Thank you both.

I guess I'll have to buy the real thing. This seller won't ship to Alaska.

Oh well, at least it will be an OEM match, of sorts.

Fiddled with the forge turbo inlet piece that goes from the VC to the actual inlet so I could put the plastic clip back on that secures it.

Installed CTS Racing SS Blue tip exhaust. Beautiful sound ! Ended up welding the 2 joints as the good quality clamps did not seal the joints and they leaked a bit. After welding ,the muffler tips lined up below the rear skirt . Allow 2 hours labor in a good shop with a skilled TIG welder.

LOVE the look! Just got mine completed over the weekend, and put back on yesterday. Incredibly happy with the results! Still a few more minor things to do before it's ready to hit the road again. Removed the old tint so it can be tinted darker .. the 35% didn't seem to mesh well with the finished look.

Thank you! It was $400 to have the wheels painted. That price included the sandblasting as well, and Nason paint was used.

Any idea how well the vinyl does against chipping from road debris? Are they as strong as PPF?

In my opinion, vinyl holds up very well against your average road elements. We have a GT-R that is wrapped as well that was getting daily driven (25 miles per day/5 days) that has zero chips from road debris. In fact, more damage has come from jerks bumping their doors into the car more than the road debris.

I can't compare against the PPF because I have no personal experience with it. However, both are vinyls and the 1080 vinyl from 3M for the vehicle wraps is pretty excellent, and definitely the best vinyl available on the market.

One thing I have noticed on the MINI though, is that the factory paint is not the best. If you are considering getting vinyl done, make sure you understand that if you choose to remove the vinyl later, your factory paint may come up with it in some small places. It happened in a small 2-inch section on my car right above the gas cap, closest to the chrome trim.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you have going on with the headlights? Are the blacked out?

I don't mind! The headlights are getting a custom projector retrofit using the factory-style MINI shrouds. As you can see in the photo below, my shrouds have been painted hot pink to match my calipers. I originally did not want this. I originally wanted them to just be gloss black, but I felt like having a completely blacked-out housing would of been .. ehh .. so the shop went this route with it. It's growing on me.

The shrouds look like a bubble-gum pink in the photo, but they're much brighter in person ..

The inner-housings have been painted gloss black, and the amber lens has been removed. On the MINI shrouds, the little "bubbles" usually illuminate as well when the headlights are on. However, I am thinking about having color-changing halos placed behind the shroud so that instead of being illuminated white, it can be illuminated hot pink to match the rest of the theme. Of course, being color-changing, they can always be switched back to white to avoid issues with cops .. if necessary .. ..

Put the BMS clutch stop in today, I only used two of the three spacers that came with it and made sure the clutch fully dis-engaged after installing. Then took it for a drive.

I wonder if you could get those tied into the "mood light" controls from the interior? Hmmm....

That looks pretty good. How close is the color match? As good as the picture looks? Thanks.

Found a death rattle that scared the crap out of me. Turned out the Damper on my serpentine belt tensioner is starting to go. I ordered a new tensioner set up.

crises averted.

Got my GP2 belly pan today from ECS and installed it tonight to complete the undercarriage aerodynamic panels. I think I am done modding for now and just going to enjoy motoring until the JB4 is released.

Today I installed the Mini LED DRLs that I have had sitting net to my desk for a couple of weeks. Tomorrow I will be installing the Cobalt seat belt hooks.
