Still no issues with the Alta pulley and the funny thing is, IM STILL ENJOYING IT!!!

Good news, I have decided to go with the JCW Exhaust system. I found it on sale for $699.00 + $100.00 shipping, so I am going to order it tonight. The like the Alta exhaust, I just decided that I want to stay with the JCW theme. By this fall I would also like to get the JCW suspension done. We shall see on that. I will continue to post here so if anyone has questions, please ask.

Happy Motoring

I did order the JCW exhaust from minspeed, but it was not $100.00 for shipping. It was only $25.00 for shipping so yeah for me!! Anyway, I have for sure decided what I am going to do mod wise.

1. JCW CAI--done
2. Alta 15% Pulley--done
3. JCW Exhaust--ordered
4. JCW Brake Kit--ordered
5. JCW Suspension--ordered
6. JCW Rear Sway Bar--ordered
7. Tires--Sept
8. MossMini Lower Engine Shield--ordered--decided I needed it
9. JCW Injectors w/ JCW Software--Sept
10. JCW Plugs--ordered
11. ?????

I did decide to stay with the JCW theme. I know its not the most cost efficient way of modding a mini, but I dont care. I am having fun with it.
I want to paint the JCW calipers and the JCW suspension springs blue and my wife is really good at that kind of stuff, so she is going to paint them for me. I cannot wait until it is all done (for now ).
Im also going to have the lower engine shield powdercoated black.

I will keep you posted for those of you that still read this thread.

The only place that you can get the WHOLE JCW KIT is through a dealer. You can get bits and pieces from just about anywhere i.e. JCW exhaust, CAI, injectors, suspension, and brakes. The head and supercharger would have to come from the dealer.

I mean the JCW theme is cool and they are great quality parts...but you would be wasting your money by buying a JCW head. The other heads out there are far superior.

Agreed on the JCW head, from all that I have read, it has some slight exhaust porting and that is it. As such I am replacing my JCW head very soon. I went with RMW, but likely any after market big valve head is better than JCW.

The reason I chose to go with the JCW theme is to keep up the spirit of the Cooper family. Its not for warranty purposes anymore, but more that these parts are specifically built and tested exactly for the Mini.

I am not going to waste my money on a new head. I have decided that from the very beginning. So unfortunately my mini will not have the whole JCW kit and I am happy with that. I am just having fun with this approach.

I should be getting the JCW exhaust either today or tomorrow. Hopefully I get it today that way I can have it installed tomorrow or Sunday. I will include pictures of the installation process, so stay "tuned".

Good luck! Im sure you will love the JCW exhaust. If anything it looks a lot better than the stock system. You shouldnt have any issues with the install since its JCW.

I mean since you have the 15% pulley a JCW reflash would probably run fine. Check out the JCW Garage forum. I think it was Dr. Phil who just did the reflash over the Unichip and he seems pleased.

Yeah i know- I even read them before I posted on this thread. But for some reason I just forgot and posted the head comment. I didn't mean to beat a dead horse.

Having fun is all that matters!

I just got off of the phone with Minspeed and found that my exhaust has yet to be shipped. They were waiting for the JCW tips and finally received them this morning. Unfortunately I will not be able to install the exhaust until next weekend now. Oh well, I guess thats how things go.

Does anyone know what plugs are used in the JCW kit? I found a set on Minspeed and they claim that they are the JCW plugs. I just wanted to verify. It says that they are NGK BKR7. HELP!!!

I am having fun! It just took me awhile to figure out what and how I wanted to go about doing things (lots of reading and research on NAM )
IF everything goes to plan, I will have everything done by the end of next month. And that is a very big IF.

JCW Exhaust

PHASE 2
JCW Brake Kit
JCW Suspension
JCW Rear Sway Bar
JCW Plugs

PHASE 3
New Tires

Phase 1 will be complete as soon as Minspeed decides to ship my exhaust. Then its on to Phase 2.
Phase 3 is going to be expensive, but Im enjoying myself with this process.

Just to update everyone who still reads this thread. I just ordered the following items: JCW suspension kit, JCW brake kit, JCW rear sway bar, and my wonderful wife ordered the JCW spark plugs and the Mossmini skid plate.

So instead of breaking everything into phases, I just kind of grouped everything into one phase. The only things I have left to get from my list is new rubber and the JCW injectors w/ the JCW software. Both of those things will be done by next month. Call it a "Spur of the Moment" type thing I guess. I just got so excited about the exhaust that I had to order everything else. Oh well.

We are planning on installing the exhaust this weekend. I will make sure to take some pics of the installation process. The JCW suspension, brake kit, rear way bar and skid plate will be done on Aug. 23rd b/c my wife is going to paint the calipers, springs, and rear sway bar blue and the skid plate a flat black. Those items will hopefully be here by the end of the week so then she can get started. I will try and take some pics of the paint process as well as the installation process.

So stay tuned........

The guys at Morristown Mini are awesome!!! I just ordered the JCW suspension and brake kits at 11:30am and they have already been shipped out! That is what I call fast service! I wish my local mini dealer parts dept. was that quick.

Anyway I should have all of my parts by the end of the week.

Well, in keeping with the theme you are going to have to add the JCW front and read badges too.

BTW, my original JCW pulley on my '06 was an 11.45% reduction. The upgrade to a 15% was significant. I guess we can overlook this minor infraction to your JCW theme.
