Was taking the Mini to my appointment at the VA this morning when the car died before I made it a mile. Check engine light and bucking like a bronco before quitting completely. Finally got it started and nursed it home where I only had to wait about 45 minutes before Mini Roadside Assistance had the rollback at my door. The driver was very conscientious and meticulous when loading my car. This was even more challenging because the car wouldn't start at all, so He had to jockey the rollback in position to pull it onto the truck backwards. By the way, those beautiful tow hooks that RaceSeng makes and sells are not just bling. They are plenty strong enough to actually tow the vehicle! It took a little while because the car sits pretty low and has that aggressive splitter. I felt a lot better when the driver told me that he tows McClarens, Bentleys, and other exotics on a regular basis. We dropped the car off and the Service Manager had a spiffy new Safety Orange Justa for me to drive while they figure out what's wrong with my baby.

The Loaner.

A few years back I had a similar experience with the MINI roadside service. Excellent! The closest MINI dealer was 3 hours away and they took me there. The tow guy and I talked a lot. One thing I remember is he said that he liked working for MINI. One thing was that they pay better than some other roadside services.

Hope it works out well for you. Nice loaner...

Picked mine up from the dealer today. Everything's running fine now. They must has updated/reset not just the DME, but all the modules, because I lost all my custom programming. Made sure I had the JCW Tune still installed though. Not a big deal. I'll just wait for the next cool day and take the iPad out and reprogram everything. I'm just happy that it's running good again.

Took a gamble on the Forge blanket. Turns out that it fits.

What did I do...somehow, I killed the Steering Angle sensor..!
Luckily that's the first thing I do after the engine starts, turn "off" the Dyn. Stab. Control.
Still need to fix it sooner or later I guess.

Put some F56 LCI badges on my R56. Took a gamble and it looks like they fit!

Short shifter

Installed the Torque Solutions Short Shifter today. Easier than i thought.

Decided to keep the cover for now until i can find someone with a 3d printing machine to mock up something.

Heres a tip. Use a 11mm open wrench to pry off the ball joints not 14mm from pelicans website.

Changed my oil today. The low oil light popped on. Oil level is fine. Then I realized I installed to darn oil filter backwards. . Reversed the filter an everything is fine now. Now I need to look into changing the line on the power steering. I see the lines going to the tanks look a little wet.

Friday, put the first noticeable mark on it in 10 months of ownership (scraped the rim against a curb)

Saturday, finally got my music onto a USB stick and set up in the Mini so I can cruise with more than just what's on my phone at a given time

Today, gave it a much needed wash after the late snow this week and the pollen bomb that apparently dropped on it before that

Spent a little time this morning re-programming all my bells and whistles that the dealer erased last week. Rear fogs, fog lights with high beams, auto up with fob, etc. Wondered why it had been feeling sluggish since I got it back, until I realized it was in mid mode. I removed the selector switch when I installed the CravenSpeed Shift ell Cover. All good now. I'll drive it for a while with just the JCW Tune until I'm sure my problem doesn't come back, and then worry about the BT Tune. Y'all have a good weekend.

I dipped my R56 in Mandarin Orange. Bought the kit and did it myself. Some mistakes were made but I’m overall mega happy with how it turned out considering this is my first time doing something like this.

Agreed! We've been talking about wrapping my wife's R53 as it was cheap, and paint is not! How much and where did you source it? How much was it? Thanks!

I got the kit from DipYourCar - The kit, with the sprayer cost me close to $500. The kit includes 4 gallons of the material, sprayer system, and all accessories needed to mask the car. I did go to home depot and bought a mask and random tape.

I did it all by myself in a friend's garage. I watched tons of "How To" videos before I did it.

I also wanted to wrap my car but I was quoted 2-3K for a MINI and I was like no thanks. A dip job by a professional shop, I was quoted about $1000-$1100. Much cheaper than a wrap. But I decided to try it myself.
