Updated EDIABAS to 7.2, but it seemed to be missing a lot of files, so I used the old referenz install to fill in the files.
Here's where I am now:
EDIABAS 7.2 NCS
vin is faulty
COAPI 2000 EDIABAS or SGBD error
IFH-0018 Initialization error
INPA
Group file D_0074
SYS-0005 object file not found
Here's where I am now:
EDIABAS 7.2 NCS
vin is faulty
COAPI 2000 EDIABAS or SGBD error
IFH-0018 Initialization error
INPA
Group file D_0074
SYS-0005 object file not found

The quoted text for updating the Daten files specifically. Also, did you keep your original ediabas.ini file? (copy it over from your old directory)
bmwcoding's download, if I recall correctly just 'worked' after you dropped in the daten files and updated to 7.2.

After downloading another 3 ALIBABAS rar's and NCSexperts and Standard Tools 11 (error) and 10, and getting the same exact errors I made one last desperate attempt to fix it, by doing something I learned in the Corps...
...hitting and cussing at it.
After I slammed the connector into my OBD port I was able to get NCSexpert to read my vin and I even managed to create a trace file with my current settings (I think). Then I was too far into NCS and I didn't know what to do, so I tried to figure it out. The directions said to close out NCS and reopen it to do the coding, but now I'm getting the cable errors again, and NCS stopped responding.
I think the cable is FUBAR and needs to be replaced by a (probably) more expensive one.
[edit] YES! The cable is a POS. One of the wires (white) came out of the circuit board while trying to read the modules, causing all kinds of errors. Glad it didn't happen while WRITING or I'd have been WAY $%*@ED!
This is the all blue one held together by white glue from the Romanian seller on Ebay btw...trying to get my money back and order another (yet still cheap) cable...
I'm going to try to modify the trace file or whatever to find the options I want changed, just in case I can get the cable to work again for a few minutes...

Got my new cable the other day, and I expected it to work since I was finally able to get the old cable sorta working. Plugged the new one in, but it didn't work at all, not even the black battery/ignition circles in INPA. After another thousand installs/uninstalls trying to get a working configuration it still doesn't work.
I'm about to @#$%can this whole @#$* thing because it's such a time consuming pita. The first cable was from eBay, the second from Amazon.
I started thinking maybe there's a problem with my OBD connector or the k-line, but my regular code reader seems to work just fine. Is there any way to test these cables to verify whether it's a software problem or a hardware issue?

Mini R56 Code list
All,
Below is a link to a spread sheet containg a list of the modifiable code for the mini R56 (cas,frm,speg,2rad...). Feel free to update the sheet and add meanings to the code list. It is on google docs so all may edit.
feel free to add worksheets for modules that aren't listed.

Same problem here...
For google getting:
"Sorry, the page (or document) you have requested is not available.
Please check the address and try again."
and for 4shared
"The file link that you requested is not valid."

I can get this spreadsheet on google docs to display
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...XFjY3Zicmc2Tnc
but it will not let me print, save it as an excel file or print it as a PDF... is it locked from doing these things for some reason?
My bad... the web page was displaying and error in the status bar, but after I closed the window, I saw the excel file were downloaded. Duh!

Is it possible to program the horn to honk with the remote (with the lock or unlock button)? I'm finding it annoying that it doesn't because I have a parking garage at home and sometimes the wife drives the car and forgets wear she parks. As a result I end up walking around the garage looking for my car. The horn beep would definitely help.

Hi all,
Got a question about programming with NCS Expert.
My problem is, I can read the module and get the trace file, however, when trying to write the file, it write, but when I shut down NCS expert and re-read the module again, nothing change.
What did I do wrong? I follow the instructions fully already.
I have a SU33 2011 Mini Cooper with build date 05/2011.
thanks

Still need this? I do coding on BMWs and have INPA/NCSExpert running nicely. I am still having trouble finding the R50 chassis files, for MINIs older than 2007. But I do have the latest (V46) R56 files. I'd be willing to help. I live in Alexandria.
