Ah...I see. So that's a OBX exhaust? Never seen one. I thought it was a SuperSprint from the tip design. Very nice

OBX is a copy of SS both the header and exhaust. Not a bad set-up for 500.00 BUCKS !

I know I know, I can't believe I'm saying it either. It might be the fact that it's such a close up. Maybe if I look at it as a whole I might like it better. But, I'm serious when I say that the color looks great with the silver!

So it's ok with the valve open Bob? I'm getting around to puttn a decimeter to mine. Have you done that yet?

With encouragement/assistance from Chow4us, I'm half way to posting my exhaust notes. I have it recorded but I think I need some cables to interface with my PC. As my 1 year old says when asked..."what's Daddy's car say? 'VRUMM VRUMMMM!!!'"

How does that compare to the millitek? To me, that new sound clip is a bit loud. I have spent too much time with my too-loud miata...looking for a low growl....

thanks!

that last audio was Msfitoy not the "SpiderX" it is hard for me to answer that. it is a touch louder than the milltek closed......open it is Very Loud!

it is a prototype and the design goal is to match the milltek in volume.......

there are some decisions/experiments being tossed about. more later

Guesstimate on a open valve sound wave?

SpiderX,

Any guess on when a open valve sample may be available to listen to? You've done a wonderful job on this thread.

My back decided to "go out" on me so the last few weeks I have been hampered.

I pick up the car today from R speed and I am hoping to be able to post something by Thursday night.

I will tell you it is loud but very meaty. It surprised the heck out of me how "big" the engine sounds.

Thanks for the compliments.......It is fun for me to be at the "point"

Bob

no ........ I'm not too crazy about it. I will look for another switch..... The stock switches are not switches at all..... more like "joy stick controllers" sending a message to a logic switch. there is nothing of consequence behind that switch that you put your windows up and down with. I am going to look for something else. I'll take photos later

I picked up the car today with the exhaust and the switch works like a champ..... I was hoping to dyno this week but it will have to be next week as I have lost a lot of work time due to the "back" situation.

THe open position is loud but inside it is not as loud as I expected. There is power increases when open but rather than guess....I will post dyno results. The workmanship and quality is very high and I think this exhaust will be the "go to" unit for some time........ I heard a rumor that it may be offered with and without valve.....and the valve can be added later...... if you think that is a good idea let Randy know.....don't tell him I sent you this is on the QT.

tips are being decided on and lots of good choices are being considered......this is a quality system so expect something nice.

I will try to post audio before the weekend.

so you could mash the throttle and while moving at speed, throw the switch back and forth to check power?

The sound would probably throw off your perception of the power.
