Electrical NCSExpert DIY(do it yourself)
Straight from REVTOR!!
To those still contacting me for "Revtor's NCS Expert Profile"... The profile has been renamed to "NCS Dummy profile" many years ago and download links are provided in chapter 6 of the NCS Dummy user manual. Unlike "Revtor's NCS Expert Profile", the "NCS Dummy profile" is available for both NCS Expert 3.* and 4.*. Furthermore the "NCS Dummy profile" defaults to reading trace files (CODIERDATEN_LESEN) instead of coding (SG_CODIEREN) which is more logical and safer.
NCS Dummy profile for NCS Expert 3.* (1 kB) (NCSDUMMY3.PFL)
NCS Dummy profile for NCS Expert 4.* (1 kB) (NCSDUMMY4.PFL)

Thats the first ive seen of the NCS profile change. ive been trying to install and get this software communicating with my 2013 R56 for three days. tried many different "standards tools" packages, many different Datens up to v50 and still nothing. I get the two black dots in INPA but cannot read my cars modules. All i want to do is be able to code stuff but instead I just get the "VIN is Faulty" code and no one has helped. I see a lot of ppl that experience this problem and then they just post "fixed" without an explanation of how.

What OS, what version of EDIBIAS?
PM me
VIN faulty is the cable or driver issue.

1.Uninstall the NCSEXPERT you have right now.
2. Restart computer
3. Reinstall NCSEXPERT BUT DO NOT install the datens from the installation file/folder, instead install only the newest Datens.
4. Proceed with installation as normal.
If that doesn't work then most likely it is the cable. Usually what people do is follow the old instructions on installing NCSEXPERT and the old Daten folders, but then try to update the Daten folder with the newest one. However the folders contain incompatible files when mixed together so it causes the program not to work properly. In other words, usually improper update method is the culprit.
Can't disable OC3 sensor
Hi Guys I'm having issues disabling my OC3 sensor in my 2007 justa via NCSExpert. I have everything running well, no errors while reading the modules, etc. I am well aware that others have succeeded by setting OC3_1 and OC3_2 to nicht_aktiv on ABG, but when I head there I only have the OC3 option. No OC3_1 nor OC3_2. are those options hidden? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone been able to disable the auto window down function from the keyfob?
I see that you can enable the close function to compliment the open listed in the spreadsheet.
I found this function value on a BMW forum.
KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA which referred to opening for those cars
Wonder if this works on Minis?
I'd try but haven't yet been able to get NCSExpert working properly with my mini.

Disabling Speed Overestimation
Using NCS Expert/NCS Dummy, I successfully disabled the speed overestimation via BC_DIGITAL_V_KORREKTUR, but, it affected only the digital speedometer. The analog speedometer and even the speed control still read high, as before, so, for example, to make the car cruise at an actual 50 MPH, I still have to set the speed control to 52 -- the digital speedo reads 50, and the analog one reads 52.
I haven't found any references to this effect in the various threads. Is it normal, or do I also need to change another parameter? If it's normal, that's fine -- I rarely look at the analog speedo -- but if it can be corrected, I'd like to take care of it.
Also, just a heads-up for anyone who does this: disabling the speed overestimation zeroed out the clock, the trip odometer & some related items, and also reset a couple other things, such as the automatic door locking. It scared me for a minute, because I thought I'd done some damage, but it was just a matter of setting the clock & putting a couple other settings back to the way I wanted them.

And to disable the comfort opening windows with keyfob, set KOMFORTOEFFNUNG_FB to nicht_aktiv. This setting can be found in CAS-module.
Hi,
I am finally all set to get NCS running on my WIndows 7 laptop. I bought the cable and it works with INPA. The problem is that NCS doesn't work on Win 7. I tried to install the XP VM, but that took up a lot of space and also I couldn't get the files to share between operating systems.
Does anyone have an easy fix for this?
Cheers!

But the procedure is the same as for R56.

Snowflake / Road Ice Warning Disable?
Anyone know the Module and function title to disable Snowflake / Road Ice Warning?
I found this in the spreadsheet "Road Freeze Temperature Warning Change to nicht_aktiv to eliminate the Check Control message when the temp falls past 37°F KOMBI CC_TEMPERATURWARNUNG" but this was already set to nicht_aktiv when I read my KOMBI module from ECU and I still get the snowflake.

I somehow have disabled the 3x momentary turn signal by trying to code the FRM in my 2011 MCS. It still shows as an option on the car, but when selected it immediately reverts to single blink. I have no idea how to fix it. How can I restore the car to defaults?
Edit: I think I fixed the problem by disabling trace file manipulation on the revtor profile and coding the vehicle order back. I'm pretty sure at least some of the original coding problem is due to an incorrect profile I used. The revtor profile produced an error when I tried to code FRM. Instead I used expertmodus and it did something (the lights in the car turned off momentarily) but it obviously didn't code properly. Is there an appropriate profile to use for coding our cars?

Thanks to jbourne , I have allocated on a spreadsheet the mods that I have tried and know they work - ppl who have tried other new mods are adding them on the sheet.
Here is the spreadsheet , you need to request to view it (please do not edit randomly afterwards
) and I will allow you view/edit it.[/I]

Retrofit Navigation - Add $609 (navigation) and $6UH (RTTI) to the VO (both CAS & FRM). Remove $6FC (boost radio).
Years: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
Definitely does not apply to 2011 or later models.
