While waiting for my window motor. Decided to install powerflex bushing lower engine mount. I gotta say. Love the way the car feels and i don’t see any touch vibrations. I think it made the vibrations better. Maybe because my old mount was it’s way out.
I have the vip engine stabilize with a brand new stock hydraulic engine mount & Powerflex trans mount as well

One heck of a diy job. I like the mandarin orange. I'm too old to pull it off but I like it. Congrats

Replaced the leaky thermostat housing with an aluminium piece. Couldn't really see any crack in the old one though.

Today I drove it for the first time, and I bought it 3.5 months ago. This was after a 4.5 hour marathon assembly session to finish installing the transmission, new front struts, new brakes and flush the cooling system and install new MINI coolant. I liked driving it. A LOT!!!

Maybe the gasket was going?

I never understood why manufacturers have moved to making this piece plastic outside of being cheap. Beyond me.

Replaced the battery on my 2012 MCS.

I just got the MINI a couple of months ago, only 36k miles when I got it, so I was surprised the battery died. It had the original factory battery, or so I think. I also jumped my neighbor's car last week, wondering if that sped up the battery dying.

After changing the battery most of my windshield cowl weatherstripping broke off so I have my next project lined up.

Had the weatherstripping crumble like blue cheese on the driver's side on my 2013 when I took the cowling off.

That's what I'm thinking although when I got the pressure test done to find out where the leak was from they told me the housing was cracked. ????? Go figure. But then again they also wanted almost $800 to fix it. LOL! Not a chance. Housing, thermostat, and gasket delivered to my door were CDN$60. Another $25 for a jug of coolant and I did buy some hose clamp pliers because I got tired of fighting the one clamp that kept slipping off. $25.

So for $110 and a couple of hours it's done and I still have 690 bucks in my pocket and some new pliers lol.

I washed mine, detailed some of the black trim while parked at a park and took pics. After that, I drove it a bunch more and took it to my favorite local road with corners.

Made the engine cleeeeeeean!

I know it's pointless. Entropy always wins. But there is just something SO satisfying about it!

Oil Change-5w30 Mobil 1 full synthetic. Oil Filter-BMW. Cleaned and re-oiled my NM Engineering Intake Filter. Rotated tires.

Vacuumed inside. Wiped everything down with McGuires Plastic stuff. used to use 303, thought Id give McG's a try. Seems to hang on the exterior plastics better for sure.

Installed the black side scuttles from Outmotoring. Love the blacked out look, but the flashers now quick blink as thought a bulb is out. Is this something I can code out?

Yes. It is the hot check of indicator bulbs IIRC.
