some end product sound files would be sweet. I'm really looking forward to hearing this. Will randy be up to installing these during the pulley parties? I hate to sound like a hippy, but a weldable option would make me feel better, but then again I like welding over screwing things on .

Looks great I'm really looking forward to seeing and hearing this.

Thanks again for the good work

The benefits of a Mandrel bend is the ability to maintain size and shape, w/o distorting or crimping... If indeed smaller, it might be by design possibly...

if no sound bytes yet please tell us range for sound. i.e. Magnaflow, UUC, Milltek, in between either, etc.

the straight section is louder than the magnaflow by far. As for the muffleled section, we dont have an idea since the new one is still in production. Once we get it back to our shop and test it on a car without a header, we will give you guys the final thought.

For now, we are happy with the Milltek header. If we think of a way to improve the current design we will act on it. And yes, you will be informed if we do come up with something.

The exhaust is in and I will have the car tomorrow. The switch will not be connected until Friday so all I will know tomorrow is the "closed" sound/power. .......more later....

picked up the car today w exhaust

I picked up the car today...that is the good news.... It feels more powerful closed than the Miltek by a nice margin. It is louder than the Miltek in the closed position and sounds much more aggresive. The engine seems to wind up a little faster. The engine makes that cool burble sound when it's backing down..... very aggresive...... The bad news is that the switch to open it will not be installed until next week so we all have to wait a while longer to experience the total impact of what this system is made to do. At that time I am going to the dyno and test it in both modes. I am thinking of going to a different dyno than the others (convienence) so my previous deltas won't count for much. What we will know is the dif between open and closed. My car is still in "beta" but I will say that the more I drive it the more I like it....... it is louder...... I think in a good way

Did you have the Milltek before??
What is the sound (type) closest to, in the exhuast reference thread? Must be cool to have something that no one else does on your car? How's your back btw?

Thanks

Glad to hear it's finally on. Any chance of doing some audio/video of it? Even in the closed position, it'd be nice. Also, is there any drone while cruising?

I still have the Miltek......it is at the shop. As my back gets better I will do my best to post audio and video. My back is getting better but is still pretty stiff....... thanks for asking.

The sound is much deeper and a bit nasty.....not ricer at all. where is the exhaust ref thread?

Audio and video as I feel better..

Hard to tell about drone because I rode home with the windows open. It is beautiful in Atlanta this week..... besides I have to burn the new exhaust smell for about 100 mi.

it's a sticky in the drivetrain mods forum. Don't worry about it though I want to hear it with no prior knowledge of the sound, just adds to the drama!:impatient

Bob, So this is still the proto type with loud muffler? Or is it the revised quieter muffler Randy was working on?

Would be great if you could go to the same dyno as your previous runs, as I am interested in the numbers in quiet mode compared to the miltek.... But if its not convenient its bad luck for me.

This is still a prototype, and the final version will be dyno tested on the same dyno and car against the stock, Milltek and Magnaflow.

This is the more quiet version, test unit number 3. I will be working on the sound a bit more, as I want the closed position very quiet. It will mellow a bit as Bob drives it too. The tips on Bob's version were quick and dirty as well, so again, this unit is still prototypal (sp?), but it is certainly very close now!

Thanks for the interest guys! I will give you as much info as I can.

Hope that helps!
Randy

Just to clarify, Randy will be doing dynos of his own for the "official" numbers......tonight while I was out I made the decision to go back to my dyno where have deltas as well......it just makes sense.......

btw......just an opinion but there is some real "meat" in this exhaust. I drove it again and I am more and more impressed.......Randy is on to something very strong here. The exhaust note is ..... well ......meaty

How do you adjust the sound in the exhaust, Randy, is it done with the tips? Also about what is the diameter of the tips, I know the exhaust itself is 3", but I didn't know if the tips were the same or not? Man like I told bob in a pm, every time you guys describe this artwork that you call an exhaust, I am like
and then like, and then like , then I post a response with a question because this happened, . That's my smiley limit for the day! I only hope is that you guys stay on course, and keep doing the fanatastic job you currently, and always have.

Can't Wait! I know I say that in every post but it's the truth!

Chili aka Mikey

BTW next time why don't you outsource the paper the design is made on to like Fort Wayne or something so I can have a part in it!

Good to hear that you want the closed position very quiet wouldnt make sense if it was still to loud for some people in the closed position when you have gone to the trouble of having it adjustable "for sound & power" Looking forward to the numbers.

How is the weight going to compare to other systems? I'm in Australia so freight is going to be a concern.

John.
