What did you do to your mini today?
I decided to make the front more black so I wrapped the front of my bumper myself and over the bottom yellow fog lights! Soon my H-tech lip & rear diffuse will come in and the lip will make the front extra special. For the rear, I put on some clear tail lights with LED's and the Rear diffuser will be here soon, I can't wait!
I have TSW springs on at the moment but Im looking into lowering it more but don't know of a spring that can give me a serious drop. The car sits to high for my taste but handle very nicely.
So today I put the wrap the front, put on the rear tail lights and drove the crap out of her! LOL... And cleaned my Subie!

Tonight, we got home from our long road trip in my wife's 04 Pepper White Justa. It went over 2 thousand miles each way(!!!), and I'm VERY proud of it. Shockingly, it was very comfortable, and I was able to go through some very scary storms with no problems in traction. Acceleration isn't like my MCS, but I couldn't believe how well it kicked it up a notch when I really needed it to. It seems to have the same "problem" as my MCS, in that going 65mph feels like I'm standing still, but the weaker engine helped to curb my speeding habits, which not only kept us out of the radar gun's sights but also out of the gas stations.
To be honest, I love my MCS, and I never really liked my wife's Justa compared to it, but I must say I have a new found respect for the Justas now. The car was unbelievable when it came to gas mileage. I figured we'd be filling up all the time, like in my car, but to be honest, I only filled her up completely 4-5 times each way, which is FANTASTIC. It saved us a lot of money on gas.
Unfortunately, even with all the rain, the car pulled into our garage COVERED in bugs. Also, due to a negligent semi-truck that cut us off, she's got a couple paint chips on her bonnet I need to fix. No lie, she's pretty disgusting looking as it is right now, and you can barely see out of the front windshield
. I'll give the Justa a well deserved bath tomorrow though and order her some touch up paint.
I will admit, my heart fluttered when I saw my MCS as I pulled the Justa in. I really did miss the little bugga. Just the thought of driving a manual, a Mini with more HP, sitting in my more comfortable seats, and driving a Mini that didn't look as boring had me smiling like a little boy on Christmas day. However, the next time I'm forced to ride in the Justa, I think I'll be enjoying it a bit more than I would have in the past. It did a terrific job and I'm actually quite proud to park my MCS next to it now. It's definitely earned it's stripes... which leads me to my next project! Thanks little guy!

I would go one step forward and reset the ECU...
No joke... this totally happened to me too when i first got my mini!
the patch is holding strong though. 1000+ miles on it and holding pressure just as well as the other tires.
A software engineer applying patches to his car tire...yeah, that sounds about right.

Did you have to dremel down the backsides of the hella's? I couldn't get them to aim right without making a custom bracket for each light and the brackets I made bounce like crazy.
That's one heck of a vanity plate!
No I actually made it all fit, I knew that Hella 500 Clearance was an issue and as I already had the 500s I planned ahead, and took the sparse install instructions and made sure that my vertical placement was as low as practically possible.
Some photos from back in the December salt....

Ok this last one is a tad misleading because the camera was tilted, turn your head so that the light is perfectly vertical

This was not today but a few days ago.
22mm alta rear sway bar
front and rear alta end links
alta PSRS
front swaybar polyurethane bushings
koni shocks/springs lowered 30mm.
M7 Strut Re-Inforcement Plates
Sparco 17 wheels w/ 215/45R-17 Yokohama S.drive XL
The PSRS took me a long time to install, did not need to remove the subframe at all, I used a 18mm flex wrench and those bolts are super tough to undo.

Installed a flexpod mount for my Garmin Nuvi GPS. I had a mount that sat on my dash but if I hit it to hard off the line it would slide off and turn on my windshield wipers. That didn't work for me.

I'm in the precess of blackening my chrome. I guess I went to the dark side and you went to the light.
Have you thought about painting the scoop white?
Finally installed the Detroit Tuning bypass valve today. Near flawless install. After buttoning it up, I sparked up the engine, and it ran like doo-doo. I stopped it, looked for the vacuum leak, doublechecked everything around the intercooler boots, and started it up again. Still doo-doo. Then, I found the throttle body control wiring hanging next to the plug on the throttle body instead of plugged into its socket....
D'oh!
I plugged it back in, and it ran great. Went up the mountain to Summerhaven and back, no problems, as a test-drive. The "Service Engine Soon" light was on for the first five times I started the engine after plugging the throttle wiring in, but then the ECU got it through its head that the throttle body really was there.... Frankly, I'm surprised it started at all. Next time I'm eating breakfast before I start....
Anyhoo, Nudnik's got a lot more low and mid torque, starting to pull noticeably harder from 1500 RPM on up. You can definitely feel the valve close right after you put your foot on the accelerator pedal. Having the extra torque makes putting around town easier, and made the ride up the mountain more fun, too....
Not a bad day's work, all told....
C ya,
Dutch

I removed every single interior panel and the rear seats, ran speaker wire and replaced the 6x9s in the back. It's gunna be a race car as I (and by I, I mean my boyfriend) finish the stereo install this week. Oh and front plate delete.

Today, I finally put on the JCW R95s that I bought (slightly used) on Ebay FOUR YEARS AGO
I replaced my 17 inch wheels (with 215/40 Bridgestone tires):

with the 18 inch R95s (and Conti Extreme Contact DWS 215/35 tires):

Can't wait to go motoring on the freeway and see how they feel!
