OHHHH!!!! How exciting! Page 62 of the M62 thread!!!!! Are you guys in the final stages of the car yet?
One of the not so great debates...
Hmmmmmm. Tough choice....

I have an update on MINIBLU. The intial reports are quite encouraging. The M62 is on and has been dynoed. I am happy with the numbers told to me. I too am looking forward to having the header installed on MINIBLU.
Depending on when the header is ready will depend on when I get MINIBLU back.
Once MINIBLU and I can go for a ride I will post some personal experience info.....
Y'all have a good one!

Well, as long as we're all sitting around waiting for numbers could we get a summary of everything that will be included with the M62 kit? Obviously you get the supercharger and an electric water pump. What else comes with it and what could someone concidering this upgrade add to their car now? (so that you aren't buying two of anything once the kit is on the market.)
I would be almost certain it will come with an outlet adapter plate/assembly, as the outlet port dimensions and mounting holes are off from the M45's.

Granted, I read somewhere that the M45 on the Cooper S is of a slightly different mount than I can find from various data sheets, but the point still stands. There was one post...somewhere in some thread (you know how that goes) that showed an outlet port view of the M45 on our cars. It appeared to me as though 2 of the mounting holes on the left were not in alignment with the holes on the right (parallel vertically, but not horizontally).
I would think a new belt as well, as the water pump will now be electrically driven. As well, the considering the added size of the supercharger, its mounting, and its pulley size, I can't imagine the stock belt working. But I'm only guessing.
New injectors, or is the volume of airflow not enough to require it?
Oh, and nice to meet you all. I've been a lurker for around 5 months now and I finally decided to get my feet wet.

No problem....I am at work and trying to respond and work at the same time..... I apologize if I was short......
sincerely,

Any forward motion on the kit on a stock MCS? I remember reading about a beta test program for a wide variety of cars and I thought that parts were being shipped... pages and pages ago.
While I'm interested in what will happen to SpiderX's car with the M62, my car (and most of the MINIs on the road) are much closer to stock than to his already slick ride. I'm wondering what it would do as a stand-alone mod and a base for upgrades rather than it being a terminal stage to an already well-modded car.

agranger -> numbers for the "almost stock" car have been posted (no dynos). I believe it's a hot orange convertible... Flip back through the pages. (or someone who remembers the exact # will post 'em). They sounded pretty nice.

stock Mini does 192 whp with just a 62
this car did 150 whp before and 192 after...... it is a bone stock 02......now with an M62
this is impressive.......
Dave is working his butt off to get the M7 kit out the door tomorrow and after he does my car next week he will sit down and get some documentation posted...... Peter at M7 should be close to posting his results as well......

This car is MINIBLU. These are the numbers Dave gave me when we spoke. I can attest this car is stock. I am looking at adding a header in the next week or so. I hope to have the car back by the end of next week. Once MINIBLU and I can get some running time I will post more.

I thought long and hard about the very thing you mention. Do this first or last? I am sure there will be some considerable debate. I believe it to be first. This upgrade alone may give most drivers the hp and tq they are looking for. My car was stock save a CAI. I am more than happy with the numbers given to me by Dave. I look forward to getting the car back once a header has been installed.

Those are the numbers that I was told when Dave dynoed my car. I have not had opportunity (time) to get my dynoed again. That's still not enough and I will have head/header and other stuff done relatively soon. Hopefully by end of Feb it will all be completed. Goal: 230whp
