Saw this article tonight:

Kind of explains the reason for the problem, but isn't it amazing that MINI USA didn't say this in the first place?

Two weeks? My delivery date is estimated at October 9-13, and that is supposedly expedited by MINI USA. Where are you hearing 2 weeks?
Don't think two weeks. Picked up a loaner this weekend, SA was going away for his anniversary and I mentioned ours is Halloween. As we were leaving he said "if I don't see you before Halloween happy anniversary!" That didn't exactly make me feel like they were coming through early. Although he did say he heard something about the EPA testing and that the MPG might actually be better than was originally posted, which would be nice!
I took g----greg's post to mean our cars will be released in 2 weeks (plus technically a little more). Once things are moving, even though our wait is not entirely over, it kind of seems like it is because there will be an end in sight. I keep hoping the OL will change for the sooner, but still says Oct 8. My dealer said mine was the first 2015 ordered from them and we're not far from VDC so maybe it will arrive a day or two sooner, but not counting on it.
i was just thinking about October 1. I might have to start another countdown when that gets here
I've been told by the rep at Mini USA that he marked ours to be some of the first to leave the port. He's probably blowing smoke, but who knows.

Oh I know we're all thinking about that 1 Oct date dangling in front of our noses like a carrot. All I know for sure is that some day I will have my baby, hopefully sooner rather than later! I have friends visiting from London in Oct and it sure would be nice to drive them around in my new baby! (I can't name her until I drive her.)

I have been told the cars coming to Ontario are being moved from Halifax to Toronto which is good news as it cuts down on the transportation time when they are finally released.
There's also a Mini dealership in Ontario, CA. Let's hope their customers cars aren't being diverted to Canada lol!
Hello fellow Mini friends. I just got an email from my MA stating that according to her general manager, all Mini's being held at the port are expected to ship to the dealers on October 1st regardless of the test results. She stated that if my car is loaded on the 1st, it should arrive that Saturday or Sunday and begin delivery prepping. I am supposed to talk with her more this week regarding the game plan so I will keep you all informed.
At least it sounds like some good news for a change. Does anyone know if these cars are covered with a plastic wrap at the factory for shipping protection and in our case, long term outside storage. I am just wondering if I need to look for signs of paint damage from sea gulls.
Good news! (fingers crossed) Lilspeedy I asked about that and was assured they are covered by some kind of plastic to protect them. Still going over it with a fine tooth comb, as prep wasn't exactly on the ball with the loaner covered in cig ash & garbage everywhere.
I put my order in on 8/29, originally thinking that it would be an Oct build/Nov delivery. Got an email from my dealer a few days later saying that it was scheduled for production already, and might be an October delivery. Fast forward to last week, I've got a VIN and an estimated production date of 9/16/14.
Once it's at that point how long does it usually take for the car to get built and loaded onto the boat? I'm trying to be as patient as I can be and not spam my dealer with requests for updates, haha. I'm just so excited for the car to come in!

Go back to the first few pages of Week 27 where some great Mini owners figured out how to track their Mini once you have a VIN, and there you will see the name Wallenius, a shipping company that carries most of the Minis to North America. Using their tracking feature you will be able to follow your car across the ocean. I think it takes about a week after production to show up on the dock....others in Week 27 are the experts on this matter. Have fun following your car.
