F55/F56 Week 27 build -- this is your status thread!
Picked up Dobby tonight. Bad: I live only 15 minutes from the dealer so it was a short drive to get home. Good: This car is AMAZING! The seats are much more comfortable than the sport seats in the Clubbie I've been driving for a couple months. Having the Driving Assistant put the speed limit in the HUD is really cool. Big surprise - the cloth JCW seats have the lumbar support. I wasn't expecting that because I don't think they did on the '14, but I could be wrong. Soooo much to learn though. I got home after dark and sat in the garage awhile just fiddling with stuff. Pics to come when we have some daylight.
One more thing: at some point in the looking then ordering process I mentioned youifying with valve stem caps. When I picked up my car, my MA had installed the union jack valve stem caps gratis. Nice touch!

My MA just called me and my car just came in. I can't pick it up on Thursday because of work, but will pick it up on Friday. So the date of Oct 8th was the date on OL for long time until they changed it to Oct 5th and the car came in on Oct 8th. Yesterday I was told that car was not coming in until Oct 10th. Mass Confusing but YEA and I am happy Camper now!!!!
Busy day at work today, because I missed post #1000 to this thread.
I had no idea when I started it, that it would be October and still waiting for the car. Oh well -- it is what it is, and it has been $ beneficial to me.

I got the 3 cylinder as well, was considering stripes but think I may have a custom decal instead. Not quite sure yet.. Need to see what her "personality" is first!
Funny you should mention that. I was looking at the number of views and replies in this thread recently and thought, wow, little did you know when you started this...

Glad to see everyone finally getting theirs too! Though SA said he still had no idea what the hold up was on the S hardtop automatic. So I do hope those of you waiting for that get yours released soon too!
Poor me.....will this ever end?????? As more of you get your babies, I get sadder and sadder...I AM happy for you, but quite a bit green eyed.
I could so use an email or a phone today from my MA....
Have fun motoring!!!(says me weakly)

I know the feeling. All I know is "released to truck on 10/4." It's taking an awful long time to get here...
I know this is of no consolation, but for what it's worth: mine was released to carrier on 10/2 and got to the dealer on 10/7 --- and my dealer is 5-6 hours away from the VDC according to google maps. It is so very soon now for all. The light at the end of the tunnel is shining bright! (Yeh, easy for me to say having picked up my car last night, but still....) What will we do without the week 27 thread? Will we be week 27-ers for life?
Remember, just because your only 5-6 hours or even 1000 miles from the VDC it all depends on the truck route and what makes the most sense to the carrier to deliver the most number of cars in the most efficient manner.

Also keep in mind just because it was "released to carrier" on date xx/xx does not mean it's even been loaded on a truck for transport. It was simply assigned to a particular carrier and will be loaded/en-route once a route has been established and a slot is open on that route for your car.

I just went through that as well. The car was released to carrier on 10/4 and sat until 10/8 before it left the VDC. The AskMINI dude said it ought to be at the dealer tomorrow but I'm resisting getting excited.
It's funny that I have an app which will accurately show me where UPS has the crappy $12 DVD I ordered but the location of my $30K+ car is an unsolvable mystery.

Talked to my salesman today and he confirmed that my MC in port (Hueneme) has NOT been released to the trucking company. It has been there since Sep. 5. He said the work order has been started, which is what I was told 2 weeks ago. The only item they could be working on is putting on the bonnet stripes. So it looks like AT LEAST another full week before I would see it. On the bright side he said he has heard MINI was compensating us patient purchasers and he would do something to make me happy.

I will stop now, because the more I type the angrier I get.

I think I remember now reading some other posts that the estimated time from the Baltimore port was approximately 17 days. I wondered why it would take so long, your explanation makes that make sense.
Blood pressure coming down....Namaste!
I have a car!
No pics as it was dark by the time I got home so I'll try to get some tomorrow.
SUPER quick first impressions - The good.... LED lights 10 times better than expected. Wow, what a difference. Same for the Harmon Kardon system. So much better than the base version in my R50. Much quieter inside than the R50 as well (in a good way). The bad... swirl marks.... dear lord, why do they do this to these cars.

Ours was 'released to transport' on the 2nd but that was obviously not true. The dealer contacted Waggoners and they had not picked up the car. Meanwhile the dealership has received 3 2015's THAT ARE NOT SOLD and ours apparently just got on a truck and may be in Saturday morning. So much for shipping sold cars out on a first-in/first-out basis. The dealer tells me that even if they get it in Sat morning they will prep it for delivery that day. I really can't blame the dealership for this mess. This is all Mini and I'm at the point where I don't believe much of anything anyone from Mini Corp tells me.
Owners Lounge says mine is at the dealership!
It was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday and I'm hoping to pick it up first thing tomorrow.
I can't imagine the dealership actually calling me on their own so I guess I'll give them until this afternoon to make sure it'll be ready.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

I don't think the holiday will make any difference, hammer. It's not something that affects businesses other than banks and mail delivery.
