That'll probably take longer than hanging the system itself.
I'm guessing 2 hours @ $75/hr
Your probably not too far off. I kind of expected about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Most exhaust can be installed easily, but with the wiring for the switch, that at least triples the time.

I'm gonna come in Matt's defense here. I too was scheduled to get the WMS exhaust at the Phoenix PP. And it is true that it was only 1-2 days notice that it was not gonna be ready. I too think that it would have been much better if Randy had given people a bit more notice about the lack of exhausts at the PP. Does this mean I won't get a WMS system? Just look at my sig for the answer.

I do not think he is making any childish demands, he is asking a simple question trying to be an informed MINI owner. You need to calm down a bit before posting responses and know the full story and not attack people like this. Those type of knee jerk responses are what drives people away from NAM.

Plus we are paying for a premium product, expecting extra R&D. But by the same token with a premium product should come premium service/support. With some of the problems is commmuncating with WMS in the past, due to high volume of calls/visits, the service hasn't been premium at times. I don't think anyone, including Randy and Brian would argue this. And to their credit they are trying to improve things.

In the end, we are all anxious for this system. We all need to be patient with WMS, as well as each other.

I'll have to say you don't need to defend Matt. There was no target.
His post did trigger the thought though and he is definitely not the only one that's impatient. I have been as well.
Being upset or PO'd doesn't get the product to market any sooner and if it does you get crap like Windows Me

Is anybody not going to buy a PS3 because it got delayed again?
How long we been waiting for that Pilo header??

Matt was going to AMVIV anyway so why stress about the exhaust? It just detracts from the potential fun.

Anyway, it's all in a day and doesn't change the world so let's just have fun here.

if it's around $800, i think i can live with that for an exhaust system with such crazy power. i'm sure the installation is not that hard is it? just simple wiring from the exhaust to the interior..

The problem is, don't count on anything anyone "thinks" in this forum, because even Randy isn't sure when it'll be done. I think that's why the thread is so long, because there are A LOT of people excited about this thing. In short, keep posted and wait for the official word from Randy .

Estimate on price is between $800-$900. My question is how much is install after that?

Well, it should eventually get simple to install. I bet it'll take Webb a little while to decide where the best place to put the switch is, and to practice so as to cut down on their man hours. I know there are a lot of people who didn't get the rear fog option and would love to finish out their toggle line (like myself). Most will probably put the switch by the e-brake though, and that should be the easiest to install.

I did not a/b to the Milltek but the butt dyno was significant..... this is negated because my understanding is that the production version is far more constricted/quieter than my prototype...... Randy was shooting for about the same or a little better than the current units while closed and a can of "whup-***" when opened..... we'll see

Yeah, they only changed the muffler, not the tubing diameter or routing... At least that is my understanding... So it's a new week, any new news on the exhaust??? Randy and Brian need to get themselves some more help... and a raise... lolol

Randy, SpiderX, et al.

Just a thought here. When measuring sound levels why not just use the federal standard test proceedures to make your test. Then anyone can test any system, anywhere, and have real numbers to compare.

The latest system look promising.

from my knowledge, i think someone mentioned it's making more power than the magnaflow. and the magnaflow is doing quite abit of numbers, so i figure this system is probably the most hp system on the market?

Well, considering its a 3" straightpipe, it had better make better numbers than restrictive competitors...

It's even less restrictive than a 3" straightpipe! It's a 3" -> 2 secondaries [when open], with only one muffler'ed. Simply put, if this thing gets to 'street' sound levels when closed, it's gonna be SICK when open. 7 lb ft more when open is just stupid [in a good way]! Bear in mind, you'll need earplugs to run open all the time, if Spider's video is indicative! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Props on the ongoing development, Randy. Respects and greetings from your old stomping grounds- Wellington! Gimme a ring if you'll be in town!
