[QUOTE=walk0080;3408554Finally washing the car tonight for the first time. Weather is clearing up and power washer is fixed. I have thick brake dust on the rims and I have brake dust sprayed all along the front fender and front doors![/QUOTE]

Don't get to over zealous with the power washer, you'll be taking your paint off if you do!!

For Brake Dust issues there are several products on the market to help minimize the need to clean your wheels, like...http://www.sonax.com/, everyone of course has his/her own ideas on the perfect product!!

I just cleaned every piece of Trim, Glass, and Wheels last night, including vacuuming the interior, spent a couple of hours in the garage with Molly spiffying her up for our Club Meeting tonight. I used Griot's Garage Spray on Car Wash on the Wheels, to clean them then some Griot's Garage Spray on Car Wax. I did not however touch a body panel because of the gunk and grime on her now, hopefully with the weather supposed to be nice this weekend I can give her a proper bath.

Yes for sure - I would prefer just a hose but that is what I have in my apartment building. I try to keep my distance so that I just give it a wash and rinse rather than rip the paint off. The rest I do by hand with two buckets with grit guards. Fortunately the brake dusk wasn't caked on, I just wiped off with soapy water. One of my neighbors was waiting and he does car detailing - he seemed happy with my approach

Wait ’til he releases the Sound Stage - you’ll be blown away. He’s used my car for R&D so I have the prototype now. As far as I know production has begun so keep your eyes open!

I’m stoked to have gotten my first wheel back from the shop at my school - powder coated black. I love that I’m laying out $40 for the powder coat and the labor is free.

Drove 400km to visit family for a few days up "North". Lack of lumbar on the leatherette seats mildly annoying and will be fixed shortly. Raising head rest to max height seems to eliminate annoyance I have with 2009+ headrests. Cruise control worked great - JCW has no issues maintaining constant speed on steep inclines. Not a fan of highway driving during break-in period but no time for back roads so I made sure I did some speed changes, gear changes every so often. Factory JCW exhaust definitely LOUD and not designed for long distance cruising - will perhaps set cruising speed a little lower on the way back. Hit 1,100 km total mileage today.

Car looks great after being washed - but I feel sad it has to sit outside in the cold tonight. I bought a brand new snow brush/scraper with extra soft bristles just in case.

The exhaust should start getting pretty lively soon. You notice any differences on your JCW? I got a significantly loud pop during gear change on an on-ramp today, the third one I've heard so far. Made even my wife smile.

That is in addition to the constant burbling, etc. that I am hearing since 150km on the odometer.

Love your Mini and your family.
Best of Holidays to you all.
Also, since it was 70 degrees here yesterday I gave mine the good 'ole washing and detailing number. Looks good again but this week is suppose to get colder and rain. Oh well, she'll wash up again.

Took out the trash...

... in theory I believe the ALTA PSRS is great, but I don't have the time or resources to get the metal sleeves welded on to the control arms to keep them from coming loose and rattling. Note the ground out spots because the set screws got jammed in, and the extra holes I had to drill to fit the 2011+ control arm because my friend broke the u-joint boot on my original one. Needles to say, the PSRS had been a pain in my butt. I replaced them with some POWERFLEX bushings, I like them so far, less road noise.

Took him on a run sponsored by my local dealership to collect some goods for a local food pantry. Filled a Countryman and I got to sweep for a change - too much fun being in the back of the line.
