Good news

I spoke with Randy yesterday on my way back to Atlanta from Charlotte (bored out of my mind) and one way or the other I will have the exhaust on my car at the ..... DRAGON...... Randy is still working on the volume when closed but it is still a viable option for the "performance" crowd as is. Think Magnaflow not Milltek. I will say this that I really miss the power..... after the initial pulley.... this exhaust gave me the the biggest boost of any of the mods I have done. One more note.... the accceleration on the video clip was done going up a 6-7% grade.....for those who know Atlanta this was going up Johnson's Ferry rd 200 yds. N of the Chattahoochee river with 2 two people..... on the flat, alone, the car wound up much faster.

Any ideas on pricing? Will it be priced around 600-800 like the other exhausts on the market or will it be more expensive?

Instead of getting the "final" piece on Friday as we expected, it is going to be this week - which is already totally full - so we will be doing as much as possible, but no promises this week.

I promise to give you any info I have as soon as I have it!!

Thanks,
Randy

Testing continues:

That's Brian's car, which we are using for testing, at the dyno.

Stay tuned...

Needless to say by now, I'm "staying tuned" as much as possible. Is that the newest revision on Brian's car?

The TIPS look awesome!

If that is the most recent revision... is the sound where you want it?

Yea man I HOPE they keep the tips the same in the actual production version. I love the tips on the JCW (which are very similar to the Webb ), but not the exhaust itself...

Has the weight of the system been posted? Did a search through the thread but didn't find it.

I don't think it's been posted... but it could be 100 lbs for all I care.

still interested, but interest is waning as more and more time goes by. Other mods to do to the S and the new GTI.

I was more involved the beginning and was there when decisions on the tips were being made....I have never seen nicer IMO. The overall quality is more like "sculpture" for the wall...... now that it is getting this close I am getting excited again..... my suggestion is hang in there.

Can I get a pocket check here?? Money is officially burning a hole!

I believe this will be a clear example of "good things come to those that wait". The ppl that decided to spring for the Magnaflow or Milltek will be swapping. That'll be good news for the budget minded, as more used systems become available.

Those are the production tips.

The weight is less than any of the other two sided systems - 29 lbs (due to the lack of a muffler on the driver side). We also put the straight flow side on the dirver side to offset driver weight.

Thanks for the patience - to get it right takes time!

Randy

Smart detail! It is the little things when people spend the time to design something properly.

literally LMFAO!!!

Seriously, I won't be putting anything else on my car. It just may need to wait even after the prod. model comes out a few months. The money already burnt a hole in my pocket for the GTI coilovers

On that note I have total faith in Randy. I know this wait has been so we will have a great product. As an owner of the WMS swaybar, I know all will be top notch. Keep up the great work at Webb. I am a customer for life.

Any idea if the exhaust will clear Short Shifter Kits? I know there have been some issues before and I was wondering if Will's car has one.

This is also a shameless post to get an update since yesterday...

Really excited about it, especially after hearing the extent of thought that went into the production piece (i.e. - putting the muffler on the passenger side). That's just nuts, 'Foamy the Squirrel' nuts.

How big are the tips? 3" like the rest of the system or bigger? I will be getting a cat-back for my car soon and I hope this is out and at a reasonable price by the time I save up. I'll be "staying tuned"... literally lol...

That's nice to know. I just received my helix SS kit in the mail and I was planning on putting it on tomorrow, weather permitting. If the Alta SS clears it, will the other SS kits clear it, mainly my Helix SS kit?
