General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
Thats a good list. Show them the DIY's on here and its should be very quick in and out of the shop. Its an indy shop correct. Intake and exhaust would be good for the spring after all the main maintenance is done.
Yep. It's an indy shop. They have the first mechanic in Indiana who was certified to work on MINIs.
Def can't wait to get all the maintenance out of the way and start working on mods!

Tired of the Yo-Yo effect, so I dropped in an oe bypass valve. My girl parked in the driveway so I wasnt able to test drive it. However, it seems to idle a bit smoother now (not sure if that has anything to do w/ the bypass valve...) and the spring is a stiffer than the older one.
Also built a 100w .33ohm resistor to 'fix' the low fan failure. That'll be wired in tomorrow.
JCW Aero Grill on my standard S bumper. What a pita. Thankfully my old neighbor is good with the tedious things. Only downfall was the tape job we did to hold the lower grill secure while the epoxy dried to get a a good tight flush fit. Used too strong of tape.
When taking the tape off it also took off small dabs of paint from my bumper cover.... sigh...otherwise looks perfect.
Was going to do my catback exhaust as well, but decided I would rather pay my local shop the $75-$100 to put it on for me.

yea i had a hard time as well but it's worth it in the end.
It was 77 in Kansas yesterday! Took Barnaby for a detail inside snd out, got shell gas, techtron gas additive, and checked the tire pressure and fluids. He was liking his spa day!
Well I made the hard call and sold my Mini. After a $9400 transmission job last year. I had him into the dealer for the pass seat airbag mat recall and found out I had a hard fault on the drivers side. $2000 minimum to fix. Also needed lower control arm bushings, all 3 power steering lines, tires, brakes, ect, ect... At least another $5000 at dealer prices and $2000 if I did everything, not including the airbag which is beyond my experience level. I wanted to thank all of the vendors, and members on here for your support and help. I am saddened but it was time. Sometimes you just get "one of those cars" I wish you all the best and happy motoring!!

Wow, I am sorry to hear that... Totally understandable. Good luck on your future vehicular experience!

Sometimes it just has to be. $9400 for the transmission would have done me in right there. Sorry to hear it.
