Yes great idea to mod the car. But the use of larger injectors without more boost and proper tuning is going to be a detrimental mod.
Your sig doesn't list mods. Can you tell us what you have already done? Then me (and others) can far better answer your questions and concerns!

I recommend Prestige Mini. I get good discounts. Ask for John in Parts and mention my name. Morris Town are not smooth or easy to deal with people. But I know MT do sell at cost or lower than sometimes. Good luck. I suggest you go for the following as a first mod:
JCW injectors, intake and ECU flash.
It would cost you around $550+.
GOOD LUCK

right now the only perf. mod that i have is the jcw cai. i have thought about other exhaust systems, but i would like to stay with the jcw lineup. i was going to contact morristown today and see what kind of a deal we could work out for the exhaust. i did find the jcw injectors on minspeed and that seems to be the best price. minimania listed them for about $535.00!! i couldnt believe it. i have tried working with the SA at the omaha mini store and i......well i wont go there. john is a great guy. thats all i have to say. once i get the injectors i know i will have to have the ecu done. what is everyones opinion on plugs, wires, and coil pack. i was thinking about going with ngks, nology wires, and the screamin demon coil pack. any more feedback would be helpful. i guess my main goal is to get close to 200hp w/out getting the 15% pulley (<--long story).

i have thought long and hard about the 15% pulley since i first got my mcsa. my first service at the omaha dealer i asked the SA about the pulley and i was told that i would void the warranty if i had it installed regardless if it caused a problem or not . so i decided not to have it done b/c they are the closest dealer without having to drive 6 hrs to have my mcsa worked on. i do know that baron in kc is okay with the pulley but they are the ones that are 6 hrs away and i just dont have the time anymore to make that trip (even though i would love too ). so i guess maybe once my warranty expires i will look at that option again.

Well, if you're holding off on the pulley, you might as well hold off on the injectors too...good advice from the Alta rep. The plugs, wires and coil aren't going to add any horsepower. If those parts are worn out, you can loose some power and by replacing worn parts like that you simply stop loosing power. Save the $150-200 for the nology wires, the $75 for the coil and the $40-50 for the plugs and put it toward a new cylinder head from someone like RMW, Thumper or FBR...have them put your old engine badge back on you have the perfect stealth mod. Then when you're ready for the pulley, you'll really have some horsepower.

Double good advise.
I'd think about a larger rear anti-roll bar,too.

everybody has some great ideas, including maxicooper. im still not for sure how i want to go about doing this, but i really appreciate everyones input. i think i changed my mind about doing the pulley. my father in law and i were talking and he told me that he could do it at our shop. so i think im going to get the jcw injectors, alta 15% pulley, plugs, wires, coil pack, and the jcw exhaust. i would also like to find the gp intercooler and eventually do the jcw suspension kit. i know morristown has that on sale now. unfortunately i dont the funds to get ALL of it done now. maybe i should start up a collection . anybody that would like to donate let me know!

Who did you speak to at your dealership? He/she doesn't have a clue about warranty coverage and what can void it. Sometimes they play the "it will void the warranty" card b/c they want you to buy overpriced and arguably inferior JCW parts from them rather than buy from the aftermarket. Do you know that the JCW exhaust is reportedly QUIETER than the stock exhaust? And that it has about half the performance of the Milltek? If you would like to do a pulley mod (which is by far the best bang for the buck mod on our cars) I recommend that you speak to the service manager or the general manager of the dealership. The fact is that a SC reduction pulley does not VOID the warranty. The warranty stays in effect, but they can deny warranty coverage if the aftermarket part contributed to the failure/issue. Where the NAM community has seen differences is in what dealships definition of "contribute." In the end, however, warranty disputes are usually decided by a regional factory rep.

i will bring that up the next time im up there. the SA at the dealer, i dont she is too familiar with minis and the aftermarket accessories. i will have to talk to the SM when i go up there in a couple of weeks. i have already bs'd with him the last time i was there. he is a nice guy (john ellington) . i think he's got his ducks in a row when it comes to modding minis .
i would like to thank all of you for all of the responses. special thanks goes out to maxicooper for all of the help and great ideas! keep on motoring maxicooper!!!!
