Drivetrain Randy Webb's new exhaust
Hello all,
I would like to put my name into the hat for anyone that is going to be getting rid of their Milltek system. I know that it may be a while before the WMS system is ready for sale, but you know how it goes.
either PM or e-mail thatatvguy@gmail.com
Many thanks,
John
Oh BTW, i'm in SC so, if you are close that would be great!

Ok, good. The biggest problem when we installed the miltec was rubbing between the SS and the resonator. In the end we had to put a 1/2" dent in the top of it for clearance...

I'm happy to hear that

Well, maybe I can offer up what I know. Randy just returned to Denver yesterday afternoon from Norfolk. They are awaiting the arrival of the most recent revision to the system that they've made, and will resume testing on that upon arrival. Once Randy is confident that the sound on the muffler side is where he wants it, he will begin moving the unit into production shortly after. IF the sound isn't right for some reason... more changes to follow.
I will be waiting until it has Randy's stamp of approval on it... and anxiously await what is hopefully one of the first production models available. I just dyno'd my car as a before, and once it's back on, will do testing on the same dyno to see results... in both open and closed positions. I have little doubt it won't surpass my expectations after talking to Randy this wekend.
There's your update!!

Well, we just received the latest prototype this morning. Hopefully we will be able to stick it on my car either today or tomorow. As F15 said, if the sound is right, it will go into production

Yep, recently was the third time in the past three years that I was prepared to actually come out there, because I had business in the area.
Left a message for them to call. Wanted to do several signifcant mods.
No return call from anyone there.
And for the third time, no business from me.
Glad they're doing so well that they don't need the business.
Twice I've tried to give them another chance, believing the story "we've got our communications fixed."
Doggone it, I've wanted to work with Webb, but I guess it's not to be.
Of course he's made it possible to meet some other great tuners!
Even though I've probably spent about $3,000 with Randy, it could've EASILY been $12-18,000.
Spent it with those who returned calls.
Buy, hey, this is old news. No need to rehash the past when it's still present.
Sorry Jim to hear about your experience. I'm going through it again myself. What really sucks is when you get a message about a call to follow but it never comes or you setup a pulley party and it ends up at someone's place other than than yours. Same old story. My boss would have my a$$ for that kind of customer service.

Voice mail.
No reply.
But I don't wanta turn this thread, so over and definitely out on that topic!
Hope you get the exhaust.
I wanta see/hear it when you get it installed!
BTW Bob, are you gonna participate in the BMW or SCCA auto-x events this year?
You know, after visiting the shop, I notcied something. It's a small shop that produces huge products. It definitely has a Ma and Pop shop feel to it. If anyone knows anything about local small business, you go ther because of how nice everyone is, of course there is a limit for customer service, but Webb in my mind hasn't crossed that yet by a long shot. Happy service gains loyalty. So far, Randy has been awesome to work with!! My guess is, he's shut off the phones so he and crew can get some work done. Everytime I talk to the guy we're on the phone for an hour because I'm picking his brain for info and he's nice enough to humor me. And there are a lot of people out there like me when it comes to the Mini obsession. Besides, where are you going to go to get an exhaust that's going to give you gains like this one??? I'm waiting for sure.

Anybody that can do the work he does in the pulley party scenario with a bunch of gearheads nattering away, sticking their big heads in the way and just plain being distracting gets my appreciation.
I'd get the screaming hebees after about a half hour. :D

Patience please...
Anyone who doubts the dedication Randy Webb has to this community had better check themselves at the door.
The week before the Norfolk Pulley Party, Randy and Brian and James were at the shop until 1 or 1:30 am working on customer cars, product development, and returning emails and phone calls. I'll tell you all a little secret... if you want to hear from anyone at Webb, leave a message for Bridget, and back it up with a PM to her on the Webb forums. Don't call in with silly questions... that's what NAM is for. There are enough helpful and experienced people on the boards that most questions can be answered by one of us. I mean really, at what point is our almighty dollar so important? I can't stand that, "I have money I want to spend, so pay me lots of attention" mentality. It IS a small operation... it's not like Bridget is just some phone girl. She handles the bulk of the business end of the business, so that Randy can apply his talents where it counts, track proven product development, testing, and installations.
