PM me with your email address, and I will send you a GMail invitation. You can send attachments up to 10MB with the GMail accounts, and I can receive them as well.

Santa came early

Just got my 05 mcsc back from Dinan..alta 15% pulley, Dinan CAI, stage 3 software...WOW! exhaust will come after the first of the year, but the difference is incredible..pulls so very smooth and strong..at normal acceleration, the supercharge whine sounds almost no different, but when I put my foot down, it SCREAMS !!!
I am trying to stop smiling....................................:thumbs up:

Wierd. You might try getting a GMail account and trying to send it from there. I've sent 10MB files before, so it should work.

I am interested in the Dinan parts and packages. Having had 4 BMW 3 series cars and two M3's I know Dinan's toys pretty well and agree that the company is skilled at producing better road cars... you have more cash and they make your car faster, turn better, stop better and still not be too much more harsh to drive around. It costs you cash only.

So, I have a new 06 Cooper S and want to know what is available for my car if I went this way. The web site lists most items and packages as cutting off at some point in 04 or 03. If I wanted power and suspension upgrades can you tell me what I can buy?

It looks like things such as the Stage 3 Suspension System are listed with both cost and labor units and I am not sure if this means the system costs $1636 installed or $1626 + (94 labor units * $x per unit).

Everything should be fine for the 05-06 in the suspension. The exhaust is being fixed and should be shipping soon, but as for the software...i cant tell you anything on that...You might wanna call Dinan.

Every 10 units = 1 hour......So if it says 29 units = 2.9 hours.

Thanks on the info 1STMINI.

Earlier in this thread you mentioned some package for $3800 installed that you were comparing to the JCW stuff. I could not find that bit but did find the S1 and S2 packages. Is it a defined package or sort of a build-your-own selection from the Dinan offerings?

The S1 comes with everything for engine mods less the boost kit plus they add the front strut brace.

If you ala' cart the engine upgrades ( ie. CAI,TB,EXH,BOOST KIT, Stage 5 software ) plus labor, its comes out to around $3800 installed.

You can piece any of there items together which still adds up to the same price as if you bought it in there package....You do get a Dinan decklid badge and also there signature series badge with its own seriel number. You cant buy these badges from them at all.

Ah, so if I got the S1 package and added the Boost Kit ($899 + 6 hours labor) I would be looking at ($1796 + 3 hours labor) + ($899 + 6 hours labor) but if I wanted I could drop the strut bar and go for the Boost which would push the total cost past the $1796 + 3 hours labor and it would still be considered an S1.

I should probably be asking these questions of my local Dinan dealers... You are doing Dinan a great service here though.

You got it...Thats roughly $3800 with tax installed.

its kewl....I do this for a living so the questions never get boring really . lol. This is a rough estimate with my hourly labor rate which is $110per hr.

I would start getting a feel for the shop that your looking to do the work with and see how they handle themselves with what your asking me as well. Anybody can bolt this n that to a car, but understanding what they did to achieve that power and explain it at the sametime without confusing the customer is the difference in a good tuner shop, or a bolt on shop. Hope that made any sense....lol

Stage 2 and 3 of the chip and mods. Stage two is the exhaust and reflash 182 hp...however if you look at the intake...with exhaust and stage 3 tuning its 179...

Please read that again......It shows your achieving more power with the exhaust than the intake.....The intake says it RECOMMENDS the exhaust which is not the power rating there showing.

Spent some time looking at the Dinan site and the S1 kit looks great until I can afford to upgrade to the Boost kit

Question though, is there somewhere I can get Dinan products here in Germany? (My 06 MCS will be US Spec (When I get it))

Thx

boost

why the need for fuel system upgrade with the boost kit? I read the official answer but I've never heard this before in relation to any other 15% pulley - but then I'm assuming it is a 15% reduction pulley - is that correct?

You got it...Thats roughly $3800 with tax installed. OMG I got robbed. Mini of Nashville charged me over 4600 for same mods. I had stage 1 installed this past July for about 2,200. I just had stage 5 installed with flaws for 2,475. What is the world coming to....

Thats insane.

Im gonna call my rep over there and see what he thinks about that. All Dinan dealers had to sign a contract about how they sell the products.

Stage 1 installed is $2126 plus tax. To upgrade to stage 5 and the boost kit is $1764 plus tax = $3890 plus tax. The engine upgrades are alil less b.c the stage 1 has a strut brace and floor mats.
