What did you do to your mini today?
Question....since you have the 18", do you have the steering angle stop or whatever it's called on your MINI?
No, I left off the Steering Stop. Consensus opinion seemed to be it wasn't needed. The 205/40-18 tires aren't significantly wider or taller than the 205/45-17 tires, and I haven't lowered the car.
Okay cool. That's what I took from it too...wasn't really needed. I do plan on lowering my car, so I may opt for the 17", just to avoid any issues. But your 18's look great
. Tire was only choosen for lap time numbers to compete with the orig GP and so bad on wet roads to the point of being dangerous which would be aok for garage queen but not a semi-daily driver as in my case...
I daily drive mine in the city of New York in all weather conditions with no issues. They drive surprisingly well in the rain. I'm not driving crazy when it rains, but they've lasted me this long at 3000 miles.
Those do look great, the R105 JCW Double spokes come in all Black and then the Gloss Turned Face / Black like the pictures above. Don't see to many MINI out there. They are a great looking wheel for 18" option.

For the steering wheel stop, turn your MINI steering wheel all the way to the left then right , even if lowered and check the wheel well material mesh for rubbing. Sometimes need for 18" wheels and up, lowered or running wider then stock tires. If it clears then you are good to go.

Metal shift ****? I hope you have a cloth for the summer days and winter days, or you don't like skin on your right palm.
Took a stay-cation the past two weeks with grand plans of frittering the days away on the backroads. On the first day of vacation the half power CEL went on. No fair! Finally got to the dealer yesterday and the problem was the coolant temp sensor. I'd had that fixed once before so hopefully the latest version of the part will do the trick.
While the Mini was home sick, I installed the OEM roof rack. Now we're ready to hit the road again. If only I had that vacation time back...

Not the first car I've had a metal shift **** in; I think I'll survive. Also, I'm having my windows tinted next week which should help a bit.

Fair enough. BTW have you ever gone back to the Edgewater meet?
