I totally agree. The oem GP spoiler is not just expensive its insane expensive!! lol. That's why im looking at the Orranje or the Fubrication brand. Im going to email Orranje here tonight I think. Ive already emailed Fubrication and am waiting for a reply from them. I will be getting one just want to see which one is better fit and quality.

I think I also read somewhere that in order to fit the oem GP wing, you also need to delete the wiper and then use different glass for the boot. I think it is has something to do with mounting points for the GP wing?

Went and washed the salt off the car only for it to snow another 3/4" 30 minutes after getting home.

I wasn't happy with pepper white bits from the hood and bumper showing through the new grill, so I went ahead and painted the insides black. My mind is now at peace

(Kidding! I've seen that "fix" in far too many places in many cars, though.)

Hey, wait--"Speedbird"? Is that a reference to British Airways? Very amusing...
Speaking of bad ideas...and pieces of burning hot metal, my first thought was to stuff something between the gap, like a piece of foam. It was a long day, I swear!

And yes, SpeedBird 1 was actually the call sign used for Concorde

Yes. the deal with the rear window is the mounting tabs come with the gp rear window only.. You cant buy just the mounting tabs. Its nothing more then a channel of metal with holes in it. That channel is then glued into the glass lip. The rear window is nothing different other then that. Why they would delete the rear wiper is beyond me though. Its not in the way of anything as far as I know. Unless its a performance thing.. But lets just say its the typical bs MINI has done to make things expensive when really it shouldn't be..lol. But I think im going with the Orranje brand gp spoiler. Looks like those guys have done there homework on it and seems to be a solid product!

Took Alfie out for his first run in the snow. We put Blizzaks on last month and hadn't really gotten a chance to test them out. Actually thought they were a bit squishy compared to our summer tire performance. We played in a parking lot that was on a severe incline, ice covered and ends in a lake (if you're going to do something, it might as well be all the way). After doing some semi-donuts the MINI slipped a bit and then just pulled away like there was no ice underneath. Those winter tires passed the test for us!

Plopped down a deposit on a 2010 Mayfair, going to do a final inspection this weekend! Hopefully the Pocket Rocket will have a MINI garage mate very soon

Sandblasted the wheels to prep for gloss black paint. I would love to get new wheels, but they are not in my budget at the moment. This was the next best route.

Just ordered a VIP heat shield and notch style hood scoop. Next up finishing the stripes all the way down, strut tower defenders, and NGK plugs.

Installed a Craven FlexPod - I love the design and now my phone has the perfect cradle. Worth every penny.

Picked up a perfect set of R113s (black w/ red stripe) with P-Zeros (1-2/32nd wear) and TPMS (I don't need) for a song. I can't wait for spring to arrive even though it 40F.

Are those the Aero Grill inserts you put in there?

I have the Grillcraft mesh grills and I'm not crazy about them.

I don't think they are aero grills, maybe a replica?

I got them from ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/02-03-04-05-06-Mini-Cooper-R50-R52-R53-JCW-Style-2-Piece-Honeycomb-Grill-Grille-/191040233858?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ACooper&hash=item2c7ae2a182&vxp=mtr )

Nope those aren't the aero grills. They are totally different. Forget what AM company makes them, but they have a hole pattern similar to the R56 JCW grilles, the R50/53 JCW aero grills have a really small hexagon hole pattern.

Best move I ever made with my Bridge Spokes. Completely changed the car and led to my third (and last) set of summer wheels.

Epic day! Started late yesterday afternoon really. I stripped my front bumper off and the wheelarch trim (Wheel well), installed MINI halo driving lights in a freshly painted Aero II bumper with brake vent kit. All the pre-assembly that could be done was done during the week, but the goods went on today. Pics later

Put in my new stereo and wired my Garmin Nuvi cord through the space under my steering so I don't have a long wire just hanging around
