Today I took my Mini out for a clean and a small photo shoot while there was now snow around!

Does anyone know where I could find the Gloss Black Trim for the head and tail lights on a 2012 Countryman S ALL4?

Bye Bye Ugly Wheel Gap!!

Yes, I know it's still winter in Minnesota (hence the Blizaks) but I had a box of brand new Bilstein B14 coilovers that couldn't wait any longer to get installed.

I plan on dropping my rear a bit more but I am amazed ad how bad the stock wheel gap really is.

I also installed new NM end links and NM 22mm rear sway bar.

A big thank you to @ECSTuning for having these with my name on them

Here in the area of Maine I live in, a drop like that would qualify your Mini as a snow plow.

Smaller wheel gap does look a lot better, though.

Rear wiper working but no spray on the rear window.

I finally got around to resolving this issue. I pull the rear wiper cover off and it was a mess. Rust, clogged and the wiper was shot. Cleared the line and the sprayer nozzle, also installed a new rear wiper. All is working well now. Cheers, motor on.

Ha!, Minnesota too. I told the shop that I wanted it low but not so low I would plow snow. Great minds think alike!

Added Cravenspeed Big Pair to my F56. Definitely a noticeable change in Pulga, she's much sharper and precise now. Much more predictable cornering at speed.

For the money, it's of the best handling upgrades out there.

Looks good underneath.

Is that a Liquid Yellow R50/R53 I see?

Ran some errands today with the Mini. He is running really well atm. Trying to build up the motivation to swap out the valve cover gasket and driver side door lock actuator.

Noticed my LR tire was losing about 2psi/day. Lifted him off the ground and ran the tire into Discount Tire to be repaired.

Back to motoring...

Yes! My friend Ricky's R53. He came by with a jack and jack-stands to help me out with the install.

Discovered the source of my CEL. I was getting the p2188, too rich at idle. The spark plugs needed changing. I changed them at 50k and just rolled over to 90k. They were pretty brown and had a little build up on them as well as evidence of arcing. My drive to work is less than 10 minutes so Benni never gets fully warmed up. Changed them and no CEL for 150 miles. It was coming on every 70. Yay.

I was able to finally get to changing out my struts. For those who bust the head of their Pinch Bolt, it's just easier to get another wheel knuckle than trying to drill out that bolt. I spent 4-5 hours trying to drill out that bolt with no success. I spent money on drill bits and a die tap kit which I didn't use because I never got the bolt out. Got a wheel knuckle for about $40 and it took me 30 mins to change it. Don't waste your time or money trying to drill it out. If you break the head off, do yourself a favor, call it a day, order the knuckle and just wait until you get it. That strut is not coming off with the busted bolt.....

Busted the sidewall of my RF non runflat tire yesterday. Getting it replaced today and back to motoring. Only downside with the R53 Mini and no spare. Had to ask the wife to come get me, drive me home to grab tools and my fifth Mini wheel, swap it out and return the Mini home.

Pick up a 5th wheel if you get the chance. Nice to have in the garage when needed. CL is a good place to pick up spares if possible.

Phoenix roads strike again... Although, I do realize they are NOT the worst in the country. hehe Just frustrating. Tire had 6/32" of tread left. 14 months old.

Did you go off-roading? Must have been a heck of a hit. Might want to check front alignment?

5th wheel is a very good idea.

I have a new wheel and tire in the garage waiting for use also. Be grateful you don't live in California. I remember the roads in the 1960s-1970s as being in the top 3 or 4 of all the states I had driven in. Now, just horrible with alligatoring asphalt everywhere; sharp-edged and DEEP potholes that have had multiple amateurish repair jobs and are very destructive of wheels, tires, and suspension parts. The bureaucrats get their gold-plated retirements and rich paychecks while the infrastructure goes to hell. Same with the rainwater reservoirs. Double the population with no additional water storage. Duh. Shortages. Pitiful. I'm gonna move. It's a turd world country here now.

Right? I went back through the scene of the crime this morning looking for the perp and nada/nothing! Even a crack in the road that could cause that kind of impact. Nothing. There are cracks… But nothing stood out to me that “there you are!” moment.

Yeah! 5th wheel cost me about $40-50 on CL. Nice to have around…

Bummer to hear about Cali… I always look east for rougher roads…

Filled out the DMV's personalized license plate paperwork.

Deciding if I submit it now, or wait several months, and do it when renewal time comes around.
