^^I'm even thinking about ditching my stripes and painting on a wide single stripe down the bonnet and boot. Just need to make sure it comes
off easily and won't cause any irreversible efforts.

Walmart like 6 towns away, it's the only place that had Krylon X Metals. Every paint store, or art store in the area only had crappy spray paint.

2 cans between applying 6 coats to sway bar and another 4 or 5 on the intercooler cover, for that depth illusion when looking at it.

Today we went to get the aux water pump put in at Mini of North Scottsdale. While my Mini was getting that done. I was given a 2012 Mini Countyman S as a loaner. My wife fell in love with it. She is already making plans to trade in her Jeep Grand Cherokee for one. LOL. When we got back to pick up my MCS it looking brand new. Props to the service department for the detailing. While I was there I talked to Brandon the service manager and introduced the family. I also picked up a Mini Sport Antenna. Definately love the new look!

Yesterday I also recieved my SG2 (Scan Gauge II) and programed it to read the boost, HP and a couple other things. It was a great investment.

Yesterday I drove my MINI with the windows down and the sun roof open while Bruce Springsteen's "Thunder Road" played on the stereo, the sun was shinning on us and the wind was a blowin! Next week it's a set of driving lights, chrome hood scoop, a checker sun roof decal and an arm rest!

BECKY....2009 MCS, Chili Red with black sun roof and checkerd mirrors... : )

Looks good! It must be nice to get back to *real* tires after the winter.

Ironically, I may be driving back from Sierra Vista to Hell's Forge in *snow* tomorrow!

C ya,
Dutch

My 03 R53 is officially 1 month old today. At least for its new to me. UPS has been working hard over here. This week I added Piaa driving lights, a KN CIA, MSD coil pack, new plugs and wires. Running great in this nice spring weather! I couldn't believe the condition of the old air filter b4 I changed it.

Last night I got my new stripes in the mail. The old ones had been stained by a few birds who obviously prefer another brand. The stripes have a carbon fiber patern and are simple awesome. Found them on EBay for $50, they came out great. Highly recommend.

I'll upload a photo once I figure out how.

I installed my Megan Racing coilovers yesterday after lots of cursing I decided to do the adjustable rear control arms in a few days when I had a little more time (or maybe just pay the shop to install them when they do the alignment, they're a race shop specializingg in German cars and have done tons of Mini's before). I must say the Megan's are a lot lower than I expected, I had to crank them up a bit all around after initial install and I'm still uncertain if the rear is too low for my taste or not (I usually prefer the rear slightly higher than the front).

a quick iPhone shot after cleaning the wheels and hosing the car off

Wow....That's pretty low. I've decided to let my mechanic do mine. Do
you have them set to the lowest position? Those are the same ones I'm
putting on. I figure for $500 for the coils, links, torque arm mount insert, and intercooler install I'll save myself some cursing.
Good job though.

My ALL4 got her first test in hauling a piece of antique furniture! The small bookcase actually fit in the back seat, but maneuvering into place was a bit tricky. Will probably go in the back route next time. Now I just have to get the bookcase back out...

yea these go so much lower than I expected. I first set them about 4 threads from the bottom and then went and adjusted to about 8-10 threads from bottom in rear, the fronts have a ton of room to go lower. I had been reading some long thread about BC coilovers that mentioned Megan's quite a bit and fully expected them to not go as low as they can go (I'm pretty sure that thread is severely outdated which is something I've found quite a bit of on this board ). I'm going to play with the control arms right now to fix that camber in the rear.

Removed that little white plastic pin from the front strut towers. Loosened and shoved the struts inward to get my .9 degree camber mod. Will test tomorrow when the roads dry out.

Installed TSW springs (hoping it settles a bit), IE fixed camber plates (now -2.0 camber), strut brace. Really enjoyed working outside in this beautiful weather. Next is to install my rear control arms to get the camber back to a reasonable number and I need to clean it good....

Mike
