Thanks for the instructions! I was able to delete the airbag passenger sensor codes and turn off the airbag light.

Thanks again!

Want to set code on 2011 Mini Cooper Convertible

Hi All,

I would like to set following codes on my 2011 Mini cooper convertible

1. Auto un-lock when in Park mode.
2. Disable all light checks on start of the car
3. Able to close soft top from remote key.

I have the cable which I can attach to Mini . I tried to work with NCS Expert software. But it is not working on my laptop which has Windows 7 64 bit version.

I would be very much thankful if some one can help me out with this.

Appreciate!

Thanks
MC1973

Windows not detecting driver

When I direct Windows to the folder that the cable driver is in, it can't find it.

I am using Windows 7.

Please help!

For those using windows 7, make sure your not running the 64bit system. IF you ARE then you will need to upgrade from windows 7 home to windows 7 pro or ultimate so that you can download the windows XP mode software. This allows you to basically use windows XP and do all your coding. As long as your running a 64bit system, most of these programs will not function.

The latest version of the toolset - .12, does support x64 Windows 7, thanks to Chernobyl. I've used it myself. I just posted it to my Google Drive account so you should be able to download it

Yeas Sky Jumper is correct and Chernobyl, made an amazing package for us R56erz. It makes the install a breeze too. But for those using the older tools package, you must use XP Mode in a VM

For those running Windows 8, Oracle VBox is free, and works!

Thanks so much for posting this! I was going to buy the upgrade to Win 7 Professional today, so that I could run NCSE in XP mode, and you saved me the trouble and expense -- just in time.

ALL issues solved! Thanks to Chernobyl and TVPostSound! It was my cable. If your cable comes in and has a white, blue, red, or whatever other color that is NOT green.... Just send it back! Order from ecutools.com and ask for green. After experiencing problems and with the help of these two, we all determined the cable was at fault. Go GREEN!!! Theres numerous cases online where on the green ones work. Woot, successfully coded my wimdow up via key fob, more to come!

I just had to say thanks again for posting this: I just did my first mod -- in Windows 7 64-bit -- enabling the closing of the windows & sunroof via the key fob! I nearly jumped up & down in my driveway, until I remembered that I'm 60 years old and might hurt something.

Next up, fix that ridiculously optimistic speedometer!

I have installed the software per your .pdf. The INPA software works but there is a compatibility issue with NCS Expert. Is this common? I am on Windows 7 SP1.

Thanks,
Mepalm

CONFIRMED WORKING ON WINDOWS 8.1 Pro 64bit and 2013 Cooper S Coupe (R58)

Thank you for doing this! I had my 2013 Cooper S Coupe into the dealership and in turn they had updated the software on the car and believe I am on a newer datens than what is in this post. If the datens files i have work, i'll post a link to them and how to copy them into this installation.

Btw, very nice little batch script for the upgrade. i work in IT and do app deployment so totally appreciate things like that

mepalm: See my post above. I also have Win 7 SP1 and had no problems running the updated NCSE & NCS Dummy (maybe that was the key to my success). I now have an accurate digital speedometer, remote window & sunroof closing, European hazard flashers, etc.

2014 Roadster

Has anyone had any success with a 2014 S Roadster? From all my research on NCS Expert and the OBD2 cable I have not found anything that mentions the R59.

It will be like any other 2nd gen MINI. Some coding may not work for equipment your Roadster doesn't have (like sunroof tweaks), but most everything should work.

Visit this thread for current datens:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...r60-guide.html

The thread is an R60 thread, but again, all the 2nd gen MINIs are the same when it comes to coding and the datens listed there will work with any 2nd gen MINI

Installed v53 datens and programmed the auto unlock with key removal and window close with lock on key fob. The auto unlock only unlocks the driver door (would like both doors) and the window close does not function. Thoughts? Should I go with older datens?
