So if you didn't change anything else, about what could you expect your numbers to be after a Jan tune?

It's hard to tell, he tuned my MINI after I have GP intercooler and Schrick cam. Jan made adjustment (tuning) the ECU and bring everything to work to together beautifully.

The tune will definitely make your mods to work together in harmony.

Base line before the tune, w/ all the mod: 202 whp & 183 ft/lb.
After the fine-tuning, w/ all the mod: 217 whp & 191 ft/lb.

I had an older version of the Schrick camshaft (milder profile).
It seems to work well with the set up.

I have the 05 MCS bone stock except for my JCE exhaust. I am thinking of going for the JCW upgrade (JCW Injectors, CAI, and JCW ECU Flash) What are the thoughts, will I notce any pick up in power?

BTW. I have lot of time left on warranty and dont want to void it, thats why I sticking with the JCW theme.

good choice on the blackout-once you start, there is no stopping until you've killed the chrome

i dont think that i want to black out all of the chrome, just the beltline. i showed my wife the blacked out headlight rings and she said that it looked like my cooper had black eyes. we are also changing out the white side marker lenses and installing black ones. the "S" logo is going to be black. under the side marker lights we are going to install "supercharged" badges. we can't wait.

well after about a month and a half, i finally got my alta v2.0 installed on saturday. man what a difference! i really didnt think there was going to be much gain, but man was i wrong. my father in law did most of the work and we (or he) got it all done in 4.5 hrs including an oil change. the old pulley came off without a hitch and the new pulley slid right on like it was meant to be there in the first place. i, yes i, put the drain plug back in and tightened it, filled with castrol 5/30 full synthetic, oil cap back on, checked the level, started him up and man, what a beautiful sound. i love the extra supercharged whine that accompanies the new pulley. now turkish is full of extra power. my wife and i also blacked out the belt line, installed the black side marker lenses, replaced the red "S" with the black ones, added the "supercharged" and checkered/american flag badge (from minspeed). i have pictures of all of the work, i just havent had time to put the pics up yet. hopefully soon!!

i think that i have changed my mind about going with all JCW products. i was checking alta's site and found a new exhaust system that i think would look sharp on my mcsa. the powdercoated "STEALTH" exhaust. i like the looks of it and its about $300.00 cheaper than the JCW exhaust. i dont know exactly what im going to do yet, just wanted to through that out.

i have the hugest smile on my face. this is day four and no problems at all, well maybe one. i want to open it up and just gooooooooo!!! unfortunately there are speed limits and a deal with my wife->if i get a speeding ticket she gets to drive my mcsa for a week and i get her g6 gt. so i have to contain myself. oh well, its still a blast to drive. now im looking forward to adding the exhaust system (still a toss up between the alta stealth or jcw). then for the jcw suspension kit. im hoping to have all of this done before the end of summer, but i will just have to wait and see.

Its been about 3 months since I posted on here. Still no problems to mention. Turkish is still running great My last trip to Markel, I had requested an estimate for some of the JCW items such as the exhaust, injectors and suspension. They actually priced me out the WHOLE JCW package. I didnt think that you could have the JCW package installed on the MCS with the auto trans. Anyway, they quoted me parts and labor to be around $11,000.00!!!! I almost pooped myself when I seen the estimate. Now I know why they gave me a FREE JCW keychain.

Does that quote seem about right and am I correct about installing the whole JCW package into a MCSa? Let me know

Sounds about right. Get it, the warranty will be worth it

FORGET THAT...you could have that same hp level for only $1000 and be very reliable as proven by countless others. IMO the warranty is NOT worth $10,000!!! Hell, at that price I might as well take my chances and buy a wrecked MCS as a parts car so if anything did break I'd surely have a spare

If I had that kinda money just laying around, I would consider it. What about the issue with the auto trans? I didnt think that you could have the whole JCW kit installed if you had the auto. Something about the trans not being able to had the extra torque. I dont know.
