I have the Miltek cat-back along with an aftermarket header and ported/polished head. Not sure what you've done along those lines, but my car is definitely LOUD! When I accelerate in a tunnel, the sound is awesome indeed . Whenever I'm near a police or highway patrol car, my foot comes off the gas pedal. No need to get pulled over and do a lot of fast talkin'. I'd consider the new WMS exhaust, if in the closed mode, it really is quieter than my current setup. BTW, Randy has driven my car, and I hope he has a few memory traces of the exhaust note so that he can give some sagely advice .

Stick to the remus tips or offer multiple tips so the buyer can choose what they like. Like supersprint have done. I dont like those cheap looking DTM tips.

side exit is illegal for street use here in NJ.... not sure about elsewhere. You can't have exhaust exiting alongside the passenger cabin mostly only pickup trucks can get away with it.

For a side exit exhaust to be legal it must exit behind the passenger compartment. On a pickup or 2 seat sportscar, that's pretty easy. On a MINI...

I like the straight cut metal look of DTM tips, but don't want them turned up. Something like your original tip design, or the Supersprint, or the Dinan tips would be awesome. Maybe you could also have an option for black powdercoated tips? Then people wouldn't have to worry about exhaust soot.

SpiderX could answer this since he actually has the prototype on his car, but it doesn't look like the tips are angled up toward the sky. It looks like the piping leading to them is angled downward toward the ground:

yeah, when i first saw this pic ^, i never thought that it might be DTM tips, rather that it was the design of the system trying to tuck up under the bumper so much that the tips were designed that way just to come out of the bumper straight.

As long as the tips protrude at least three or four inches out of the bumper I'll be happy . Just look at MSFITOY's custom tips, the extended tips make it look so much meaner . Also I wouldn't mind the WebbMotorsports logo engraved on the tips. I don't know about you guy's but I'd be willing to pay a few extra dollars for the engraving(besides then people know what exhaust you have and personally I want people to know I have the WM exhaust )

I'd do a nice full oval (boxster like). When closed, exhaust only comes out of one pipe which might look a little silly - especially in the winter at start-up. Then there is the carbon issue - one clean one black.

Another intersting tip is the supersprint viper. What SS has done right is that they offer 4 tip choices.

I also like the suggestion of your logo on the tips

That looks like it's touching the valence. Will that melt the plastic?

Regarding tip design... I've always preferred an exaust tip that looked like it was a little thicker on the outside edge, like our stock tips and the remus pic posted a bit earlier, vs. a thin pipe that looks sharp enough to cut your leg if you brushed by it washing the mini's filthy little rear end.

More protrusion vs. the stock exaust is nice, but nothing too obnoxious...again, I don't want a stray leg getting burned or bumping into things.

I sent Brian a PM to get put on the list... now we'll just have to sit back and see if Randy-Clause will pay us a visit by years end.

Indeed, they made for wider tires, among other benefits...

I just never knew why the name.... "lake".

If I had to guess, it was coined by folks who launched boats in lakes... The traditional tailpipe would be under the water... Just an educated guess though...

Question SpiderX - were the clips taken with the rear seats up or down, and with or without the cargo area cover?

Maybe because they had drag races & speed contests on dry lakebeds (like the Bonneville Salt Flats)?

didn't John Milner remove his Lake plugs before his drag race with Harrison ford?
