After re-reading through this entire thread (not an easy feat with 550+ posts), I don't believe there was an affirmation from Randy or anyone at WMS that this exhaust will fit the MCSC (either in the initial production or a future model). I'd like to wait for the WMS if it's compatible with the convertible, but if not, I'm ready to splurge on a Milltek or Borla now.

The convertible s has another crossmeber that the regular s dosnt. So to answer your question, all the manufacturers have a seperate part # for the convertible because of this additional obstruction.I did a modification of an Invidia to make it fit our Aug 04 build 05 mcs because nothing was available at the time. You can see the car in my gallery

Sorry Randy. Really wanted to wait for your system, but Xmas made my money burn a hole in my pocket.

Got the milltek installed and I do likey very much. (pics in my gallery)

When it's quiet, it's quiet.

When it's pushed, it roars. To me at least. I can't imagine how loud the borla, magnaflow, or WMS exhausts must be under heavy accelleration.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting for it.

I have the Miltek back on my car and compared to the WMS as I tested it, it is a "pussycat"....... I am waiting for the "quieter" unit as well...... I will say the power was addicting (at least 15+) but it was loud...... louder than Randy wanted it to be so it is being "worked on" I would guess soon after the holidays we should see the next version.

Will Randy offer a non race system?

Hey Randy Webb,

Would you down the road offer a Cat Back system with a Res. & two mufflers for us who like alot less noise? i.e. compete with Milltek? Maybe I should send this to your web site?

Take Care,
Randy & Meg

PS. It's nice talking to you over the phone, your a good guy!

Please give us some info! I am in a holding pattern for a headar and exhaust. It was Milltek before, but now the WMS is leading the race. I just don't know how much longer I can wait!

Hey guys, sorry for us neglecting this thread. To give you an update, after our test at Laguna Seca, we are making a design change to hopefully bring the sound down to the level Randy is happy with (when closed... stupid 92db limit). We are also looking into finalizing were we are going to tap into power (for the valve), and placement for the switch. We want this system to be as clean and trouble free as we can possibly get it before a release. We don’t want to pull an xbox360 style recall as soon as we release it . We are having enough trouble coming up with enough money to make a profitable run from the manufacturer as is. As always feel free to call the shop if you want to talk with one of us personally about this or the swaybar (which is coming along faster than the exhaust). 303-683-4424

About switch placement, have you guys considered using the stock toggle switch as an option? Most of us don't have the rear fogs so we have an extra toggle switch slot... Would really make it look clean and go unnoticed on the inside... Just a thought...

yah i would second that one. I would much rather have a oem style switch to go in the rear fog switch

We are certainly working hard on this project. We had an issue with replacing the valve when installing the system at the track and had a metal shaving in the valve, keeping it from closing completely. We are now redesigning the valve to combat any issues that reduce longevity.

I have also changed the basic design to incorporate some things we've learned during testing. I can't go into all of them and why it works, because it would be handing out our hard earned knowledge! Here is a pic of the latest design though:

As soon as we have our testing completed, and the system is what I want it to be, we will get it to the market. The jig is completed, and the terms are all set - I just will not release a part that isn't exactly what I want (power has been great, it is just fine tuning the sound).

I'm sorry that it is taking longer, but you have been in on the loop since the beginning of the project (not the way I would have had it, but that's OK) and see now that it takes some time to get it all correct. I really thank you for the patience! It will be exactly what we want once it is available.

Hope that helps!

Randy

There was (and still is) a resonator in our design from the beginning, located right after the cat. This most recent design change was for the sole purpose of reducing dB. After we test out this latest model, and record some data on sound levels, we will see if the resonator is still necessary.

Looks geat!!! Can't wait to see the final product.

I think we're all impatiently patient, because it's good to see your being cautious to avoid headaches down the road.

This is my understanding -

The MyMini is a single sided system. Nicely built and I've heard it - giving a soft sport tone, very acceptable for daily street.

Webb's system is a dual sided system that acts as a single sided system for daily driving and a dual sided system for race or play. I'm sure it will be equally nicely built and from what I've gathered in the single sided mode (i.e. the quietest of the two settings) its a full sport tone. I know there was some debate if the production model would be the same loudness as the beta model tested by SpiderX.

I have to admit that I haven't kept up with this thread.
