Props on the ongoing development, Randy. Respects and greetings from your old stomping grounds- Wellington! Gimme a ring if you'll be in town!
Where can I get that video? And will the exhaust be "legal" for street use when open? I can't imagine driving next to a golf course when open, then rev! Omg I'm gonna have to try that one, haha.

Now you know

Ok this thing will be awsome and I can't wait for mine but will have to with the recent money spent on other mods. Maybe by the MitM I will be ready for this sweet piece.

Nope, better close it in areas where their strict on sound

Doesn't mean you can't keep it open while your doing 80 in a 40 zone. I mean what's one more law to break?

I downloaded it (save-as) and tried it on the following:

Winamp
Windows Media Player
Quicktime
Div-X

None of which worked, and Firefox/IE also did not work.

If this is a true cutoff valve, some states ban the use of such a device on the public highways (including CA) and probably need the "off road use only " caveat.

I think it should be wired like the JCW CAI, to OPEN @ 4500 RPM! With all the engineers around hear I'm sure some could & will do it! I think that would be the way to go.
Just my .02 cents.

Problem is any shift will drop revs and close the valve. It may not open and close quick enough to keep up!

It seems like it takes 2-3-4 seconds for it to open and close

I like the idea of driver control, I regularly run wide open getting on the highway, and only really want to have the exhaust open when I'm at the track or doing autocross, but if it cimes with a switch it sounds like a simple enough mod.

I thought a throttle controlled valve was the original idea but Randy found that it made more power at all rpm's with the valve open. I like the idea of a user adjustable valve. Use it only when you want to.

There has been some talk of tying it in with the Unichip for auto open and close depending on conditions...... Josh at Unichip said he may do something with this... it would be cool if you could have it in open/closed or auto mode.... Josh,.....are you listening?

Yeah I mean you guys have to keep in mind that this valve isn't exactly as quick as a Rhyphix or TB. Now if it was, that would be sweet, but I really don't think it would be practical for my use, and that of most of the people that have shown interest. I don't want every barney fife in a .5 mile radius to know I just got on it.

I do though....

But seriously, this is the best exhaust system i've ever heard on a MINI by far....but why does it cost so much? I heard it's $800-$900!

Why? Isn't it illegal in Indiana to have an exhaust bypass?

IC 9-19-8-4
Muffler cutouts and bypasses
Sec. 4. A motor vehicle may not be equipped with any of the following:
(1) A muffler cutout.
(2) A bypass.
(3) Any similar device.
As added by P.L.2-1991, SEC.7. http://www.in.gov/legislative/ic/cod...r19/ch8.htmlNo worries, its only a small fine and a maybe a few days in the pokey.

If it makes you feel any better, Gabe (MotoringFile)'s Supersprint exhaust was $1100-$1200 MSRP.

The last I heard Randy was struggling to get the price of the valve which was about $250 down.

Hi Guys, sorry for jumping in. I've been at the AMVIV event this pass 3 days and I was one of the few people on the list for the new WMS exhaust to be installed but it didn't happen. Turns out only one showed up and I was pretty pissed! The really bad news is that you guys might have to wait alittle longer now because I saw them having trouble installing the exhaust due to fitment issues on the lucky guy who got one. I didn't ask what was wrong cause I was so pissed I didn't get one!

But the really good news is there's another cool exhaust from M7 that is due out in a few weeks or months! They had it on their blue Cosworth car and it sounded awesome. The exhaust is not on their website yet but they brought along a display or prototype with them to show to everyone. Peter and Randy at M7 knows I have a lot of mods from them and in the end, I was driving home with the exhaust sitting in the back of my MCS.

The valve is expensive and the fabrication is first class..... the price is reasonable..... granted the one on my car was a 1 off proto type but the craftsmanship was amazing..... Joe and hector at RSpeed commented at how well it was put together.
