Week 27 build -- this is your status thread!

Since there's a West Coast July 26th thread, I figured we need a Week 27 thread.

Mine still shows On Order state, which is good because I'm trying to get the alarm system removed. The dealer tried to delete it yesterday, but it wouldn't let him. He's supposed to contact NJ today. I was a bit concerned that it might "lock" before he gets it changed, but he said "don't worry, we'll order you a new one if it does". But I don't want to wait any longer than I have to as my 2009 MCS was sold on May 30th and my 2001 Sport Trac doesn't drive quite like the Mini

Too funny. I think we are all going through the same thing. I got my alarm removed, but now I need it to lock before I convince myself to change seats....

I believe our cars will be week 27. Not positive.
I just checked and the tracker did update to show mine in the correct blue color. When he first entered it it showed up as black. So something must be happening!

Yeah, my wallet went a bit too crazy. I took the savings going from an MCS to an MC and poured it all and more into options. And then when I made the switch from a 2014 build to a 2015 build, along came the new forced options. Mini relents on the options, and do I take all three out? No, just one.

But, the leather sure is nice Had it on the MCS, getting it again on the MC.

It can take up to three to four days for an order to reflect what you have chosen. The way it was explained to me is the dealer has allocation slots where an order is placed with a given set of options. Then when the dealer gets a build your own order, they will take a not locked order in the system and replace the choices with your order. The dealer gives you this production number, you register, and the order still shows the old information until it updates with your selected options.

The Lounge is telling me she's "scheduled for production" and a phone call gives me July 1 as the date. Are any of the 2015's scheduled for sooner than July 1? (MCS ordered June 19).

I thought the alarm was a 'forced' option if you get the comfort access? Did this change?

It changed late Friday sometime.

And it may be too late to get mine changed. Not too happy. Dealer seems to be backing off "build you another one" -- of course I could refuse order, but I want the car yesterday. He's calling his rep to see if a change can be still be done somehow via backdoor processes...

And, the rear camera and PDC options being forced on you have changed too.

I think you need to order that 2015, no more excuses

P.S. Automated system says scheduled for production with no given date --> implying a lock. Bummer.

I'd keep harrassing your MA..... We both seem to be in the same status and my MA switched it out first thing this morning. I was in "ordered" status last week, and when I check today had switched to "scheduled". He should be able to get you taken care of.

Mini-Mine, yep aafflyer summed it up. Seems Mini listened and got rid of the hostage options. I'm a happy camper now.

At this point I fully expect to be stuck with the unwanted option. Which I'm actually pretty frustrated about it because I really feel the dealership dropped the ball if your MA was able to get this changed this morning.

I emailed my MA Friday evening telling what I learned, asking it to be changed, and then for me to be notified. And requested delivery notification so I would know it was seen. Nothing back, so Sat morning at 11 am I called. Was told email was passed to manager. Asked when I'd hear back. Told should be that day. Nothing. Emailed manager Sunday morning for status. Got an immediate email back "will do as soon as I get to dealer at 11 am". By 1 pm, heard nothing, so sent another email. I got a phone call "system won't let me do it", I'll have to check it tomorrow. Wait today til approx 11, nothing. New email. Phone call back, "system not letting me do it" Me, "do you think you could call Mini and see if they can do it? I assume you have like an order help desk." Him, "I'll see what I can do". 1 pm, no reply, another email "since I sent this on Friday night and someone else got it changed by their MA today and they are week 27 too, I'll be very disappointed if this can't be removed". Email back an hour later "I left a message with rep and sent an email, haven't heard back yet. When I do, I'll let you know.".

Me, hopeful, but thinking it becomes less likely to be removed unless it happens very soon. But besides the $500 which I would prefer not to spend, I really. really dislike alarms and don't want to be dealing with one that can be going off. I don't want to be jinxing myself, but that's what insurance is for...

Well this is good news for 2015 orderers, but we rushed to order a 2014 because of this. If we had known this we would have waited. I wonder if this was MINI's way to push a few more 2014 orders through. I'm a little annoyed. Of course the car hasn't come in yet, we just have a deposit. We could order a 2015 but my wife is like a kid before Christmas, I think if we wait any longer she is going to hold her breathe until she turns blue.

Mmm, not to toot my horn but I wonder if my feedback actually helped in this decision?!

I wasn't shy at all telling them specifically why I decided to leave MINI after 2 justas and the 2015 'forced' options were a big part of it. That makes me happy if this in any way helped change it to help out my fellow motorers! I'm still happy with my decision overall, but do miss my R56 MINI. However, I'm still not a fan of the F56 at all.

FWIW both Mini USA and then my dealer's sales manager told me yesterday that I could not add the Wired Package to my already scheduled production. I was trying to add it but without the mandatory camera and parking (+$1,000). Too late, they said. (Prod. sched. for July 1).

So now I'm not sure whether the camera and PDC are still mandatory for new orders with Wired Package.

Totally confused.

Been trying to get alarm deleted from build. Dealer has sent email and left voice mail with rep, and no reply [assumption, because after a follow-up I was told I'd hear something as soon as they heard something].

Frustrated, so called 1 866 ASK MINI to see if they could perhaps help.

But my MA15 model with a week 27 build is in production now with a date complete of July 2. If true, that would definitely mean the alarm is not coming off the build.

Asked if they could give me my VIN, person on phone said they didn't have it but I could ask my dealer -- which I'm not doing at this point. I want to see when and if they ever get back to me on their attempts to drop the alarm from the build.

So, is anyone else's week 27 now in production too???

Last thing, if it does come in as a 2014, I'm definitely refusing and reordering.

MINI states that there are 185 MY2015 orders with the "forced options" that cannot be modified. Hopefully those orders do not belong to any of the above peeps.

Wow, don't know where you have access to the info.

And I sure am happy to be one of 185 ...

Also found another $200 pricing "get all you can" anomaly too when I looked through all the options and prices very carefully. When you are order the non-S with the JCW Interior package, with a leather seat option, and the Sport package (by itself or part of fully loaded), the JCW interior package is $200 more for the non-S than S. So if you look at all the options, that's because you are paying for the Sport seats upgrade with the custom JCW stripe. But if you are paying for leather, you aren't getting the stripe, and the leather price is the same for S and non-S, so that's not it. And the Sports package on the non-S includes sport seats (i.e. the price is built into the package). So by reckoning, the JCW interior package should be $400 when another package with sport seats is already in your build

Anyway, I suspect these 185 people are the 2015 builds that are actually in production now.

I'm special
