Many thanks to Chris Sneed for the extra time and effort he put into these mounts and the assistance installing everything. Basically all I did was stand around and make silly suggestions. This thing is solid as a rock now. No harmonics when stuck behind a semi and smooth up to 85mph. Haven't had it anywhere to check the limits yet. Here's some pics of the work we did today.
Looks awesome. What does the wing do to the overall handling balance of the car?

Oh yeah, and for you Krispy Kreme fans... I did make it by the store.
I know Krispy Kreme is a big thing for some, but in my opinion they are way over-rated. Best glazed donuts I ever had were from a little local shop in Santa Clara, those put Krispy Kreme to shame.

Haven't really had a chance to wring it out, but on the back roads that I did hit over the last couple of weeks give me a good feeling about it. Especially in the long sweeping turns that you can carry a good bit of speed through it feels more planted, like it just squats and hugs the road a little closer. After we get the last two brackets fabricated I can mess around with the angle of attack and see where the point of diminishing returns lie.

I am and have always been partial to KK myself. Most of the two decades + that I spent in service I was unable to get them. Also, since I was in Winston Salem, NC to get the Mini worked on, it would have been disrespectful to get anything else. After all KK started there in 1937 and they still have their headquarters there.

I like how the MAKE on your temp tag is MNNI. Why not just "MINI"? I wonder how the California DMV abbreviates "FORD".

My guess is that something else is already using MINI, thats what it says on both of mine for the tag renewals here in ohio "MNNI". Maybe "mini" used by classic Minis back in the day?

For California DMV, MNNI = BMW MINI and MINI = Classic Mini

Went over to Cravenspeed HQ and they installed this auto transmission shifter ****. Looks great, works great. Almost makes me think back to the days when the body cooperated with a clutch.

I test drove an R53 and R56s. The R53 steering felt heavy, and the R56 steering felt much lighter & more nimble. Just wondering if that is how they are meant to feel.

After 3 long weeks finally got her back from the body shop. Had hail damage repaired. But now I’m back to planning my 100,000 mile maintenance. Just 300 miles to go.

Yes, that is just a difference between the boost of the power steering between the two cars. Otherwise the steering is basically the same between the 2 cars. The heavier feel is actually to give you a better feel of what the car is doing. The R56s has a Sport mode button and that stiffens up the steering on that car, too.

Sorry didn’t mean to push you out..
Actually liked your post which made me think to ask about a dedicated thread. Just looking to see if there were other pictures and stories, maybe videos, out there.

It’s all good...

Finished the Exhaust

Finally finished up the exhaust. Installed a Milltek catless downpipe over a year ago followed by an AFE midpipe about 6 months later. Installed the VCP backhalf last weekend along with a Magnaflow 4" x 22" straight through for a reasonator. Tone is really deep with no rasp.

Welcome to the forum. A simple search will reveal multiple threads on this subject. If you're asking about an F car you might start with 3rd Gen FAQ.

Thanks for the very quick reply. I have spent some time looking through the threads on it but people are no longer active on them and most of the links are dead.

Oops I probably should have said this earlier. I have a r60. I need the sp-datens for the r60. I read somewhere that all the second gen minis have the same sp-datens and I have the r56 ones so I just want to double check that.

I also dont know what cable to use. I have an e70 x5 and my r60 so itd be preferable if I could use the same cable for both. I saw both the enet and dcan and im not sure which one to get. I think the mini might work with both but the x5 would only work with the dcan. Is that correct?

Thanks

Can't help you with that. I don't use esys. You might get more info/replies if you post this in the R60 or 2nd Gen sections.
