One of the better looking ones I've seen! Particularly like the rear window stickers... subtle but very cool...
I want some!!!

Great stripe job... and I really like them all the way down over the bumper and lower air inlet.
Thanks. I do as well. When the stripes stop it is a bummer for me. I guess when I was a kid and having a Dodge Viper poster on the well the stripes made an impression.
Would be nice to see a picture of the results! Warm weather is not an option in New England this time of year, though we've had above normal temperatures in the 40s and 50s a bit too much this season.
I lived in Phoenix for about 4 years way back in the Mesozoic era (1980-1984, and thought it was pretty unusual to have park the car out of the sun on Christmas day or risk burning the hands on the steering wheel. That was a surprise I won't soon forget.
Lulu my wife's 2011 Clubman will get a bath between Church and the Super Bowl Party at my Niece's. Lulu's projects have been put on back burner for now. 16 months ago I loaned my 02 Tacoma Prerunner to my son to use for work after his divorce. I took in back 2 weeks ago as he is working out of town (Bridge Builder) for the next 3 years and I didn't want it going our of town. Got it back needed Tires, a new Radiator and a leaking oil filter. He didn't tear in up Cosmetically but didn't take that good a care of it, up to my standards. So I have decided to keep it and restore it, It is still worth half what I paid for it new and has 150K on it. Projects for it a through cleaning and detail inside and out, replace some of the suspension bushings with Polyurethane Bushings, replace shocks, get the tailgate repainted. Plastic Dip the plastic lower front bumper and wheel arch moldings, replace damaged or broken plastic trim in the interior. So far I had new tires and wheels installed, lubed the driveline, replaced the radiator, fixed the oil leak, cleaned up the under side of truck of leaking oil and dirt, cleaned the engine bay. and gave it a good bath. I have ordered all the parts and pieces I need and they have started to arrive. So Tomorrow I start. Lulu has no services due or issues so she can fend for for now. We have decided to sell our 04 Expedition with a 150k which while it is in excellent condition is not worth much. Will take the new Michelins off of it and put them on the Taco. same size just better tire than the Kumo's I put on the truck Friday. I have enjoyed work on the truck and it is start to look good and runs fine will get new plug and wires when i change the leaking valve cover gaskets. Changed the oil, tans fluid, and rear end oil and check the compression and it is excellent it burn oil, it just was work truck for a while. Plan on trip to Idaho in Mach to watch Granddaughter play Softball will take the truck.
Then this- this is what a clutch looks like with 365,000+ miles
Then this- still honing marks on the cylinder walls after 365,000 miles
It was a very productive day, now for the rebuild. Everything looks really good with the exception of the oil rings on the Pistons. Could probably just do a ring job and be fine. But since I'm here......

80 degrees is wild this time of year. Enjoy!!!
Oh cool! Has to be quite the change from one location to the next!
Yes, the sun gets a little warm as you know so you either like it or dislike it. I do not handle the cold very well. Give me the heat and the pool and we are good!
I will try and take some better pics! He was put away for the SB Party that is coming up.
My lower control arm bushings finally came in so those are ready to go. LCA bushings and power steering lines.
Will try and take a bunch of pics to document the fun.
Wow, quite the undertaking! 365k miles, eh? Did it die? Or did you see this coming?
Please consider taking a bunch of pics through the journey! Would love to follow the overhaul.
Good luck! Any plans to upgrade or just replace with OEM parts and get moving again?
I saw it coming and have been looking forward to the rebuild process. I have a rebuild thread here.
I'm a bit unsure of how I'm going to proceed, I was expecting more wear honestly. I already bought a Mega Mini cam, will likely do some head work, and am planning on new prisons and rings.
The car still ran great, just didn't hav the power anymore. Compression test showed low compression. Signs it needed rings, the bottom (oil rings) are worn out. Neighbor suggested brillow padding one cylinders, get new rings and get back on the road. I'm this far in, I'll do more....

Looks great! Actually it looks like new! Pays to garage it with all that sunshine you get down that way. Easier on the paint.
I liked the desert Southwest and enjoyed my time there, but I'm wired for the Seasons. Went from Phoenix to Whitefish, Montana and then 12 years later to Maine where I've lived for about 20 years now. I did fine in the desert until the temperatures hit 90 degrees. After that it really took it out of me, even with a pool! One thing I did like a lot... the car stayed clean there for long periods of time!
Gave Lulu her bath and put her in the garage taking the Tacoma to the Party. Tomorrow the Tacom goes into the garage for a few day of fun, I think, depending on what happen in life. Ordered some more parts, the Plastic Dip and some other part will be delivered tomorrow We face the west so will back the truck into garage and take advantage of natural light along with work light supposed to be in high 60'sl ow 70;s this week so can work at night if I want.

Excellent rebuild thread. Keep up the good work. 365K is exceptional and really does show how well the Tritec was designed.

See you are getting into the big front end job, good luck and post up.

Yes! I've delayed it about all I can... The one thing I am missing which I am debating about will be the transmission mount.
If I've read correctly, I will have to remove some pieces (e.g. ECU?) to reach the thermostat/housing area in order to replace everything. While I am there, I believe the transmission mount will be exposed/accessible. Its been a while since I've taken a look at that and I think I might replace it while I am in there area.
