Oh, so sorry, I tend to be short with words...

2007 MCs.
Custom Leather Interior.

Took it in on a trade, knew the first and second owner, so I decided to make a small upgrade! :D

She's driving great!

Ordered my first mods: Light In Sight and a Shorty antenna. Excited to change the RC car look and to have increased visibility!

I ordered stickers to cover up those obnoxious airbag warning labels on the visor!

Added my shorty antenna, valve caps (black unionjack), and rubber floor mats.
Then I went to the auto parts store and loaded up on new detailing supplies. It was a good day for my Mini!

"Joey Mod"

So I don't have a lot of black on my car. With a silver roof and silver stripes, blacked out headlights would look ridiculous, so I went with silver. I think it looks pretty good, since the headlight is originally chrome, the silver seems a little subtle, and since I don't have xenons, I couldn't paint the entire housing, but I really like how it looks.

Scooter09,

Looks great! Considering doing something very similar on mine. Waiting for my stripes to get installed then I'll be moving onto the Joey mod so I can see how the stripes look first! Friday the stripes happen so I'm stoked!

I know the Joey mod has something to do with changing your headlight's housing color... but what exactly is a Joey mod? And how did it get it's name? I searched... and found too many threads to help.

Joey mod is painting the inside of your headlights which is especially popular on Xenons as you can paint the entire inside housing (the halogen bulbs require a portion to be reflective to actually work). Lots of people make the inside of their lights body color or like in this case the color of his stripes. As far as the name...I don't know where it came from!

The name Joey mod has been around quite a while, I first heard of it on the VWVortex boards maybe what, 10 years ago? I have little doubt it started with the honda crowd, but can't be sure <runs off to check Wikipedia, finds nothing> Urban Dictionary lsits only a definition, and there are posts available going well prior to 2004...

Took the Mr. Beanmobile in for our first oil change and to check it top to bottom. Found some issues that will have to be delt with in the coming months, but nothing out of the ordinary for an 05. Everyone was great at the Prestige Mini. I of course enjoyed checking out all the new Minis

I replaced the "remote toy car antenna" with a 4" stubby. IMHO, it sure looks better, just hope it works as well as the 'whip" that Mini installed.
