90% of the benefit for half the cost.

They will also provide updated tuner files, as you add more parts, for a year. Look here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...play.php?f=134

Realistically, I'm guessing that the MTH ECU upgrade added 10 or so HP to my car (on top of pulley, JCW intake, and Borla Steet cat-back). I haven't dyno'ed the car, but I'm guessing 195HP in MINI-units.

There are other nice features available as part of the package as well - they can up the rev limit a few hundred RPM, reduce the intrusiveness of the ASC/DSC without turning it off entirely, and remove the drop-throttle overrun (let the engine RPM fall back more quickly when you get off the gas). All of these make the car more enjoyable to drive.

MTH: $775 for the canned package. They have an auto specific package as well.

Are the JCW Injectors different on 03& 04 from the stock 05-06 ?

Dose anyone know if the JCW injectors for 03 and 04 Copper S are the same as the stock 05 and 06 injectors?

Some dealers are advertising a JCW upgrade (Item #11 120 395 131) that consists of the following:
JCW air box (CAI)
JCW injectors
JCW ECU (I believe that this is software and although it is sold in this package, it can only be installed by stealer as a download. They will charge additional labor).
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=accessoryPart5&siteid=214201&cata logid=3751&categoryID=75816

The dealers that have it advertised on the web say that it is only for 2003- 2004 Cooper S. I thought the JCW C.A.I. and ECU software are the same for all years (2003 - 2006). Am I wrong to assume the stock injectors were upgraded in 05?
Before I drive 1 hour, I want to make sure I am not getting hosed or paying for stuff I don’t need.

What it means is that if you bought an '05-'06 JCW car, the "upgrade" was already part of the package, so if you had an earlier, dealer-installed JCW package ('03-'04), it would not have had the upgraded injectors/airbox. The upgrade package is marketed to '03/'04 cars which likely have the original JCW kit. The upgrade package is/was already part of the '05/'06 JCW package. I don't believe the '05/'06 MCS has the JCW's 380 injectors.

The '05-'06 Factory installed JCW MINI does come with the JCW's 380 injectors.

Right. What I meant was that the non-JCW '05/'06 MCS does not come with the 380 injectors.

If you get the kind of gains that I've seen posted, it's very fair! When he comes with in a reasonable distance from me, I'm all over it!! Can anyone give an average gain for a car with the mods I have listed?

Last year, I had pretty much the same set up as yours. JCW intake, JCW exhaust, 15% pulley, JCW injectors, JCW plugs, and JCW flash. Dyno @ 173 whp & 155 ft/lb.
