From reading this thread, communicating with Mark, his installer along with reading Dinan's site, I'm lead to believe Mark has Stage 3 Dinan software. If so, isn't this software designed for mods without the pulley? IF that is the case, isn't something 'lost' with the effect the software has on engine management AND the overall gain to be had with the pulley? Still on the fence here which way to go, which is why I ask.

Question for Mark.

Mark did you ever have any issues with the EML light and the check engine light coming on after you did your last install. After getting throttle body put in I am having the EML light to come on, the Check Engine light they said was a easy fix, and they were suppose to fix the EML last time I was in Nashville. Was wondering if anything I could do here before making the long trip to Nashville again?

it ain't broke

I have had ZERO issues with my set up..(unless you count a broken windshield)...No warning lites..no fuel starvation..I have learned to turn off DSC as needed.
I would never hesitate to recommend this set up.

if you have the Dinan cold air box, it should have the template so you know how much to cut out. you can also fit the box to the wall and makr the wdith of the cut and g on the depth of the opening on the box top. make sure you also install the gasket fat rubber side down so it meets the box for a proper seal.

Every 10 units = 1 hour......So if it says 29 units = 2.9 hours.

A gentle bump to check on the status of teh '05-'06 Software.

Going back on Feb 28th.

I am having a few issues with the EML and Service Engine light, and Jay told me that a updated software was issued for some of the same problems I am having. So not sure if the 05 software is being updated to the 06 but will let you know when I get back home on March 1st.

Still no word on the newer software being available yet. If your build date is older that 7/04 your ok with any updates that are needed. Im not aware though of any updates for Dinan software.

the dealer might be installing a newer DME software version which then you will have to re-flash the car again with the Dinan software.

All fixed up. Mini of Nashville, finally got it all right. Still a few issues but I can deal with these. And YES, BOY O BOY, can you tell a difference now that everything is working together. I wonder what a difference the cam shaft would make. I think I am gonna wait until warrenty runs out to put springs on. Not sure I wanta go with the Dinan springs. New rubber coming next week for my Birthday, BF Goodrich G Force and a good coat of wax, and I will be ready for the DRAGON!

Hey all, just for a clarification... Is the software for production date AFTER 07/04 availble yet? Specifically for the 05 MCS.

Thanks!

I've been waiting semi-patiently for stage 5 software for my 05 MCS, built march 05. Early this week, the Dinan salesman at my dealership called to say that the software had arrived for SOME 05 cars. He had me bring the car in so he could scan it to determine compatability of my car with the new software. His report was that "we are in business" (YAY!), based on what he scanned. We made an appointment to install my Dinan goodies late next week, including the stage 5 software.

I know they've been working on the 2005 software, but haven't heard confirmation it's done.. strange that the 2006 MCS is out and we still don't have an 05 SW...

Everything will be compatable with the 7/04 n up cars that are out now.

The software for cars produced 7/04 and on is still on hold.

Hmmm. This is contrary, at least in part, to what I was told by the Dinan specialist at my local dealer (Rasmussen in Portland). He said that all components were now available to put a 205 hp package in my 05 car. That includes boost kit (pulley & fuel regulator), stage 5 software, intake, throttle body and exhaust. We are scheduled to do the work this week.

He also said the software works on some 05 cars, but not on others. As I mentioned in previous post, he scanned my car and said in my case, we are good to go.

I believe my car is march 2005 build. 1FSTMINI, perhaps you can verify my build date? My vin number ends in 10281.

Oops. That'll teach me to actually reread posts instead of going by memory. The last 7 digits are TL 10281. Thanks for the info.

Brian tell them to hurry up, cause it is really awesome. Only thing I wish they would do is raise the rpm limiter to about 7600, seems like mine is set now with stage 5 to about 7200.

I called Dinan this morning, and here's what they had to say:

There are presently software versions (stage 5 in my case) out there that work for SOME 05 cars - but not all. According to the guy I spoke to at Dinan, there have been for awhile, with more being released as time goes by. By mid-April, there should be versions available that work in most 05 cars (we'll see).

He also said that if the dealer attempted to install the software in my car, and the car accepted it, then I should be good to go - which is what I did. He said that all the other requisite parts to put together a 205 HP package are definitely available. So at this point, I am still on course to have everything installed later this week.
